Yup. I just noticed there was an update and did just that. It's working now, though the profiles are not for some reason. Thanks!

I've uninstalled Nahimic and installed again with this version 1.2.2 and the profiles are working fine now.

Ah, well, okay. I will give it a shot later then once I am home from work. No harm in trying at the very least. Thanks again!

Edit: And it worked! Thanks, mate!

Anyone really sick of the windows key only being on the right side of the keyboard. Most people are right handed so they are using that hand for mouse or something else. Having the windows key on the left of windows shortcuts would be really nice. They should swap the FN and Windows key... IMO. Probably the most annoying issue with this notebook. Especially if you regularly use other keyboards.

The logic behind it being you are less likely to press it by accident in game.

Make sure to update the BIOS & EC to the latest version, then update Realtek HD audio driver, remove SBC2, then install Nahimic. All of these procedure are required in order to enable Nahimic.

Finally got my msi gt72 with the i7 5700. tested some prime95 to see temps and freq and tdp
-50mv on cpu and max fans.
will be trying going further with undervolt and raising the bins to 37 to see how it manages.

Hey guys, I understand you must update BIOS & EC with the maximum care and I'm really scared to screw up. If anything would happen, warranty wouldn't save my life right?

It's a GT72 Dominator Pro and I love to have my stuff updated but...

Guys I'm starting to feel pretty nervous. I downloaded the latest and correct version of the BIOS for my model and I got till point 11.

    http://www.msi.com/files/pdf/Flash_BIOS_by_UEFI_BIOS_Setup_Utility_en.pdf

Once I pressed yes, that window dissapeared and nothing happened. I'm ''stuck'' in the -MSI IN-BIOS update option ver 1.0 UEFI BIOS UPDATE- screen. I'm just seeing my pendrive light blinking fast.

It's been an hour since I started with the process... I guess It's not normal but sigh... I'll have to wait...

Edit: 4 hours, the laptop is getting hot...

So what keys are gamers pressing with their left hand while in a game? Just curious why it would justify changing the location of something that is standard on all other keyboards. It should be programmable.

Although good in a game, its a PITA for everything else, but I do understand that many people use these systems for games... however, this one thing will likely have me looking elsewhere for a 980M SLI.

Thought I would throw this out for those wanting better control of their systems sound without waiting for the the bugs to be worked out. Sorry if this is a repeat of another post. I have uninstalled the MSI SBC software from my system and use the following free software to tweak my sound as needed for gaming and music:

    Download

    Equalizer APO - http://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/files/

Choose correct .exe for your system

Peace GUI for APO - http://en.osdn.jp/projects/sfnet_peace-equalizer-apo-extension/releases/

GUI interface to modify Equalizer APO as well as instructions

    Example of Peace GUI

Using this setup will allow you more control options of the sound produced by your system. Different custom options can be produce as needed. Hope it helps.

btw: Oh forgot to mention if this works for you consider a donation to the software developers as appropriate.

While i have tried using the Nahimic audio software, i cannot help but feel that the old creative sound blaster cinema 2 software was much superior in both sound clarity/quality and ease of use. Is it possible anyone around here has the last working driver for the realtek chip and the cinema 2 software? Please help.

u are not alone in this. even with the latest 1.2.2, nahimic is still totally rubbish both in terms of lacking audio quality and still causing apps to crash or not function properly. it's really a bad move for MSI. all the hype but end up disappointment

    Hello,
I just have my new GT72 2QE 1449US model, I have installed the latest drivers but my benchmark seems to be weaker that what I can read in the internet, for a i7 5700 + 980m I scored only 10880 at 3DMark11 and 8132 @FireStrike 1.1
Also I have encountered a lot of applications error when I am playing (nothing very specific, just application has stopped, except for ROme 2 which actually freeze the laptop and I have to do a hard reset), I was wondering is there specific issue or tips to know on this model, I was not expecting so many crashes on a new model.

The gt72 should have come with a copy of soundblaster cinema 2, unless it was a newer version of the gt72, i am unsure of the compatibility.

No it isn't - just broken because of empty space in the link.

Thoughts on the MSI Dominator Pro GT72 2QE-682UK
Considering a PC rebuild or desktop replacement & am on the fence at the mo.

How does the MSI Dominator Pro GT72 2QE-682UK fare as a gaming machine. Looking at Battlefield 4, Company of Heroes 2, and Project Cars.

Would it be able to play them all 1080p in ultra settings above 60fps. Would the answer be the same if I connected to an external monitor?

The DVD drive I would like to swap for either a BluRay Writer or another SSD. How easy is it to do this & where could I get a BluRay Writer to fit?

Will the 980m enable me to use G-Sync?

Hello there, saw you on OCUK, as for G-sync yes the 980M in the GT72 can run external monitors running G-Sync, however that particular model does not have it on the internal screen.

I've been trying to figure out why my gsync enabled screen is only outputting 60hz refresh rate when I'm reading in multiple places about a driver that lets you select 75hz refresh rate. Where is this driver that I need to download and install? Is it on the msi support download page? and which one?

How's your feedback on the 970M with G-Sync? Would you rather get a 980M with G-Sync if you had the chance to make that purchasing decision again?

I saw the laptop for sale on an online shop and it said TN.
Must be a typo from the shop.
Also, what is the refresh rate?

I saw somewhere that it was 60 but then some new drivers brought it up to 75.
Will it overclock to 100 like the Asus G751?
