That one that you highlighted is an adapter for 2.5" drives to a 3.5" bay.
Search RJtech for a msi drive bracket. But, like I said, many people just wedge a piece of rubber eraser in place and it works fine.

Anyone happen to have a picture of the eraser thing?

Anyone with an advice on what to do with this problem I'm having?
We recently got a GT60 0NE-202US. The O.S. has crashed during a guild wars 2 gaming session and the system doesn't detect the GTX 680M video card since the crash. We've already tried recovery and also a fresh install of Windows. The fan also seems to be stuck at full speed.
Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. -
I've seen this problem before the GTX680M can not be detect anymore after crash. It's the video card died and needs to be replace. -
By the way, was it on the same model that you saw this problem occur before and what was the cause of, or most likely cause of the GTX 680M dying. -

What is s bar? Should I install it?

Quick question:
I've had my GT70 0ND-219US for about a week now. It's running everything that I've thrown at it game-wise (BF3, TSW, WoT, STO, etc) just as I read it would. Performance has been exactly what I expected. Very pleased.
I'm not big on benchmarking, but I usually make a few passes on a new rig to be sure it's in line with expectations. 3dMark Vantage is steady at 15,000 but for some reason 3dMark 11 craps out in the 700's (I was expecting to see about 3000 from what I'd read and from what 3dMark says I should be seeing).
I've tried running the test on different settings, but just can't figure out what's killing that score. I've googled for an answer, but I'm not really seeing anything more than my score should be in the 3000's. If I were to make a wild guess, I'd say that the test is running on the onboard video and not the 675m (it's a slideshow). Not a big issue (as I said, all my games are running flawlessly) but I'd like to sort out what's going on with that score.
Windows is all up to date and I'm running nVidia's 306.23.
Any thoughs?
Thanks in advance -

Is it possible to set a fan profile with the 680m? I tried using afterburner and precision X. Neither show fan speed or give me an option to create a curve.

Thanks. Yeah, I have tried changing setting (performance/balanced/quality) as well as advanced settings (tried shutting a few things off, restoring the settings, etc) and re-testing. I've uninstalled 3DMark11 and downloaded it from three different locations to rule out a glitch with the software.
I keep getting results like these no matter what:

What's odd (or good) is that nothing else appears to be suffering in the way of performance. All my games are running very smoothly.... and 3DMark Vantage is hitting right on the projected scores (15000).
Edit: updated to nVidia's 306.97 and the Intel 4000 to 8.15.10.2696 with no change
Again, I suspect that for some reason 3DMark 11 is running on the Intel GPU and not the 675m (just as DXDIAG and my Windows Experience Score are doing)

It's an orange power light in 3DMark 11 (as well as 3DMark Vantage and all video games). It stays white during the DXDIAG run (which I expected after seeing it mentioned in some reviews) and of course it's white during normal Windopws operation. I assume that's the normal indicator (white for onboard Intel and orange for the Nvidia card).

HELP!!!!!!! Bought a Samsung SSD. Have a Msi 0ND 204us. 2 64gb in raid 0. But im just putting this new one where the 7200 hdd scorpio was. So the bios see the card. Device manager sees the card. But cant access card in Computer. Only see my 2 64gb in raid 0?

Have a look at this:
Partitioning, formatting, and installing SSDs in Windows 7 or Vista when SSD is an additional drive
Hope that helps -
thanks yeah i think i formatted wrong the first time. reformatted and now seems all is well.

Hey, does anyone know of an alternative to the Led Keyboard Manager?
I just need more choice of colours for the 'wave mode'.
And does anyone know why my fps is so slow? People on youtube can get 60fps in skyrim while I barely get 20. -
On another note...does anyone else have a problem where one speaker is louder than the other? My left speaker is slightly quieter than my right. It also sounds like it has less high-end.
I'm a musician, so I'm very particular about my sound.
I have an MSI GT60-ONC -
Hi, Does anyone nows if there's a chance that i could upgrade my 670m to a 680m?
-
Hey guys
I have gt60 with the gtx670m
I reinstalled the drivers for the 670 and now the power light is white until I login then it constantly flashes between white and orange, still turns orange when gaming or on turbo.
What should I try, so far I have olny tried reinstall of the intel 4000 card drivers from the msi drivers cd.
Any ideas I could try would be good
Cheers

On the "Help" tab in 3DMark11, there is a dropdown that lists the recognized video cards. Does your nVidia card show up there? On my system, only the Intel 4000 GPU appears (and it's obviously the card that the benchmark is using on the test)
Thanks -
Does anyone know where the 'Turbo On' logo is stored that flashes when you push the turbo button?
I want to edit it with a picture of Chuck Norris so it says my computer is going into Chuck Norris mode when I push Turbo, since I can rightfully do that with my OC that gives my graphics card up to 25% better performance from stock. -
Has anyone installed windows 8 on their GT70? Its telling me I need a driver, but none of the drivers from the site seem to be what it wants.
-
in the GT70, Is the wireless card upgradable? If so, where is it located? I cant seem to find a clear image/video that shows the card. I'm guessing the card is, but just wanted a confirm.

Question about dual booting from multiple SSDs. SSDs are a new animal to me, and bring with them some quirks, especially in boot and setup, so I figure I'll ask first before diving in blind on monday.
I will have two Samsung 830 SSDs in my build (NOT in RAID), and I would like to dual boot two different copies of Win 7, each on a different SSD, and both OS's capable of seeing the other drive.
1) SSD quirks when trying to do this? Do I need to slipstream SP1 onto my CD first, or will it work without SP1? Will the simple procedure of installing one, then the other suffice?
2) MSI specific hardware quirks when trying to have both bays bootable at the same time?
(yes, I know only one is sata III, yes I know it seems a little strange to do it this way... but I have my thought out reasons, just asking about the execution side of things.) -
Beta EC firmware for GT70 and GT60 available on MSI's forum:
BETA EC for GT60 (16F3) & GT70 (1762) -
THX, good to know. I will check this. I see also newer main BIOS 30.O.
-
Have been noticing strange behavior with my GT60:
1.) After updating to latest nvidia driver...fans stay on more...its louder...and red light is always on...its definitely keeping the GPU on...so im assuming were stuck never being able to update the driver...
2.) Does the keyboard LED lighting work during post/before logging into windows? On the rare occasion mine turns on when i power on, but most of the time not until i log in and the LED manager launches.
3.) My left side, most towards the back USB port does not recognize my phone, but any other port does. And my right side USB 2.0 port wont recognize mice. The mouse lights come on, but no pointer movement, also noticed my wireless card wont recognize there.
Anyone heard of these? -
There is a piece of lint beneath my f key so I was wondering if it is safe to remove one of the keys separately?
-
I have too also noticed 1 and 2. Sometimes the light will switch to white but usually it is on red now. The led manager also doesn't activate for me until i log in.

Just a warning to potential GT-60 customers ....
I bought a GT60 less than 5 months ago based on what seemed like good reviews. My first MSI laptop so I was a little hesitant given I only knew MSI as a motherboard manufacture in the past. Everything was fine for the the first couple of months and then the charger would work only intermittently. Seemed like a connection issue as it would work if I fiddled with the plug (where it inserts into the laptop). Now it wont charge at all and I am the owner of a $1500 brick.
I assumed MSI would gladly fix this as the laptop has had regular use and is only 5 months old (this is something I might expect to see after 2 or 3 years use). Here is the response I got from them:
"MSI Tech. 10/24/2012 Hello Matthew, looks like you have a damaged DC jack due to loose connection. Unfortunately, a DC jack is vulnerable if not used properly, this includes not having enough slack on the power cable which caused abnormal wear on the base of DC jack. This type of damage is not covered under warranty therefore you will be charged for $100 for the repair. Let me know if you wish to proceed with this service and I can go ahead and issue you a RMA#, thank you."
Safe to say I will never buy another MSI product again. Completely unacceptable that I am blamed for a failure after 5 months of regular use and offered this generous "repair" by the company for $100 out of pocket and likely 1 month of downtime of my computer. Guess this is what you get when dealing with a Chinese parts manufacture instead of an actual computer company that values customers. Not much I can do but warn others and also stay away from any MSI products in the future. -
BTW: This thread should help you with the disassembly. -
I'm pretty new to PC gaming, understand a little about hardware from my AIT course this year but not a great deal. I'm looking into PC gaming but I still need a laptop for school and I the MSI GT60 is the one I'm after.
I was wondering if anyone from Australia has bought one and could help me on the costs, my budget is $2000 -
Just got my license today for my GT60, running the upgrade assistant while I am typing this. Did anyone install Windows 8 yet?
-
Hi everyone, i just purchased an openbox MSI GT70 0ND-219US on newegg. Can anyone tell me what i have to do to test that laptop to make sure it is working perfect? Thanks!
-
When will the GT70 446US be available? Everywhere I look it's listed as a pre-order and I cannot find a release date.
Thanks for the help. -
Hello.
Send It to ERC Poland . MSI in Poland repairs Power Jack ON WARRANTY! Of course if you didn`t break something by using force. Remember best service ever (user friendly) is situated in Polland.

Did a clean install for Win8, everything seems to be working great except for my camera. On the MSI driver page it says "This device uses the native driver bundled in operating system." for the Camera.
Any advice on how to get it working? -
-
I was able to successfully install a clean version of Windows 8 on the GT60. Installed it in RAID 0 and I should say, RAID performance is better than Windows 7, average copy speeds is 38mbps. Also I was able to enable the Windows 8 gestures on the touchpad. Till now the experience with Windows 8 has been great!

Like, does the trackpad support multitouch afterall? -
Also the wifi seems to be instantly connected after sleep and boy ohh boy, the resume after sleep is instant...like a phone/tablet -
Thanks for the response, Ill +rep when I get to a computer
In windows 7 did the gt60 support multi touch gestures?
---edit---
+repped
And found this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=694398
An Alienware guy used a hp trackpad driver for his m17x, if anyone wants to try this for a gt60 it'd be awesome -
Maybe I'll wait a few months until I start hearing consistent reports of good driver compatibility, and then do an upgrade.
