So GT70 with 675 is already sold by Msi or only by custom builders?
When we see model with 680? -
i just placed an order for the gt60 with 670m..
i was kinda torn between the 17x with the 7970m but got decided to go with the gt60... im not much of an enthusiast so i felt the 670m would be pretty sufficient to play at medium to high settings(my first look at a 17 incher and was shocked at the size)and hope to upgrade to the 680m in a couple of years...

Request to people regarding the new nVidia beta driver 304.48.
nVidia fixed the notebook SKU's not present in the setup information files. The beta driver is now installable without modification of NVMI.inf.
Could you please try out the beta and report any performance or graphical problems you might find in thread Official NVIDIA 304.48 BETA Display Driver Feedback Thread For NVIDIA Geforce Desktop/Notebook/ION GPUs - NVIDIA Forums on the nVidia forums?
For me performance with the beta driver currently is actually worse than the official MSI driver. As far as I could tell Diablo III still runs fine like I mentioned earlier, however slightly less fast with the beta drivers. Starcraft II performance however plummets with the beta drivers.
Any Starcarft II players here who also experience about 50% FPS drop with the beta drivers? For details check out the post on Official NVIDIA 304.48 BETA Display Driver Feedback Thread For NVIDIA Geforce Desktop/Notebook/ION GPUs - NVIDIA Forums - Page 20 -
Has anyone tried removing the back cover on GT60 to replace hard drives? I removed the six screws but when popping the back cover off there appears to be one "hidden" screw right next to the recessed part you can begin to pull the back cover off. The rest of it pops off with a modicum of force but it feels like I'm going to break something trying pull of the last part.
I was able to just rotate the cover around that one spot to replace the two hard drives (changed to 256GB SSD and 750 GB Momentus XP from 2x 500GB Caviar Blacks). But I'd like to be able to actually remove the whole back cover. -

Benchmark the SSD in both bays.
In the XOTIC PC GT60 video at 19:25 it shows that 7 screws need to be removed to take off the back cover.

Hey guys I need some comment on why u would buy the GT60 over the GE60.......
Thank you!!!!!!!! -
I'm wondering if I should get this laptop or should I just get one from Xotic? I've been hearing that bestbuy has lower performance laptops compared to other retailers. Only reason why I was looking at best buy is because I have 18 months to pay there.

I have what may be (probably is) a dumb question. I just got the GT70 yesterday and i see that the dual SSD drives are the default C drive , and the much larger regular hard drive is default D.Seeing as most programs try to install under drive C that means anything I want to install i will have to change the default drive to D on installation .......so what programs if any should i install on the RAID drive C?Or should i just put everything on D??Also why didnt MSI make the larger drive the C seeing as thats where presumably most people will install programs or am I completely missing the boat here?

The "smaller" C: drive is your dual SSD array. This gets you unbelievable speeds around 800Mbps, or some crazy number like that. The larger drive (I'm presuming 750GB) is a platter and will get you 120Mbps tops.
The reason that the array is C: is because that's where Windows will/should be installed. You want things on the SSD's that you want to launch fast. There's not point in installing your favorite programs to D: just to save room on C:. 128GB is plenty of space for the OS and your day-to-day necessity programs. It's also room for a few of your favorite games. -
Anyone checked this out for compatibility?

Why not just install your programs too D: ? You can also reassign folders such as documents and downloads too D:

Hi guys.
I just bought a GT70 and immediately it has a problem, its a bit of a weird one and I've never seen it before. Hoping somebody here can help.
Straight out of the box, my GT70 had a boot loop and never loaded windows. Pressing DEL to enter the bios setup and then exiting would get me out of the loop. Now the laptop boots sometimes straight to windows, and sometimes I have to bypass the loop.
Every half hour or so when using the laptop, all of a sudden menus (like the start menu) will start to disappear as soon as they appear. This happens, for example, in the middle of installing software and having to select the destination folder. When this is happening, if I load a browser and start typing into google, i can't finish my search query without the machine automatically putting spaces in, or running a search for the first few letters of my search term- and then the text box will flash repeatedly quickly, almost as if I am repeatedly pressing the enter or ESC key.
I don't want to have to send the laptop back after having it less than 24 hours. Any ideas? -
i have a weird problem with my gt70
just bought it...i cant view youtube..video is choppy and is broken
my flash player is updated..and if i right click the disktop and go to niv. it says its updated as well
please help -
I exchanged for a new GT60 at the retailer where I bought it. -
-
Thanks trohricht. Of course I bought it online from another city, so can't bring it back to the shop. I've scheduled a pick-up from MSI tomorrow. Their customer service was not apologetic at all. Feel very annoyed spending so much on a laptop and having to send if for repair straight from the box.
-
Did anyone receive the GT70 as a gift, because I got it for my graduation present, but when registering, for the warranty, should I use the name and address of the person who bought this laptop for me. His name and address is on XoticPC's proof of purchase.

I am also having issues with the spacebar on my MSI GT60 laptop. I purchased a UK model with twin SSD's an it absolutely screams, the matte screen is amazing. Unfortunately I also use the laptop for work so I need a reliable keyboard. MSI have already replaced the keyboard for me through D&J Henry, however the new keyboard is even worse. I contacted the repairers D&J Henry and they said that MSI acknowledge that this is a know, unfixable, issue. The user needs to select the spacebar between the illuminated dashes for it to work reliably, so that is the parameters to which D&J Henry unit test before shipping out.
This just seems so wrong to me. The spacebar is only 8cm wide, striking on, or between the two illuminated dashed lines on the spacebar gives an area that is only half that, 4cm! Surely this is not fit for purpose? -
All right, thanks for your help
-
-
Is there a way to lower the brightness of the keyboard from the keyboard? I've tried fn+(+ and - numpad keys) but that just seems to change the tint of the color...
-
What up with all these keyboard problems? Sounds like I should get a sager instead of the MSI.
-
I am also concerned about the keyboard problems. I was thinking about getting the GT60 but not anymore. Do you guys think MSI has fixed the new computers it's shipping out? Or are we all screwed?
-
Was playing Diablo 3 for 10 minutes, turbo boost and fan boost on. The computer made a "pew" noise and immediately shut off. No lights or anything register on the laptop, it seems 100% bricked.
Has this happened to anyone else? -

Absolutely nothing anywhere.
The battery was fully charged too, I think the whole motherboard must be fried. -

This is MSI's stance on the spacebar issue:-
Dear Customer,
The keyboard in your notebook was replaced and is working properly as every unit is tested before shipping it back. The sensor for the space bar is smaller than the actual space bar. It means that you have to hit the space bar in the correct place otherwise the unit will not register it. This is not recognized as a fault.
Kind regards,

Yeah nothing works, even on straight AC. It's fried
Only 24C or so

Can anyone with the GT60 that shipped with the two 500GB WD Blacks in RAID 0 - that upgraded one HDD to a SSD please post the Intel Rapid Storage Manager showing if the speed is running at 6GB/s or 3GB/s?
I have been battling a issue of my Crucial M4 128GB running in SATA 2 not SATA 3, I am beginning to think I have a defective drive and I am trying to confirm someone with the GT60 is running at SATA 3 speeds with a SSD. -
I wonder how MSI would react if every single GT60/70 owner submitted ONE HUNDRED AND TWO support tickets - one for each affected key? -
Hey Guys,
First forum poster, so i recently bought a GT60 and was wondering if it is possible to get the same graphics performance in games with the battery as you can with power, probably not advised as it would drain it like crazy...i just want to know if its possible
Cheers,

Just swapped laptops, lets hope this one doesn't suddenly brick on me.
That being said I played around with the demo model at the store, and both of my laptops keyboards. Haven't had any issues with the keys not registering... -
What I read in a review said the laptop downclocks the nvidia card when using battery power so much that it performs worse than the intel graphics.

I just saw a potential MS-16F3 with 3610QM and 670M 1.5GB, 15" 1080p and DVD Burner. 8GB RAM (freq?). 500GB hard drive, 1 blank hard drive bay (HDD not included).
1500$
Ports is identical to image at 1st post/
Concern is that the touchpad and media bar button isn't like the GT60 pic in 1st post. The usable buttons is only 2, the keyboard light and one that I don't remember. And that it doesn't have a SUPER-RAID slot.
Is this a REAL 16F3?
Will get some pics wed next week -
-
Btw, 1500$ is with tax. -
So, is there any solution found? I really need help with this!
Thanks in advance! -
will msi release gt70 with 7970m/680m? when?
