You can try repaste the laptop cause stock paste is really bad and maybe try to undervolt?

Hey i want to ask about ur undervolt setting after the IMON bios tweaks, since we have the same cpu. Did u get better temps when doing that?

I'm pretty sastify with my performance right now and just want to lower the temps as much as possible. Can i just set the AC/DC Loadline to lower and still keep the core running full 3,9ghz under load?

Well I did the Imon tweak so the cpu never power throttles. The core and cache is undervolted to -125 mv and I put max freq to the igpu to 1050 via bios cause I had some EDP OTHER error occasionally.
If u like to avoid sometimes the BSOD on idle states then you do the AC/DC loadline to 5 or 1 but u need to reset yr undervolt before. Then u can go upto -50 mv in both core and cache.
My temperatures are on high 30s on idle and upto 75 on load all cores 3.9 ghz.
On battery mode I set all cores to x22 and to the "power saver" through windows mobility center. With this tweak I can work on battery on deeper c-states (c7s or c8).
To do this u need to disable CFG Lock from bios and enable the Energy Efficient Turbo.
    Lots of wisdom eh?

So first reset Throttlestop, change AC/DC loadline to what you recommended and then just simply undervolt again with Throttlestop. I don't have to change any Imon stuff if i don't want to remove the power throttles right?
Your temps is so amazing... Do you have a custom bottom cover or custom cooling pad?
I thought the Energy Efficient Turbo should be off for constant voltage when we do the Imon tweak?
Yep eventhough i have already read the advance guide for 8750H it's still a bit hard to catch up

    Correct. See the attached.
Regarding Energy Efficiency Turbo if you disable it you will see some increase of temps for no reason and you dont want to.
The other tip is yr speed shift. Dont put on 0 cause you will always have some spikes on cpu and temperatures high. I recommend use 128 and 50% in power settings processor energy performance preference policy when plugged and 255 and 100% respectively on battery.

After I recommend u do undervolt at gpu..
It can work stable 1850 or 1900mhz at about 160 170 watt undervolted. No need push it at 200

Do you have a benchmark run? The video doesn't tell much as the fps changes from area to area.

I just tried it now but I am running at same time my 3d printer and cant stop it. Its need 7hrs for finish.but 3d printer doesnt use a lot of cpu. Btw this is at external monitor ,this mean disabled optimus. Dont know if this give perfomance at this test and cant try it now at laptop screen i am afraid maybe 3d print stop if open lid.
Btw u have flash ur gpu at 150watt?

Why ur game version says 596 and mine 14?

I've manage to reduce the temps a lot thanks for your help. But i don't know how much i can actually undervolt in throttlestop or msi afterburner after change the ac/dc loadline. I've been doing stress test with -85mV cpu for more than 3 hours without any problems. But i got blue screen every single time while playing gta 5. Is there any solutions to know what is causing the problem?

Don't know. But I think -85mV is too much for AC/DC loadline at 1. I can go upto -50 with that tweak.
For blue screen may be is yr gpu settings in afterburner.
The golden rule is not to undervolt as much as u like cause the cpu & gpu need juice. If not enough voltage then you might have BSOD or even the gpu throttles down and game crash .
You can enable log file in throttlestop with full details and if you encounter BSOD then you can retrieve this log file and check what causing the problem. Google it.

No i also read that with AC/DC loadline at 1 you shouldn't undervolt at all so i went for loadline 5. In log file shows no problem so i think it's the gpu. But my gpu is so weird. I get power limit a lot and i just can't find a good undervolt for it

There are plenty of youtube videos to assist you how to make a custom curve and actually undervolt it. I did it and I have no problems. Also don't try to increase the memory since you ain't gain anything at all.
If you like the max settings do the OC option in afterburner and save it as a profile. You will increase performance with the cost of temperatures. Or you can increase the Mhz by 10 each time and run benchmarks. This is mostly a trial and error process and takes time..

Thank you! The flashing process is very easy. And I still have my Mini DisplayPort working :)

I've got a 3DMark Time Spy score 8% better (graphics score) and 6% better (total) than my best previous score.

    Total score: 10313
    Graphics score: 11228
    CPU score: 7056

It might not look like a great improvement, but it will surely make a difference on my VR gaming where I was constantly reaching the 150 watt power limit.

I have BIOS mod, throttleStop, Silent Option and a custom curve on MSI Afterburner as follows (max 0.937 volt for 1905 Mhz, then flat):

So have you tried it, undervolt and other bios tweaks are working as before?

    Hi guys

    I have a Ge75 9sg 2080.

When I use my hdmi & LG e7 it is so laggy. Anyone have any of the same issue?

Even on desktop moving the mouse it’s just so laggy.

I’ve tried multiple hdmi cables but same issue....... the Xbox, Sat tuner etc all run fine on the tv.

    Am I missing some settings?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I also had the same problem first time using external monitor. What i did is go to Power options -> choose what closing the lid does -> Change settings that are currently unavailable -> turn off fast startup -> restart.

When it still there try to end Desktop Window Manager in Task manager, you don't have to shut it down permanently just do it once and stutter goes away.

Hi guys, does anyone know what BIOS 11A brings? I'm using 9th gen platform, however 8th gen should use same BIOS as far as I know :)
I received 11A version from Windows Update and it's newer for about two months from what MSI is linking on their support page.

Yes it has improved my ram especially games are using more now but....... it still seems like stuttering i don’t know. I think it’s just my eyes. Going from a 144hz small screen to a big tv. Just not use to seeing windows run on a tv for many many years. Next time going to access the LG special menu to check actual MHz it’s running. All because of flight sim lol.

    Hi guys

    Has anyone vbios to 200w?

I had been searching about the subject for a few weeks now. My 2080 runs about 74c.

I heard about using a GT series flash.

    Any help? Thanks.

Yes, I did it and it was a breeze. Mini DisplayPort is working perfectly. The VBIOS is from the GT76 indeed. Now it's really a Desktop RTX 2080 in practice (desktop versions are 215w I think).

I've got a 3DMark TimeSpy graphics score of 11228 (8% better than before) and the GPU temp is still OK.

With environment temp around 20c, my 2080 runs at max 78c on heavy gaming or TimeSpy, even using with a relaxed/quiet curve of the GPU fan on Silent Option (if I set GPU fan to max, I get max 73c). But that is only possible using a custom curve with Afterburner ( see my previous post http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...cussions-lounge.825828/page-362#post-11042306 ). If I leave the default voltage/frequency curve, it hits thermal throttle at 87c, as it goes crazy on 2025 MHz, 1.075 volt etc.

I repasted with Kryonaut. And undervolting the CPU is a must also, because the heatsink is shared by the GPU and CPU. When gaming, my CPU is locked at 4.0 (all cores) and gets a max temp of 91c sometimes (CPU intensive games) and I'm OK with that. The fans are not even at 100%, I will set it to 100% only when I get a higher environment temp.

I'm also using a book under the laptop (in the middle at the very back of it) to get a better intake of cool air from under. I'm using a book or something like that because I didn't find a compatible rubber stand to do it. Oh, I have dual boot. On my other (non-gaming) Windows, I lock the CPU at 3.1 and set a different curve on Silent Option (even more relaxed). Both fans are not even running most of the time, like right now with the CPU at 51c and both fans off.

Ahhh thanks so much. Unbelievable, I was looking for this post. I remember finding that like a week ago but I thought it was on another forum/site...... DUH lol. Gonna do the research before flash. Will report after.

So after vbios all is okay. Working fine. Thanks.

I have overclocked +115 and curve is at 1830 .900v max. Had 1 crash only for now. Will play with it more tomorrow.

What freq/volt are you running on?

Glad to hear that! Crash might be unsufficient voltage for that freq.

This is my curve on Afterburner, max 0.937 volt for 1905 MHz, then flat.

Guese it worked out for best, converted some awards from work into Amazon gift cards and sold them and grabbed an Asus VG35V monitor, just calibrating it now. Might take it back and grab a 49", will see how I like this after a couple days

I want to go Ultrawide but am going to wait for the Nvidia 4000 series before making the leap.

I'd recommend it. After calibrating it, this monitor is gorgeous. The 2070 handles the extra pixels with ease, I've seen no drop in fps in any games.

I work from home as well, this monitor is going to be great for work. I'm still debating about the 49" though. Have enough work awards that I can convert to Amazon points that the out of pocket cash will be minimal

I'd greatly appreciate if any one can help overclock my stock ram (Samsung C-die M471A2K43CB1-CTD) in 10SGS.

Hoping to get a freq of 2933 Mhz, as I can see it is difficult to overclock C dies further.

Below are the stock settings in Bios,

    freq - 2667Mhz
    tcl - 19
    trcd/trp - 19
    tras - 43
    tcwl - 18
    tfaw - 28
    trefi - 10400
    trfc - 467
    trrd_l - 7
    trrd_s - 4
    trtp - 10
    twr - 20
    twtr_l - 10
    twtr_s - 4
    mem volt - 1.2 v
    nmode - 1
    d11bwen[0] -0
    d11bwen[1] - 1
    d11bwen[2] - 2

    Hello,
    I have a GE 75 9SF with RTX 2070.
Repasted with Liquid Metall, Ram @2933, GPU +195 Core. CPU on -125mV. I get in Time Spy 8498p. Temps are nice.
Now I’m stuck. Mostly because of the locked Multiplikator on CPU and the locked Powerlimit of 115 Watts from the GPU.

Would like to get my hands on a vbios with maybe 130-150W Power Limit. Seems Nvidia has blocked the bios modding like to Maxwell/Kepler times.
Is there a way to increase the BCLK for some extra clock speed on CPU? I’m far away from running in the Powerlimit with the CPU. I have installed the new 11A Bios via Microsoft Update.

As I said before I’m stuck but it’s fun to OC more so if anyone has an Idea would be great. I would not prefer to do a shunt mod on this Notebook would prefer a vbios Update if possible.
