I almost considered buying a 1366x768 120hz screen for it, but could not live with the drop in res.
I would drop down to a 120hz 1600x900 screen if I could. -

Can someone help me with a modde inf for the 570m for the 275.50 drivers please. ive tested the latop video 2 go with no success

@keith: is the 275.50 stable? Tnx
-
Any reccomendation also for a 4gb ram? Is there any specific brand that works well in our machine? tnx

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Well kingston hyper-x works nicely.
-
I just added a 4GB crucial 1333 from newegg and it works perfectly. Though I dont know if I would ever use up all that 16GB @.@

does somebody know if u can "configure" the brightness and sound setting for cinema pro???
-
Looking to get one of these.. Do the orange lights automatically light up upon boot or wake from sleep? Is there an option to permanently turn them off?
-

Yes you can disable them with the msi led manager. I have mine set to off all the time. -
-
well ull see when u have it in ur hands -
Random question, is the gtx560m of the GT683R gimped as the one on the Asus G53SX?
-
only the 2gb version is gimped
-
Nope, the MSI 683R has a 192-bit memory interface with 1.5GB of GDDR5
-
nVidia has released a new set of drivers, 285.27. They still don't officially support the 570m, so I had to modify the inf file to allow for installation.
I'm at work, so I can't run any benchmarks within games. But FWIW, 3DMark 06, Vantage and 11 all showed higher scores for me across the board.

yeah I just tried it, havent test any benchmark yet but it works flawless, brightness still adjustable.
here is the modded inf needed for this driver, just delete the txt part and put it in display.driver.Attached Files:

using 280.26 I got 2682 score on 3DMark11, with this new driver its P2735. But the card is not recognized

nope still the same, increased by 5 points =), tried with yours clocks, set PhysX back to GPU and auto select and its still the same.

I was going to speculate that my score is higher because I have a 2720qm, but that shouldn't net me a 700+ point increase over you.
I've attached my inf file if you want to give it a whirl.Remove the "txt" from the end.

Hello, since I was interested in a GT683DXR Msi I read the whole post, and the truth is that I have disappointed Gtx570M results, look very similar to gtx560m and far away from the results of a HD6970M.
The turbo function contributes very little OC, right? The increased of MHz core, shaders and memory on Gt683R was significantly higher.
How about the noise level under load? I guess not reach the silence of Asus G53/G73, but I would like to know what level of noise under charge 100%
Thanks -

The Turbo function really doesn't help that much. For your best overclocking tool download and install nVIDIA Inspector. NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.5.5 download from Guru3D.com

I finally gave up on the MSI overclocking altogether. I am using the tool posted above and it works almost flawless. The only time I have a problem is when I wake the laptop from sleep I have to manually click on it. Otherwise I have it set on startup.
Between the turbo button and using either afterburner or the nvidia tool I always had issues getting it to kick in. Since using the above method it always works.
Ran the newest drivers a few posts ago as well and got a 3519 with 3dmark 11 at my "normal" overclocked settings (not some really high benchmark only settings lol). -

Hello, all.
I'm a new owner of a GT683R-242US, first time MSI owner.
I wondered if anyone had a solution to a very flexy keyboard, before I do the whole return thing. I've read where some people use double-sided tape to stick chiklet-style keyboards down more firmly, but I hesitate to pry this one up if nobody else has tried it. Or if there's another method.
Any suggestions are welcome (including just returning it, if that's the better option).
Thanks! -
hey guys. i defenitely need to ask u something.
i recently installed crysis 1, directly from cd. no updates whatsoever to the game. then i overclocked to 720/1735. 683dxr btw.
temperature here is 30c.
THE GPU REACHED 90C!!!! is this normal or should i be worrying???
drivers 275.50 -

That keyboard should not be very flexy, unless you expect it to be rock solid.
I fear that it is not seated properly, which you can do yourself if necessary. Make sure it is off, and then press down firmly along the top and down the sides. Make sure all the tabs at the bottom are inserted properly...if you can see any of them poking out they are not inserted properly.
Exactly where is it flexing? -

also, crysis 1 is running @ 35 fps on high, not ultra. is this because i have not applied updates to it?? -
Hi, I just purchased brand new MSI GT683DXR.
I also got 4GB of memory to max out the memory but I encountered a funny problem.
My laptop does not turn on when I put the screw back in where the warranty sticker was. It works perfectly fine when I don't put the screw back in the hole where the warranty sticker was, but it does not turn on when I put the screw on there.
Anybody familiar with this problem?? -
I'll give that a try. It may not be a flex, but the keys on the left side (from the TAB to the T, down to V) make an awful, loud clack. Not good, because I like to game. Sometimes, it's not as loud, and I keep experimenting with different surfaces to see if anything non-invasive will stop it. But solid flat surfaces don't always work, either.
But I will try checking the tabs and pressing it all down.
Thanks for the tip, Paladin. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Hmmm, may be a silly question, but have you removed the plastic protective film on the entire keyboard?
-
okay so instead of afterburner, I switched to nVidia Inspector thanks to Donald and it turns out afterburner doesnt change the shader clocks though I have set it to 1450 it was still at 1150. Here is the new result that should be on par with everyone here.
Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16F2 score: P3648 3DMarks -
and 3D Mark Vantage, huge different.

Can someone help me a bit on how to use nVidia inspector? like to set the performance level 2 - P1 permanently without the need of running it again or boot it up with windows, can I do that? and somehow lock it in place as well? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The only way to permanently set it is to flash the bios.
-
-
i did use msi afterburner perfectly well until yesterday when I realized I didnt set the shader clock as I wanted as a result I got a 26xx-27xx score on 3dMark 2011.
But thanks anyway -
Hi,
can you tell me how you link the profiles in afterburner with hotkeys and then recall them in a game? I would like to do the same. Thks -
-
I've tried pressing down, and that hasn't helped. I'll try adding more pressure, see if that works.
