Hey guys, I can't seem to find a working PSCheck download link. All of them are down, including the one linking to the megaupload website.

Is the voltage at 2.7ghz correct? bcoz i see another user is able to reach 3dmark 11 score of 4850 and cinebench 2.26. Try the voltage 1.15V and try the cinebench again

So, update: I was successful in getting the dual boot to work (win 7 & win 8) in RAID 0, but only if both were installed using the legacy BIOS. I have read in several places that if the UEFI BIOS has CSM (Compatible Service Module) them you can install Win 7 to a UEFI BIOS with a GPT partitioned drive. Without the UEFI, I lose the extras that UEFI gives you.
I have searched everywhere in the BIOS and cannot see 'CSM' anywhere.
Does the Gx60 have this capability, and if so how do I enable 'CSM' in the BIOS.
My BIOS version is 7.06, I noticed on MSI's website the version 7.08 is available, but when I try to flash the BIOS it gives an error.
Anyone know how to get this working?

I have noticed a slight bit of choppyness in youtube videos, any ideas what might cause this? Downloaded videos work fine.

Edit: I've also noticed moving the cursor around while the video is playing makes it more choppy. Don't know what could be causing it.

Edit: Seems to just happen in Firefox, might be some addons causing it, feel better its not the laptop though!

Resolved: It was hardware acceleration within the flash player, disabled and everything works okay now!

If you have ever worked in a desktop it's exactly the same except for the latch there is a screw to tighten to close the socket.

    Hi again Meaker,
Do you know how to get windows 7 to install from a USB flash drive onto a UEFI based system. I get past the loading files, but then it just hangs on starting windows. I was successful in dual booting but only under the legacy BIOS. I'm not sure, but I may need the 'CSM' option in the BIOS to get windows 7 to install under UEFI/GPT. My BIOS version is 7.06 and when I look I cannot locate CSM anywhere. Do I need to upgrade the BIOS to get this option?

I tried updating the bios with 7.08 from the msi website but it gave me the following error:
'EFI\64\AFUEFIX64.EFI' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Edit: it shows type: fs6:\EFI\BOOT\FLASH.NSH, size 48

    I thought it was fs1?

Is this the wrong 7.08 update and if so where else other than the msi website can I get the correct one?

Ok, I didn't have it set when creating the flash disk to make it boot into dos, but what are the commands to then flash the bios?

Edit: currently the machine is windows 8, so I downloaded the bios version for 8.

Edit2: ok, I have also tried by dos mode, I get the same error? When looking at the instructions of how to do this, I appear to be missing a file as part of the actual update. Whether this file is needed or not I don't know.
I cannot set the flash disc to boot from dos, it is greyed out, but the instructions apparently means I shouldn't need to...why is this not working? I'm only trying to flash the bios.

    Hi Meaker,
I downloaded the BIOS versio 7.08 for windows 8 from msi.com but it still fails with the same error. I am wondering whether the update itself is at fault.

Yeah I figure as much but sadly there doesn't seem to be a way, I'll just wait for the 5750m and do it then.

I find it odd they could get 3.2ghz on two cores from what I've been testing and reading the A10-4600m can only sustain 3.2ghz for a few seconds.

On a better note I got a new SSD coming XD

Gpu power isnt the problem with this laptop. At cpu intensive games more gpu power doesnt add much value.

You can never have TOO much power muhahahahahahahahaha!

It also shows us that in the future when we get stronger CPU's we have a possibility to improve 10% in GPU power that's pretty amazing IMO for a laptop.

You dont need a guide to help you out, its pretty straight forward. Just know that you will have no drivers that will be detected when you install.

You're ethernet/wifi & all USB 3.0 and SM drivers will be needed and ofc your ATI drivers.

So just make sure before you lose all access to the internet if its your only computer at home to download the wifi / ethernet drivers onto a USB drive.

There isnt much more to know, if you're installing on an SSD instead of the 750GB HDD that comes in most stock GX60's you might need drivers for your SSD.

I can provide more information if you're unsure, but its pretty straight forward pop in your DVD and install away!

I went to the electonic market area here in Seoul yesterday and had a good look at a GX60 w/A10 5750M a dealer had on display with Windows 8 Pro x64 installed.

With the price drop on the A10 4600M the 5750M model is about $200 more falling between $1050 and $1100 depending on the exchange rate. The price includes a hefty VAT.

The GX60 is sold without an OS here.

The other major difference is that the A10 4600M model has a 500GB 7200 hard drive as stock but the new A10 5750M has a 1TB 5400 hard drive as stock.

Okay guys, here I am again with some of my odd problems, I stumbled upon a HUUUUUUUUUGE issue but it's not my lap's hardware, but It's more windows 8 and amd vision center related.

I was installing an external audio card I own an E-mu tracker pre, everything was fine, but I have this other issue, every single time I put my wireless microsoft mouse/keyboard dongle on an USB port that didn't had it before the computer requires me to re-boot to do changes, these changes become a 40 min of arranging "new settings".

well after this coincidential installing the audio card + mouse/keyboard issue (it's a microsoft wireless keyboard 3000 v2.0) I booted up to a slow and almost un-responsive black screen with a blue bar at the bottom where nothing could be done (I forgot to mention that the log in before this window took like forever), as expected I panicked, texted a friend, I put the pc to sleep mode, when I turn it back on in the password screen it was just blue, did a hard reboot (by holding the on button till it shuts off) prompted me to the log in screen did another long log in it finally worked back to normal, however Im scared to death to turn this thing off or even restarted it (even when I used the same USB port I usually use for the mouse/keyboard it prompted me back again to re-start so the changes could take effect)

I am scared to reboot ever again and some windows update eventually will force me to do so, what if I get that weird boot screen again?

any help? advice? Im 90% certain it has to do with the external sound interface as when I installed it's drivers AMD vision center got all whiny that it didn't liked it and I should pick 1 audio output.

I think I'll man up and do the re-start right now or else I'll live forever in fear, I just wanted to let this post out so I could check from my mobile/other pc in case it happend again what I could do and procedures to get into safe mode in case this occured again.

    Cheers! thanks in advance!

    Edit: Booted up fine, still I would like to know what caused such horrible thing x_X;;
