If anyone wants to buy a msi gt60 for a couple hundred bucks cheaper or has a buddy that's looking to get one, I'm selling mine on ebay. It's literally in brand new condition, I just need the money. It would likely be rude to just blatantly use this platform to sell an item so please PM if you're interested at all and I will send you the link.

All selling on this forum has to go through the members market (read the rules on post counts and such needed to advertise there first).

Haha I like it, you can disable the bigfoot boot agent if you are not using network boot by the way.

No I am talking about the boot agent which lets you boot from the network (say a HDD connected to the network).

I've got them all disabled except for the main SSD if you hit F11 it will popup asking if you want to boot to another device.

Well it's called the PXE option rom or something similar in the stock bios and it will come up regardless of your boot options unless you disable it I think in the "advanced" tab.

Yes you wont have the bit after your SATA controller screen asking if you want to enter the options menu for it.

Seemed to find that when I shutdown it doesn't remember the settings and re-enables the boot manager.

Press Shift + F10 when you see boot manager message and then go to Boot Order and choose ROM Disable, press F4 to save and exit.

Once it's disable it won't show up anymore, not even in the BIOS boot options.

Done that, and yet it still recovers to default. I also chose to boot only to BIOS boot devices order (19h - omitting Bigfoot Boot Agent within BIOS).
Now I did previously disable boot agent in the BIOS order before enacting the command. Could this have cocked things up?

Always seems to be something up with this GT70!

After select RAM Disable and press F4 boot straight to system BIOS > Boot and make sure Bigfoot is not there anymore if it does then disable it and press F10 to save and exit.

I have done that as I removed it inside of the BIOS beforehand.
Also noticed upon bootup that the LED keyboard changes various colours (or sometimes none) before entering Windows.
    Something wrong with BIOS?

I hate the backslash to the right of the spacebar. I,m constantly hitting it instead of a space. Is there a way to remap that key to type a space instead?

Nothing wrong with your BIOS. the bigfoot boot agent automatic enables by itself on my unit too after shutoff or enter the BIOS for some reason.

Okay. Now I have downloaded the unlocked BIOS ROM GT70-10M. I want to make absolutely certain it will work on the 0ND model.
I believe it will for the 0NE. Can you confirm this for me?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Any owner of Gt60/Gt70 that bought originally with one hdd only spec can confirm that the notebook do not support secondary hdd in bay2?

You can see the pic link below to get what i mean. There seem to be a port or controller missing in bay2. I

'm yet to hear from msi official but the shop's tech where i bought notebook said my version doesnt support secondary hdd. I disputed the explanation and believe it is rather a case of poorly assembled unit. Can any owner confirm the explanation is true?

    Tks in advance.

O, that's sux. So i'm not the only case? It will be nice if msi will spec this info on the website before i bought this machine.

So much for a supposedly beast machine. :(

Did they replace it free of charge for the one you saw? The shop where i bought mine said my version is as it and wouldnt further the matter.

So my best bet is for msi to confirm this is not actually the case, i emailed msi a week ago and so far they havent reply me yet.

Every time I try to play ANY game using my Nvidia card, my drivers stop working after a few minutes and the game crashes. I also randomly get the notification that my drivers have stopped working when I'm not even using the GPU/when I'm playing a game that I have assigned to the integrated graphics. I've had my GT70 0NC-494US for only about a month now and I have not done anything excessive to it (I've been using it as is, straight out of the box). I don't think that my fans/temperatures are the issue, but perhaps I'm wrong... Could it be because of Windows 8? I have no idea why this is happening and it's extremely frustrating.

Question regarding updating my Intel HD graphics Drivers. Is it safe to uninstall them and install fresh? Downloaded them from MSi's Driver page and running the setup to install them fails (Just like when I try installing Nvidia's Drivers, I have to uninstall let Windows install the generic Drivers then uninstall them and select the latest Driver downloaded - Doesn't seem to work any other way for me) Don't want to uninstall the HD Graphics Driver and end up with no picture.

Yes it's safe to uninstall Intel HD Graphics from Control Panel > Programs. Once it's uninstalled and reboot Windows will install Microsoft Generic drivers and you can install the new drivers.

Hey all, got a question I need help with. I'm in the market for a 15inch GT60. I'm in Canada, and when I look online there are currently two seemingly identical configs with a slight price difference. I am planning on picking up the lower cost one, however I wanted to get some opinions here first.

    The lower cost is the GT60 0NC-250US - 1449.99
    The other is the GT60 0ND-250US - 1480.99

From all I can gather these laptops have identical specs; I'm assuming the 0NC model is just an older factory run? It doesn't exist on the msi site anymore, only the 0ND config does.

Does anyone know if there is a difference? Is it worth 50 bucks?

Also, if you know where I can get one shipped to Canada for under 1400, I'd love that info!

    thanks!!

Has anyone had their Webcam go bad on them?

My machine recently does not even recognize in device manager that a camera exists on my machine. I have tried scanning for hardware with no luck. I took the plastic cover with the touch controls and looked at the connections and they seem good. (I was thinking the cable that comes from the camera would be plugged in one of the several connectors under the panel)

Ken@GenTech can this easily be repaired? I cannot recall when I replaced my panel how the webcam is mounted.

I really want to get this thing running again as I recently moved across country and need to Skype with people back home.

Thanks for any insight anyone can provide.

    Hi.
    I am currently using GT70 0ND 444US
    CPU : i7-3630qm
    Ram 4GB X3 (DDR3)
    GPU: nvidia GTX 675m 2GB
    Windows 8, x64

    1.
I tried to OC ("Turbo" which there is a button that OC my gpu) through MSI AfterBurner and GPU clocks and Memory Clock went up flawlessly. (620mhz -> 700mhz, 1500mhz -> 1650mhz) (no voltage changes and the following problems occur in lower OC'ed settings)
But whenever I OC my gpu and run any games, I get random GPU usage drops. (like 99% -> 35%) and obviously the FPS plummets horrendously. (temp is about 80-90 without turbo fan)
I saw some people OC'ed GTX 675m on the internet and they say it runs without any problems.
Is there something wrong that I am not noticing?

    2.
    and about hardware installation.
Does this model have two sata adapter?
I would like to put a SSD in it, but I saw some people posting that they have only one adapter.
also is GT70 0ND friendly to upgrade to other graphics card? (like 680m or next gen etc)

    3. Miscellaneous problems about my laptop.
I bought this laptop about 2~3 weeks ago and I am loving my laptop.
But I see some problems that worries me.
about fan control and temperature, I get 90C on Far Cry 3 (without Turbo Fan mode) and 78C (with Turbo Fan mode). In other games like Saints Row : the third (84C/70C) (on flat desk setting)
without Turbo Fan mode, I have no problem with the fan noise, but turbo Fan mode really irritates me.
It is like an aircraft engine. I want to know how other users deal with the temperature and fan noise.

    4.
And the last question. Does this model runs flawlessly when it is downgraded to windows 7?

When I got this laptop, it was partitioned by GPT drives (UEFI settings) and I just wiped the disk (by deleting all the partitions) because the windows 7 CD that I had only supported MBR disks.
After managing to install windows 7 on my laptop, I got nvlddmkm.sys BSOD whenever I "successfully" installed graphics driver (it usually happened within 1~2 minutes after I saw the desktop screens)
I could not find any solutions that helped me, and now I am back to windows 8 which I don't get any nvlddmkm.sys BSOD. (tried the latest driver 309.10, and the stock driver which it came with the CD 290 something and both of them gave me same error, also I reinstalled windows 7 about three times.)
Plus, I used the disk to other computers and ran perfectly.
Any suggestions or solutions to this problem?

If you have a suggestion or a solution that might help any of my problems, Please leave some posts or comments.
    Thank you for your time.

My gt70 has started to throttle when overclocking, iv found a modded vbios to fix this on the retail version but not the barebone version. Does anyone know of a way to stop throttling on the barebone model?

Hi, i have a GT70 0NC, with the following specs:

    i7 3610qm
    GTX 675M 2gb
    12 GB RAM
    750 GB HDD
    Win7 64 bits

The problem is: When i am playing games like GTA IV, the gpu usage drops from 99% to 30% because of the CPU, i don't know exactaly why, but when i'm in the original map of liberty city, the gpu drops causing lags, but when i enter the add-on map called Red Dead Desert (new version) the gpu usage stays at 99% all the time, and i really don't care if my notebook will melt, i just want to play my games at full speed. This specifically case occured to GTA IV, in other games like Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Assassins Creed 3, Call Of Duty Black ops 2 and etc, the gpu usage issue happens all the time.
And i know there is something to do with the CPU, and maybe with the 78c temps.

    Thanks in advance.

Does the GT70 0ND-444US suffer from the throttling gpu issue also? If yes is there any way other than a custom bios *to wimpy to try a modded bios* to stop it from throttling and how high can you OC the gtx 675m?

GTX675M is rebadged from GTX580M but GTX580M can be overclock with higher score, so GT70 0ND-444US does seem throttling. if you don't want to use modded BIOS you can try throttlestop see how it performs. Attached screenshot is the highest OC clock I can get with MSI afterburner.

Thank you. Ive heard of people having good results using nvidia inspector which can apparently bypass the throttling by forcing a pstate.

They are locked together on fermi so just double your core clock and thats your shader clock. Change one and so is the other.

So If I double my core clock that would be my core clock and my shader clock?

    That is interesting...

Normally, doesn't shader clock has higher mhz than core clock?

It's more efficiency and consume less power with single clock. 2 Kepler CUDA cores only consume 90% of power of 1 Fermi CUDA core.
