WHen I comes to me, I'm sure I used the Win 7 BIOS for my Win 7 GX60.

    IT DOESN'T INSTALL.

I just bought the hitman edition and did some considerable testing over the weekend. results:

tomb raider: 35 fps avg with tressfx everything else on ultra, with out tressfx 45-50 fps.
crysis 2: everything ultra + high res textures, around 30 fps.
borderlands 2: 50-60 fps everything high EXCEPT physx, when I had physx on high it slowed down considerably in a big firefight, around 20 fps. this processor doesn't handle physics too well, so thats been my only unplayable ultra-high game.
hitman: 30-40 fps with everything on high AA on 4x

the weight is a bit heavy but not really any heavier than my dell 15inch work computer. the plug however is pretty huge.

I have had no issue with the drivers and switchable graphics at all, been automatic for everything. I haven't tried guild wars 2 or the witcher 2 yet, and I just bought far cry 3 on ebay, I will update after testing.

Has anyone with an a10-5750m tried running 1866MHz RAM and got it running at 1866? The options there in the bios (using the bios from 27/8/2012) but when I set the memory (corsair vengeance 2x4gb 1866cl10) to run at 1866 in the memory options in the bios it fails to start windows, rebooting either straight away or sometimes hanging at the windows 7 flag screen. Any ideas on anything to try and get it working? Running the windows memory test on startup options comes up with a 'hardware problem' but I have to set it back to 1600 to boot and don't get a report on what the problem is exactly. I have until Friday if I want to send the memory back under DSR...

Doesn't faster memory only benefit the iGPU and not the CPU or the 7970M?

Yes, but it'll also help if you do realtime audio/video-editing aka djing/vjing. basically everything that's heavy on the ram will benefit, but mostly the iGPU, you're right.

    Hi there :)
I need help because I can not set the game Most Wanted 2004 to full screen ( the same situation in a few other games ). I have black bars on the sides , and when I try do something in CCC - scaling option is not available. There's nothing I can change. Anyone know something about it ?

To anyone running 13.6 I suggest you disable the new "Allow additional power savings" option in CCC. When I tab out of games for > 5 seconds the 7970M turns off and the game moves to the iGPU. That's fine, except when I tab back in and the 7970M turns back on, the computer BSoD's and then restarts.

Anyone else ran into this issue? This is with Windows 8

    Hello!
I was curious if anyone has the new GX60 with the 5750m and has tried to play ARMA 3 on it?
I am seriously considering this laptop but I need to know if it ll be able to play ARMA 3 with decent graphics and fps.
I have one alpha key left if anyone is willing to try it out.

That's an interesting cuestion, since ARMA 2 is very CPU intensive, I wonder how the AMD APU handles it.

I have the original GX60-1AC model but I got a hold of a 5750M. It's installed it but now my 7970 gpu is reporting a problem?

I need to know if any of you needed to perform a BIOS update. I currently have Windows 7 installed. Please help!

Ok, nevermind. Should've been more patient and did more troubleshooting. Basically just a driver issue. Installed the latest chipset and drivers from AMD, fixed!

On another note, I'm sure it's been posted here before but I can confirm that yes, you can replace the keyboard with the backlit version. Yes, you can just drop in the new A10-5750M on your GX60-1AC model with no issues or need for BIOS updates.

    Thanks!

Ok. I have tried playing the game a little bit in Ultra settings...In infantry showcase...

The GPU utilization ranges from ~70% to 99%, with some CPU bottlenecking at times...
But even at GPU 99%, the game only runs at ~22 fps...and would dip to 14-15 fps where there's fighting...

Would see what i can do to increase the fps....

Can someone tell me where is the missing memory allocated ? I have windows 8 64 bit . ( Sorry for the really newbie questions , but you know ... )

Sounds like one of your Ram-chips is broken/or not connected properly, or only one is installed.

Anyway: got my 5750M today, already swapped, and everything is fine, memory running at 1866 w/out issue and no other problems.
BUT since I put in the 5750M I have one unknown device in the device-manager, and ca't get rid of it, all amd-drivers have been reinstalled, but no change...

Has anyone a clue what that could be?

Can you make some benchmarks? I am very interested how does it works. Especialy what is an improvement of higher clocked ram. 3DMark11 / Cinebench? And others. Whatever you can. Also I want to ask you what is your system. If you can test it with PSCheck forcing turbo? Those info can be usefull for may ppl

    3DMark11: from 43xx to 4810
    Passmark PT8: from 1850 to 2077

I'm on Win8, so no PSCheck, but I'll try AOD now.

    cinebench: 2,18 CPU-Multi, 0.8 Single, 40.6fps in openGL

That's +500 in 3DMark11, +0.2 in cinebench for the cpu, I'm pretty happy.

Now for realworld results: Hitman in fact is running smooth, it didnt before...
I mean what did you expect: double score?

What is your screen resolution set to and what is the resolution in the game set to?

And why do you only have 4GB of RAM :) Are you saying you are missing 4GB of RAM or you just mean the difference between 4 and 3.65, which would probably just be whatever RAM Windows is using and stuff running in the background, and what is already allocated to the integrated GPU.

What driver are you using, I found the 3d Mark score to be highly dependent on drivers.
With the 4600M I reached 48xx before, but not anymore with the last beta.

On the other hand games run way smoother, as opposed to the decreased benchmark score...

yea, only to force turbo at 2,7 GHz.

    Look
Richalnd is 2,5 to 3,5GHz so I was using almost lowest core speed of your CPU. Dont understand me wrong. I m wondering just how the scoore could be lower if you are also using higher clocked RAM

1: how does the ram affect 3DMark? little to none
2: try again without pscheck and you will see the real difference and get an image if you would benefit from an 5750, instead of comparing benchmarks between stock and non-stock systems ;)
for me it's +500 points as said before and way smoother gaming.

As discussed before, do not compare non-pscheck benchmarkd with pscheck benchmarks...

If you search the 3dmark 11 results database, you'll find a10-5750m results with a physics score around 3100...i believe that is a benchmark with pscheck...

AMD Radeon HD 8650G video card benchmark result - AMD A10-5750M,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16FK score: P5073 3DMarks

So again, compare pscheck benchmarks with pscheck benchmarks, and vice versa..

Unfortunately yes, but with 22 fps when the gpu utilization at 99%, 7970m really can't go any faster at stock....

And when you look at this benchmark, it's really not surprising..
    http://i.imgur.com/OaLvwiS.jpg

The benchmark was done with i7 [email protected] GHz...and 7970m is about the same as desktop 7850...so unless the game improves it's performance, i doubt any laptop would be able to run it at ultra with playable fps..

I used to have a Y500 with 750m SLI that would run it at 1920x1080 with average details at ~30fps. I traded that in for the gx60 because I wanted the extra performance of the 7970m but it looks like the 5750m processor will hold it back no matter what. Nuts. Hopefully the full product will be more optimized.
