Hey Ken,
Any idea when the GE60's with the GTX 660Ms listed on your site are coming in?

Looks like the 675M is in the same ballpark as the 580M, with slightly higher edge on performance.
Notebookcheck is reporting the true kepler 680M will show a significant 36% stock increase over the 580M.
Can't wait to see those OC numbers. Hurry up, Dang You!
-
Does anyone know how much will I spend getting an upgrade from the 670m to the 675m? I originally wanted to buy the GT783 because of the 580m performance but when I was going to buy it I was out of stock because of the GT70.
-
Hello all.
I have one question I hope you can answer for me.
I´ve just ordred the MSI GT70 0NC-029NE, the version without an ssd installed, Can I simply buy two of these OCZ Nocti mSATA SSD 30GB, put them in, and have the Super RAID work out of the box ?
Oh and if it does, is there a different type/brand of mSATA SSD that would be even better ? -
If they sold the adapter alone, I was going to try it with my mSata drives. My guess, is that it's not MSI specific and that it would work.
I'm sure some of the dealers would know. -
How do you remove the keyboard on the GT60. I removed the one screw on the back that has the label for it. but cant seem to get the keyboard to pop out. i am trying to replace my wifi card on my GT60.

I'm so stoked! My gt70 with the gtx 675 has shipped from Ken..will give you a full report probably Tuesday when it arrives.. Wednesday at the latest. This will be my first non asus notebook. Very exciting!

In order to remove the touch panel/speaker panel to get access to the wifi card, all you need is a small, flat head screwdriver.
Take note of the 5 small rectangular slots above the keyboard, below the touch panel.
Using one hand as leverage, place the screwdriver into either the far left or far right slot and work your way to the other side prying up on the panel using those 5 slots.
That panel pops out of place without having to mess with anything else.
MSI built these laptops with ease of service in mind. Your wifi adapter will be just to the left of the power button once the panel has been removed. -
-
Yeah it's not hard to remove the speaker panel. Just be careful not to get it scratched/dented. I covered a flat head screwdriver with a a microfiber cloth and it worked well.
-
There are no screws involved in getting there. Just pop off the bar and you'll find it laying there.

I pop off the Touch Control Bar a bit differently.
I use a plastic knife to go between the Control Bar and the case and pry it up from the ends.
You can fashion the knife from a plastic picnic knive or use a thin guitar pick.Attached Files:

Hi guys.
I hope you can help me with this problem, i have just installed the new max payne 3 on my MSI GT70 Laptop with GTX 670M Grapics
As you all know there are problems with Max Payne 3, my particulair problem is when i have installed max payne and try to run it, i get this error: Max Payne 3 has stopped working.
I later found out that if i choose to run the program with my integrated intel HD Graphics it will start up, but you all know this is not the graphic driver i want to use, it's not meant for gaming.
So how do i solve this problem? i have tried to seach all over the web for a Nvidia Optimus drivers but cant find any.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
hopeing for quick and correct reply ! -
Remember... when the power light is white, the Intel graphics are being used. When its orange, the nvidia card is being used.

I just received the GT70 and I have a question regarding the Drive configuration. I got mine with the 750GB drive and it is configured split between a 375GB drive and a 250GB drive.
I use Steam pretty heavy and am afraid that all of the games I have purchased through the years may not fit nicely on the 375GB portion.
Is there a way to configure this as 1 drive? Or a way to tell Steam to use both drives?
Thanks much. -
^
You can use Disk Management to resize/merge your partitions. Just type it in the search box in the Start menu and open it up.
Look for your drive and you will see both partitions. From there you can right click on the smaller 250GB partition and choose whether to shrink it or delete it and then expand the 375GB one to cover the whole drive (by right clicking on the 375GB partition).
Hope this helps. -

Am I missing something..... your thoughts? I also note your AfterBurner does not reflect the driver version. Most likely future drivers will improve the 675M's overall Vantage scores.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to string the 'D' partition, however, I am unable to extend the C partition. It will allow me to shrink it, but the option to extend it is not available. It is grayed out.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks again! -

hi there i just got my gt60, and well... i have a problem, i want the Ui to apper??? when i press the Fn+ sound up etc etc.
or what ever the name is...but that shows you what your activating.
and on another thing....my google chrome crashes all the time...fresh install -
Also, it sounds like you're having some permission/rights issues. Are there other users on this machine? A fresh install of chrome should not crash. I'm not sure, but maybe there a x64 installer for chrome? The os you have is 64-bit. Or vice-versa, try the x86 installer. But make sure to properly uninstall first.

I'm curious about the driver, also. I have read that the 675m is just a rebranded 580 Fermi, since Kepler hasn't been launched yet..So those numbers aren't surprising to me. The 680m may be when we see the Kepler and more dramatic numbers, right? -
Have had my gt70 for about a week. Bought mostly for playing Swtor. Plays the game fine (dropped internet connection sometims but not sure if that is the laptop or the airport that I am using as a router). The issues that I am having is that all flash video and pretty much every video I go to watch online shows up like this
I have tried re-loading all the video drivers that I can find on the MSI download website. I did try to use the live update tool but it was a total failure and did not work properly.
Not sure where to go from here. I have been running Mac for the last 5 years and the last windows system I really had any exerience running was xp.
Help please any suggestions. -
Did you go straight to the adobe site for the update? I had some odd green screens when I updated my flash player and still get it once in a while depending on the source of the vid. If it is a copy of the video on youtube there is an issue more often for me. This is on an Asus g73s with a gtx460m & latest drivers.
Here is a whole thread relating to this on the Nvidia forum.. some get the pink such as you are .. possibly related to the driver version. Let me know if this helps!
flickering pink screen and artifacting when watching Youtube - NVIDIA Forums - Page 3 -
-
Is your issue in ToR or just watching youtube videos?
Adobe Flash and Shockwave player is not related to your GPU but a separate install .
Adobe - Downloads
( Apple doesn't use Adobe flash so you wouldn't have had experience with it) -
! have any other suggestions?
thanks for your try ! -
Windows to your liking. Other options might cause you to lose your data.
Did you fully delete the smaller partition in Disk Manager so that it is now an unallocated space? I know when it becomes unallocated you can then expand the other partition into it. -
downloaded the newest flash to update and still end up with the same issue.
Not to be a jerk but its junk like this that made me switch to Mac in the first place. Sort of wonder what the hell I am donig buying a pc again. -

Install the free inSSIDer program to view your signal strength and find best channels.
If you have the Intel card try the new beta driver,v15.5.0.30
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/intel lan-wan.htm
The graphics corruption is almost certainly,IMO,due to a bad graphic driver installation.
Go into the control panel and in Programs and Features uninstall all the NVIDIA stuff.
Delete NVIDIA folder on the boot drive,C:NVIDIA
Reinstall the x64 graphics driver downloaded from the MSI GT70 site and install using CUSTOM settings.
In the Custom settings check the box to to uninstal the old driver and do clean fresh install.
The best driver right now is only v295.65.
The GTX670M and GTX675M cannot use the new Verde 301.42 Official WHQL driver. -
GT60-004US. Checking my temperatures with CPIUID HW Monitor, I'm getting these temps just when browsing - no games:
Core#0 - 60C, min 55C, Max 68C
Core#1 - 61C, min 54C, Max 68C
Core#2 - 60C, min 50C, Max 63C
Core#3 - 59C, min 53C, Max 65C
Maybe I'm just not used to Ivy Bridge, but these seem high to me. Haven't turned on Supercooling Fan, but don't really want a jet engine sound all the time. Apologies if something like this has been posted, but searching the thread for "temperatures" just gets invalid_search_query. -
I've done everything tried to force the settings I even followed buddy's instruction on uninstalling all nvidia stuff and re downloading still can't load up max payne
-
The OP stated that its only a problem on Youtube videos and not in games.. this is an Adobe Flash issue not Nvidia.. his GPU is fine..
I think what he is describing is a known issue with Adobe and youtube vids. It's not a specific MSI issue however it may be related to the Nvidia Drivers version and particular versions of Flash player installed.
To the OP - please don't mess with the GPU if you aren't sure what you're doing 100% . I suggest you call your reseller on Monday since you only have had this for a week, but again, from what you have said and described, it isn't the notebook being defective.
Also, google the youtube issue and research more. There are tons of links with fixes. There are many different circumstances and the fix isn't universal/one size fits all for some reason, so you have to sift through the links. Mine is fixed now to a point that I no longer get green screen when I open it up to full screen. This happens when its a copy of a copy on youtube only. Peculiar issue, but it can be worked out.

Yeah I tried that but then it just crashes its like it will only load up with the integrated ..almost like max Payne doesn't support the gtx 670m and everyone just waiting for the new drivers to drop for thing because nothing is working I've tried everything on rockstars site they're useless for support same
With nvidia just wanna get this to work..play diablo 3 fine with it orange comes
On all that but Max Payne just won't use it -

If you saw my previous post, the 675M had an edge over the 580M with a 'stock' Vantage run...... so Yes, I am a bit surprised with the 'OC' AfterBurner results. Appears my 580M walked all over it.
680M, Kepler, dramatic numbers? Oh Yeah! A projected stock out-of-the-box performance increase of 36% (early leaked benchmarks - and immature drivers) over the 580M. This is somewhat preliminary of course, but still cause for me to get a little excited nonetheless. Can't wait to see those numbers! BTW, I am hearing a 680M release by the end of the month. One can only hope!
-
Such bs nvidia releases the 670m
Without anything to support it what was the top of buyin top of the line if it can't run the newest games -
-
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
In the case of the GT783 & the 580M, things went smoother because the card was an nVidia production, sent directly from them to MSI.
Also expect issues when new games are released. Most new drivers are released specifically addressing new game (or other software) issues.
To repeat from my previous post...... neither the 670M nor 675M are presently supported in nVidia's Verde Driver Program...... BUT THEY ARE SURE TO BE SOON!
I feel your pain...... been there many times, and no amount of complaining really ever helped....... it's just how it is. Try to smile knowing help is on the way...... and best of luck to you guys.

Lol thanks
