That's a mistake on their end, 313 is newer than 30A though.

This is how MSI uses version number in terms of increment, it's like hexadecimal but it's not.

    30A -> 30Z -> 310~31Z.

    Edit: Correction.

This increment theory doesn't work for 6Rx lineup

    .105 > .106 > .107 > .10A and currently .10A is latest BIOS for 6Rx lineup...

You are right. It goes from 100 -> 10Z before it goes to 110.

It's not about stabilizing, I can stabilize it with vsync or RTSS @60 fps (playing on tv) but if I try playing @ 120 fps, if it's a demanding game and it drops all of sudden or few times in row, I get the black screen flash (2-4 seconds and comes back like nothing happened). Only driver that has not done this is the one on MSI's website (376.39 which is very interesting) but because windows 10 auto updates the video driver under 376.5x, I cannot do anything except use a frame limiter. I don't know why this seems to be only affecting me. Unless I'm the person playing games other than BF1 on this thread lol.
Windows 10 will have an option to stop this auto update in april or may supposedly. I have not tried 378.78 yet but I'm going to assume every driver nvidia puts out from now on will not work for me but I will try it and see what happens. I'm wondering if there is just something wrong in my Vbios and it being reloaded or flashed with a new one will cure my problem. Something is not handling sudden spikes in load.

Anything I need to know about installing the new Vbios? How do I back up my old one? Just remember the name in case the new one doesn't work?

Use GPU-Z Tool to backup the vBIOS..

Download new vBIOS from support page...

How to Flash Instruction included in the download file

Make sure no external display connected when flashing vBIOS.

If you don't like new vBIOS you can flash with old vBIOS using nvFlash Tool.

I t would be interesting to know how the vBIOS flash works for you. I have NOT used an external monitor or TV and the only games I have some significant time in are TW3, DOOM and BF1 so that could be the reason I haven't had this issue.

    Their drivers team sucks......

They also posted IRST v15.2.0.1020 but the RAID Driver below it, they forgot to update so it's still @ v14.8.4.1046. but on other laptop models like the G83VR and others the IRST/RAID Driver are updated to the latest.

I informed them about this 10 days ago and still it hasn't been rectified.......

let's not forget their recents release of the MSI True Color v1.6.3.005 which is the same version they have since months ago. they just re-released it again with a different date, the files are all the same with the same sizes.

Download and run HWINFO64 > Sensors and check Ram Speed, if it's between 1000 to 1100 means Ram speed set at 2133Mhz in BIOS and if it's running round 1200 means Ram speed set at 2400Mhz in BIOS...

when update to latest BIOS (after MSI confirm which version is latest)...you will get the option to choose Ram Speed....Does it make a difference to select Ram Speed Option Auto or 2133 or 2400

Yes but you cannot notice it...don't expect if you get option to select Ram speed in BIOS and you set it to 2400Mhz and your laptop will suddenly start running with rocket speed....this will not gona happen....so enjoy what you have and forget these small updates which may bring very small but unnoticeable improvement but if things go south will defiantly brick the laptop....less gain...more pain....

That's the way to do it, ask MSI as MSI are the only ones that know.

It's nice you got a good answer on the 1st try, if you don't next time then keep asking and escalating to a manager then an engineer.

Thanks for taking the time to check with MSI and follow up here with their answer :)

Installed the new Vbios, tried 378.66, 378.78 and no luck. While it went a little longer, still same old black screen flash (which in overwatch kicks you right out of the game). In Overwatch the fps doesn't even drop which I thought was the reason. I have no idea what to do. The only thing that worked so far was the 376.39 from MSI's website. I have not tested it on overwatch but it worked on all the other games that black screened so I will assume it fixed it for all games. I have no idea what to do. I'm pretty pissed off (to put it very lightly) after dropping this much money on a gaming laptop that can't even game. 378.66 lasts a lot longer than 378.78 for the record in terms of how long before it blacks screens. It's hard to recommend this product after this constant PITA.

I was really hoping the Vbios would fix it. No change at all. I've tested with comfort mode, sport mode, turbo mode, OC'd, no OC but it no impact. Even went out on a limb and disabled all non used playback and recording devices which were not in use and did not install the 3D driver as per MSI's recommendations and no GE experience.

Try using this vBIOS for the 1070:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B15_BuSjR26WV0NrbldGVzhlWnc/view

This one caps the card to 1645 (default max boost).

    Download/install the latest DDU: http://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Run in Save Mode and run Clean and Restart.

    Install new drivers.

    Reboot.

I always use DDU in safe mode. I will try that Vbios tomorrow.

Basically I can be playing a game through the HDMI (happens with the laptop display too) and usually during heavy rendering that drops the FPS a good amount the screen goes black 2-4 seconds, during this time my TV will say no signal, and then after 2-4 seconds the display comes back like nothing happened. Depending on the game it does this with it might crash the game, nothing may happen and you continue the game like normal and with only SC2 I've received an error saying there isn't enough memory and needs to close dragon center. I've tried uninstalling dragon center but it changed nothing. The only way to limit the black screens or stop them is to limit the frames to 60fps. At 60 fps there is never an area that drops the fps more than 1-2 frames with any of the games this has happened on. Also when the black screen occurs while using the TV screen, audio will not play through the TV until I restart the computer, but I can move the audio to play through the laptop without restarting. If gaming with the laptop screen when the black screen occurs, audio returns without issue. It is a right old conundrum.

What makes you think capping the default max boost will help? If it does solve my problem, does that mean I have a faulty card and that I would need to RMA?

Thanks for the help by the way.

EDIT: The new Vbios I tried was 86.04.56.00.3A, again that had no impact on my problem. I will try the one you suggested tomorrow

What RAM does it use? The issues a while back (mostly desktop variant) was the wrong BIOS for different memory, not sure if its the case here (Micron vs. Samsung).

There was another issue with the 1070s where since GPU Boost 3.0 is more driven on temp and available power that it "auto OCs" to its desire so even if you have +0 on the frequency it will still OC over 1700-1800 even 1900ish. So the vBIOS was release to cap at 1645 which is the original GPU Boost (not going by temps or power). So this will keep temps down and instabilities from insufficient voltages.. overly high frequencies etc...
