In the bios advanced menu (using the key combination)
Advanced Tab > Overclocking performance menu > Memory > Select custom profile > Select multiplier 11x

    I use Silent Option btw.

It should work well since HDMI is generally more limited in Hz

Ofc can. here mine at asus 1440p monitor.u can see at settings the monitor and the Hz.
But also with hdmi can out put 144hz. Just for gsync need conect via display port. U checked the resolution settings at nvidia control panel menu? There can choose resolution and what hz u want

I'm going by the description on the product page here:
    https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG278QR/

    Stating: "Note: 2560 x1440 @ 165Hz only works with DP port. The HDMI port only supports 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz. "

Also, speaking of NVidia Control Panel, I couldn't find G-Sync anywhere. Does it not show up until I have a monitor attached via Displayport?

Yes, I striped one of the screws of GPU mount. I want to know what kind of screw it uses (Like M0 M1 M2, etc) to buy and replace that screw.

Question- what are you all seeing for CPU and GPU temps in extended gaming sessions? Processor, GPU, fan control, thermal paste info ETC would all be good to know.

    Thanks,

I have this exact setup. Running the same monitor via mini DP port with the cable you mentioned. Works like a charm in 2k resolution and g-sync. The 2080 shows its true claws in 2k resolution, fps in games is about the same as in 1080p on laptops own screen. Only problem is with stuttering in windows. This can be fixed by restarting Desktop Window Manager in task manager. I think it is a compatibility issue with windows and g-sync, but its no big deal.

I use the latest version of Dragon Center and have no problem with it. I use advance fan curve and keep fans on all the time but very low speed until CPU hits over 70ish

Also, I did my custom bottom cover, thanks for all the advices on this, here are the photos:

And the temps mesured (hottest core) via HWinfo on timespy bench (score 8020 / Gpu 8300 / CPU 6800)
Stock thermal paste with underclock, turbo boost at x38 and RAM overclocked at 1730 (thanks for Tuto but it gets 5° hotter for the CPU !!!!)

    Origin cover: CPU / GPU
    - desk : 94 / 68
    - notebook cooler (NC) Off: 92 / 68
    - NC On : 91 / 68

    Custom cover
    - desk : 90 / 66
    - NC Off: 89 / 65
    - NC On: 85 / 65

After multiple test, it seems I have bad thermal paste, best temp at 79° and worst at 96° during throttlestop 1024M bench....

is there a post or a tuto for GE75 repaste and thermal pads ?

Well first of all ur cover it's really awesome!
Ur ram its overclock to 3460mhz? For me no reason to use it so high.i have test all mhz and 3200 was the best key..temp are higher no cause ram mhz,but cause cpu work faster and more effectively.really cant use the cpu at 3,8 or 3,9 with oc rams.temp hit 90c even if its repaste.so I downclock it to 3,6 3,7,but really it's so far better than stock rams and 3,9 cpu.some games +40 frames.
Carefully with ur monitor that u order.for me needed space of face at last 1 meter + for play with no problem.i had to remove the leg of the monitor and push it to the wall.now it's ok.but if I have again the choise to get a monitor I would get 27 inches. That monitor i have and that u order has 93ppi. That inches I thing it's best for 4k resolution. That all I wanna say its,u will not say wow for the resolution cause it's big and low ppi.maybe at laptop screen u will have cleaner image..
So think about it before u open it or go see some monitor urself.

Soz for my bad english.i hope u understand

Just go at bios overclocking menu and set uncore from 0 to 125. Be sure its (+) . Also for dont get any crash at throttlestop program make system agent +125 for be same as bios

Also u change xmp profile at bios? Cause one profil run 2400mhz and the other run 3200mhz.choose that 3200mhz

I dont use any advance settings at throttlestop. Just -150mv at cpu core and cache. System agent +125 and I change settings at clock speed every time I want, but I prefer around 3,6 3,7ghz. I have try many thinks to that cpu,and it's not worth.not any boost at all.so stock with undervolt it's the best for me.

Im noticing the laptop is running hotter when i uninstalled silent option and started using dragon center with throttle stop. I think dragon center is overclocking something. Or maybe dragon center is canceling out my undervolt. Can anyone let me know what setting are you using for SHIFT in the dragon center profile? Did you change vram off set and core clock off set manually or are you using one of the default settings like comfort or sport?

I suppose DC clashes with Throttlestop and XTU by cancelling settings on startup. Forget DC if you want to tweak seriously.

I tried with DC on startup, DC disabled on startup and DC uninstaled. I don't see any T° difference. (I'm not gonna try on a fresh W10 instal ;))

The only thing I saw is that DC on startup with GPU on "turbo" give +200Mhz for the GPU (rtx2070 for me)
