Well your best way to find out is to try, if it crashes on an undervolt it should recover.

I thing it is somekind of bug in the utility.
Mine also diplayed 1.075v but actual was 1.000v so no worries flash it with 1.025v and it will be 1.025v

Hey guys, Anyone here tried the new Batman: Arkham Origins and willing to post an average/minimum fps with what settings?
Make sure you include what processor you're using.
It's just good for people to know roughly what performance their going to get before putting down the $$$.

    Thanks in advance

Hi. Is that what you want. FileSnack | Easy file sharing

    Got A10-5750m

Want to buy A8-8555M and OC it, but first I need to try to OC 5750m... A I have read last ~150 pages.
As I knew there are some ways to overclock APU.

I tried to do it in BAR-Edit, like it was posted earlier. Switched bits, write, then save...

    Before editing bits a.jpg

    After editing bits b.jpg

Nothing changed, except that sometimes on of cores jumps to 35x for a ~second.

Or did I something wrong ? Help plz, never have OCed anything...

From the sounds of it your changes didn't save, the trick is to first change two of the bits to 0, THEN click on another number in that long line of 0's and 1's, THEN click save and write.
Then go and do the other two bits and again click on another 0 or 1 in the list before clicking save and write.

I know it's a wordy explanation and it makes very little logical sense but that's just how Baredit works! You should see that all four cores don't run any slower than 3.2Ghz, and occasionally (for like 1 second) will pop up to 3.5Ghz, that's the best we can manage at the moment but it does seem to show a 10-15% boost depending on App/benchmark

Can you tell me whats your stock voltage and clocks on the hd8970m ?

And i can confirm the flash ofhd7970m to hd8970m can be done . Will try some gaming and benching soon.

    So best score yet :

    cpu@3.8gpu1002mem1400@1.025v8970.JPG

    Cpu @ 3.8GHz

    Gpu (hd7970m flash to hd8970m)

    core 1002 MHz mem 1400 MHz @1.025v

So thats 66 more points on the gpu at same clocks/voltages and 31 overall more points.

But i am pretty sure that the PSU is bottlenecking at the moment, when running benches i checked wattage usage form the socket and it reached over 190W sometimes gx60 PSU is rated at 180W i think i will try a better PSU next

180W delivery to the system = 200-220W from the wall, the rating of the PSU does not include its losses, though I have posted up guides on how to mod a PSU if you want to go that far.

Nice, did not know these A8 ES processors can take 3.8GHz too, very impressive! What voltage the cpu run there? It would be nice to see a 3dmark11 score too, when you overclock everything...

Will try to bench with 3dmark 11 soon

    Hey Guys,
Just in case anyone was wondering which way the new batman would go on this laptop.
Stock 7970m with Locked at 3.2Ghz 5750m Runs it like a dream.
Ultra everything except shadows off gets 80-120fps inside, and 40-80fps outside

    ### Beware of windows 8.1 ###
Currently attempting restoring previous version because computer won't boot, likely culprit:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...engine-driver-before-windows-8-1-upgrade.html

Having any Steel series drivers/software prevents win 8.1 from booting, for instance the mouse that came with this laptop!! No fix yet, just a heads up that I never received..

Several resets later it reverted to win 8.
I think I'll hold off for a little longer after that experience

Nice, Although not the best 3DMark11 score, someone has hit P5915 with A8-5550M ES, but probably because he has used Windows 7 or tight memory timings.

Might come off as grimy, but I don't care. I purchased the 1AC edition of this laptop on the 2nd of Jan and as I understand the newer additions (3AE and 3BE) are about a $100 more expensive. Do any of you guys know if it's possible to get a trade on these laptops if I give up the extra amount? Or am I sealed by the initial purchase? Thanks.

Any word yet on a possible upgrade for the A10-5750M from Richland? My guess is that when they release their new processors, the next generation will employ a different socket type that is incompatible with the GX60s.

Guy on another forum about Bf4 PC edition:
    Quick fire PC thoughts:

    - 8gb RAM is fine. Ignore the rumours. I've seen the task manager memory usage, including paging - it isn't much.

    - I'm getting twice the frame rates I was during the beta. I haven't changed any config on my rig at all.

    - I get 60fps 1080p in Auto (which configured everything to 'High') on my GTX 660 rig, with a crap AMD 4170 processor, in single player. Multiplayer is between 40fps-60fps (I'm max 60fps as I'm plugged into a HDMI TV).

    - If the Server you're playing on crashes, BF4 hangs, looping the same sound.

    - The single player graphics are holy .

Looks to me BF4 will run fine on our GX60's..

    Hey GX60 dudes!

Just my two cents concerning the Win8.1 update. It simply works fluently, with smoother experience than 8.0 version. You just need to fully uninstall the Catalyst suite, and make a Driver fusion's cleaning before applying the update.
As expected, computing performance made a quite nice jump, something like 100 points more on Firestrike Physics : Generic VGA video card benchmark result - AMD Eng Sample Mobile 2185_A1 ,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16FK
CPU-demanding games such as Shadow Warrior are now much more fluid.

BTW Col100, it seems that you're suffering of massive throttling, your physics score @3800 is quite low... Try to put less volts and achieve slower clocks : to spot if your APU is throttling, you should get same physics score with lower frequencies...

    Good stuff!
Can we get some one with just a 5750m preferably locked to 3.2ghz as described in the last few pages to give us an update on BF4 performance?
Most people would be interested in multiplayer and the best fps:graphics compromise so with "CPU" settings set to lowish are we still getting 40fps+ all the time?

This will determine if I buy it tomorrow or wait for mantle, not just for interests sake..
    So thanks in advance!

AMD may keep FS1r2 for Kaveri, but even than won't be compatible with current Trinity, Richland laptops. Kaveri consist new CPU and GPU cores at 28nm manufacturing process and the GPU cores have totally different architecture than in current Richland/Trinity APU. It is no way too make it work just with a bios flash, not mention laptop manufacturers do not even famous to provide bios support for future generation. Richland only works in Trinity laptops, because architecturally they are totally the same...

Guys, i want to get some advise of this laptop. I am looking for new laptop with good peformance (because is new). I just use for internet, youtube and so on. Play hd videos, light gaming (some car games) and eventually to make some review of my CAD designs (autocad, inventor, ansys). (I have a deak workstation).

I get some advice of workstation's laptops, but they are a bit expensive. I was almost decided for MSI GE series but reading quite a bite these computers has a overheating issues, and i've seen a lots computers broken because of overheating so i don't wanna be one of them. My lenovo g455 just died apparently for problems on video chip due to overheating.

That said, i see in GX series a reasonably performance (every review says that is as slower as an i3) but apparently no heating issues and a rough construction. (3.5kg should be) So i'm thinking in one of these GX 60 or GX70. What do you think? Thanks a lot!

    Cheers,

    Hi guys,

Just recently heard about Mantle. I'm kind of a noob at this stuff, but it sounds like all hell's gonna break loose on these AMD graphics cards. From what I've read Mantle will be available for select cards, does that include Radeon HD 7970M? Thanks.

    Hi Rayven1lk

Yes Mantle will be available for the 7970m and all other GCN (Graphics core next) cards.

First game to use it will be BF4 in an update in December.

I'm happy to report however that BF4 already runs great on my 7970m a10-5750m combo.
Haven't tried single player but In multiplayer I've played games right up to 64 players, on a range of maps, settings are currently at High and I get a smooth feeling 40-80 fps.
In comparison It feels much better than BF3 did!

So if Mantle carries out on it's promises of reducing CPU load and more efficient use of GPU then I have a feeling we may be reaching 60fps+ with most settings on Ultra... Only time will tell, either way definite buy!

    Hi skidmarek!

Thanks for the info, as you can tell I'm eager to see the changes and hopeful that more game developers will embrace this API, if AMD's delivers on their promises. I'm actually using the a10-4600m. (Bought the 1AC model), but it's nice to know they optimized it further to the point you feel it's smoother than BF3.
So since most of the overhead is being removed with mantle, does that mean there is less reliance on the CPU and in turn the bottleneck issue will be less prevalent?

As long as you're ok with i3 level CPU performance go for it. It's a cool running and sturdy laptop with huge GPU power. The only point of weakness is the CPU as you mentioned. New models ship with the Richland APU which provided a decent boost in power so it is probably as quick as an i3 these days.

Mantle in BF4 will take care about shading stuff only. Even DICE devs are saying not to judge Mantle by BF4 implementation. For me it sounds rather like a dissapointment.

Can you post a link showing what DICE devs are saying? From my reading a big chunk will be shifting work off the CPU onto the GPU, not sure where you got "shading stuff only" from..

Basically the game is optimized enough to run well on this laptop already, anything it does provide will just be an added gift around Xmas time.

I think we should either be cautiously optimistic or pessimistic at this stage, because it seems far to early to be disappointed!

Nov 11-13th we'll get AMD's numbers/targets along with announcements regarding other games to support Mantle with the NDA coming off.
Then in December we will get to see the real world improvements which we are getting for nothing

    So I'm happy regardless!
