    Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

    Delete everything in Folder...

    Restart laptop.

    Check / Run Windows Update

Good to Go...Windows will take care of everything...

What's the benefit of using DDU when you can have a clean installation using just Nvidia Experience?

Everything...if windows not let you delete any file, just skip it.....doesn't matter....

I always clean this folder after every major or minor update....

SoftwareDistribution folder contains all previous updates record and sometime when downloading update get interrupted or updating progress stuck...only option left to resume the process is to delete all files / folder from SoftwareDistribution folder and Run Windows Update again, it will check again all the installed update and start downloading the missing updates....

Deleting any or all files from SoftwareDistribution folder will not effect windows stability in any way...no worries....

It's called Keyboard Skin cover and same one with MSI logo on space bar will cost you $16.04 (more or less, though it costed me $16.04 when I bought 6 months ago) from ebay and any cover which fits GS70/GS60/GT72 will fit on GT73

after installing and testing the new nahimic 2+ i want to use my headphone but the headphone/digital output was not activated.
i check the settings but i can't find the reason.

i change back to the 8027 and Nahimic 2.14 and everything is working fine any suggestion from your side?

    Edit:
Looks like that my GT73VR has more respect from this Forum then from his owner.
after wrighting here i do the same steps again and now it works..

Still the same. It still says " Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4015438) - Error 0x80073701". Any other ideas how to resolve this? Anything would be really helpful. Thank you so much!

Could be the screen itself, or the GTX 1080. The only way to tell for sure is to connect an external monitor. If you get the same result, it is the GTX 1080, but if it comes up on the external monitor, then it is the screen.

Did you overclock and undervolt the CPU? I had similar problems when the undervolt was too much. Looks like the backlit of your keyboard is not working well.

Try to add more voltage to the CPU with Intel XTU. I tested my OC 4.0GHz and -0.050V with AIDA64 for 2 hours and it was stable but after 5 minutes playing Battlefiled 1 the image stopped and those vertical lines appeared on my screen. I had to reduce the undervolt to -0.025V and since then I haven't had any problems.

Another proud owner of a GT73VR 7RF. Received the laptop, however ran into a problem as soon as i turned it on. Win 10 went into a restart loop and everytime returning to the initial basic setup screen. I did feel disappointed but i reached out to HIDevolution support and they called me up to try a few steps before reaching a conclusion that a fresh reinstall is needed. But thankfully it all worked out and windows was working again in no time. Thanks to Ted and Zoltan from HIDevolution.
Initial Impression: This laptop is definitely a quality product as pictures and videos dont do justice to it. Didn't get much time to play with it yet. Will update once i get to do more.

GT73VR owners, customers of mine was showing GT73VR with French Prime Minister on a Oculus headset. The French Prime Minister seem pretty pleased with MSI GT73VR and I am pretty sure the Prime Minister was asking my customer does GT73VR comes with 120Hz screen with 5mn and if the SSD slots are NVMe with RAID-0 and how's the GPU and CPU temperature and fan noise ect,. :) :

If I read the comments on your picture, I wonder if I should RMA it?

Try clean install first or factory image first. If it does the same then yes, you should RMA it.

    Hi again,

Is there any guide to reach the invisible ram slots (other side of the motherboard)

    Another question:

A question, Is there any bottleneck if i use 48 GB ram instead of 32 or 64?

I have 16GB someone underneath the motherboard which is "impossible" to reach (clever move MSI) so this means i can get 32 or max 48 GB ram.

    The 16Gb = 2x 8GB DDR4 2400 mhz

I want to fill the 2 empty slots with either 2x 8 GB 2400mhz or 2x16 GB 2400m hz.

Now i wonder if Windows 10 is able to work with 48 GB Ram?

Should go for 32 or 48?

Check below post for disassembly video...though It's easy if you know how to disassemble the laptop.....to reach other side of motherboard, keep in mind you need to remove all heatsinks and lose the stock paste and re-pasting will be must....

No 48GB ram will not bottleneck anything and windows will work with 48GB

48GB ram, overkill, useless, waste of money.....unless you plan to do live / realtime video rendering kind of stuff....

for gaming and day to day task 32GB ram more than enough....

    .
we have some more Videos in the german MSI User for User Forum.
if allowed i would share some more for other Notebooks.

I had to send mine in recently for bad ram. I had them remove it from under the keyboard and put it in the other slots where I can get to it. If I ever want more than 16gb I'll just have to use two 16gb sticks.

MSI used 2 or 3 types of screws...

Black M2.0 used on, back cover, backpanel, top panel behind screen, GPU heatsink and HDD heatsink, all have same length

Chromed / Silver M2.5 or 3.0 on motherboard.

Disassemble this laptop is way easy than my acer 11" netbook which has double the screws in number and all are different size / length....

Let me start by saying that I pulled the trigger on a GT73VR 7RE Titan two weeks ago. I updated the bios and the drivers and everything. It has dual NVMe M.2 SSDs in RAID0 for total of 512GB. My knowledge on RAID0 is very limited so I would appreciate some help. A week ago Intel Rapid Storage Technology reported that one of the SSDs (Controller 3, Port0) that make an array has status: Failed. Details: "Your volume appears inaccessible. Try fixing any problems on the array disks. If this fails, review the Troubleshooting section under help for more information. In all cases, back up any accessible data before taking action." The other SSD (Controller 1, Port0) has status: normal. My Computer still reports 475GB on C. The system runs completely fine. In IRST there is an option next to "Status: Failed" to "Mark as Normal" (Return the failed disk to a normal state in order to access and backup data on that disk). I tried doing that but IRST reports it failed on the next reboot. Any ideas? On another note, why even put NVME SSDs in RAID0 on a gaming laptop when there is no noticable difference in gaming even if you compare NVME to SATA SSDs? [IMG]

RAID0 with NVMe drives is more for if you want to create a large single partition. Does not give the huge performance increase as before with sata. I see no other good reasons for it.

Yeah but why then put two 256GB NVME SSD and bother with RAID0 when you can put one 512GB NVME SSD. Last time I checked prices where similar. They probably have a lot of 256GB ones on stock because that's what goes in most of the new gaming laptops. They just put it in RAID. Honestly I would rather buy a laptop with huge SATA SSD and empty M2 NVME ports to add more faster storage later than this. Why mix super new technology with super old technology?

For many it is it a norma habit with RAID0 from previous use with slower disks. Or should we say one bad habit? A laptop is rarely used as a server. Same also for home computers.
Direct Media Interface is the limit. If you put several SSD's in RAID0. You get no increase in speed with PCIe NVMe disks. One of them max the limit.

I also researched on this and when found out the truth about the performance of RAID 0 in real life usage(as i dont deal with photoshop or video editing), I opted for single 512gb NVMe SSD instead of two in RAID configuration.

Both are great laptop as well.

Sorry to hear about your GT73 GPU issues however, things happens and it's very rare on MSI laptops so maybe just bad luck.

Oh I wanted to get another msi, it's just to expensive it would be 3400 with tax. I got this one for 2k off Amazon warehouse. The acer is about 500 cheaper.
