by default GT73 can support 3 external displays plus laptop display....
I'm using 2 external displays 23" IPS but only for work..I need more screen space..for multi tasking....
HDMI + Thunder Bolt + Display Port
no need of any extra piece of hardware or any type of converter...
on top of that if you want to add more external displays, get a thunder bolt docking station, add 2 or 3 more displays....built a setup like matrix....not sure it will support gaming.....

If you use an MST hub and do not exceed displayport bandwidth limitations, you can have 4 external displays when the internal display is turned off. I confirmed this with 1 4k display and 3 1080p displays used simultaneously.

I have the GT73VR (7700hq, 1070) and I'm looking for an external monitor. The possibilities atm are:
24" 1080p 144Hz without or with g-sync (to save a lot of money)
27" 1080p 144Hz without or with g-sync (to play with a big screen and save some money)
27" 1440p without or with g-sync (maybe too expensive)
My main concerns are three:
1) is 1080p too low res for 27"?
2) can the 1070 handle 1440p with the games of the next years?
3) is g-sync worth the increase in price?
Any advice on this topic, by direct experience or not, is very welcome, thanks.DukeCLR likes this. -

After spending a lot of time researching about "gaming" headsets, headphones and whatnot I finally decided that a noise cancelling closed headphones is what really suits me since I'm almost always in a noisy environment when at work. Like what you said here gaming headsets are just a gimmick and a lot of people said this too as I've been to a lot of forums, threads and posts. People keep saying that instead of buying an expensive gaming headset, it's better to buy a really great set of headphones if it's within your price tag range. So, I just bought a Sony MDR-1000x https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cancelling-Bluetooth-Headphone-MDR1000X/dp/B01KHZ4ZYY and it's really really good.Atma, Fire_Child22, DukeCLR and 1 other person like this. -

The Realtek / Nahimic drivers (Utility) need to be compatible to work, and this is where it's best to use the MSI supported versions.
Right now the pairing supported for download is Audio driver:6.0.1.8067 / Nahimic:2.3.15, and is in the Utility tab of the Support area:
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT73VR-7RE-TITAN.html#down-utility&Win10 64
That was put up on 4/10/2017 by MSI, and is as new as MSI thinks work well together.
Follow MSI's recommendation to uninstall Nahimic first, reboot, uninstall Realtek, reboot, then install Realtek, reboot, and then install Nahimic, reboot, and voila - sound.Last edited: May 1, 2017HardCoreGamer4Life, Papusan and DukeCLR like this. -
good . thank you
Do you think would the nahimic party update the latest version of nahimic that supports Realtek 8125 audio drivers ??
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using TapatalkDukeCLR likes this. -
IDK, you'll need to work that out on your own through experimentation, loading the pairings you want to see if they work.
Due to the recent Windows 10 Update, there may be a gap between working / supported drivers of many types. MSI will put up newer drivers, pairings, as they work out their compatibility and function with the new Windows 10 changes.
Please come back and let us know how it works out

1. I'm not sure about that, I have a 27" 1440p and I really like it if you can go to a store and take a look.
2. My 980Ti can handle it now but who knows what the future will bring, a 1070 should be fine for quite some time.
3. Yes, You can set up a FPS car to imitate Gsync and it works well but I have done extensive tweaking and I now use a FPS cap that is 5 FPS below my refresh rate whick keeps Gsync engaged at all times and make for a smooth experience.
If your money is tight get a decent 1080p now, you could bypass Gsync for now and just use a FPS cap at the refresh rate for smooth play.
I have a 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync monitor and I could never downgrade, it was pricey but worth every penny IMHO.HardCoreGamer4Life, Atma, Rain777 and 1 other person like this. -
Please forgive me for asking what must appear as silly questions which I am sure have already been answered somewhere in this thread but I don't have time to read 632 pages of posts.
I've been an Alienware user for the last 7 years and it's time to buy yet another notebook but I feel the quality of Alienware's range has dropped over the years, as has their customer service, so I'm now looking to buy an MSI GT73VR.
My first problem is the model codes because there are so many and I have no idea what they mean, unlike Alienware's which were very simple (you just chose the screen size and then customized the machine as you wanted it).
I have a terrible habit of buying the best that's available even though I probably don't need it. My uses are graphics intensive so the more powerful the graphics card the better it is for me however, I do not spend much time playing games. That said, I do like playing from time to time and want a machine capable of playing today's games with all graphics settings maxed-out.
If I got no assistance I would go for an SLI model but find myself asking if I actually need that?
I have crappy vision so 4K is not a priority.
One area that really pees me off with MSI is their refusal to build custom rigs as Dell do. Because I need an Italian keyboard I will likely be forced to purchase from Italy because buying an extra keyboard and swapping it over myself would void the warranty. Apparently, here in Europe, MSI refuse to operate a pan-European warranty meaning that if my machine needs repairs it has to be shipped back to Italy. That's a bummer because I'm in France!
The other key area that annoys me with MSI is the unavailability of an on site repair service which has always been Dell's strong point for me. As the machine would be used primarily for business, uptime is paramount and sending it away for repair means I will be obliged to keep a fully-synched backup machine.
So, now you know the basics of my requirements, can someone advise me which model would best serve my needs please, and if you have any suggestions concerning on-site repair services and/or another option for getting a machine with an Italian keyboard without having to buy from Italy, I'm all ears... -
Glad to hear it buddy. I hope they work out for you.
Gaming brands are just that, premium prices for names not quality.
Headphone specs and testing don't change. Great headphones have been around since early 80's and often great headphone designs are still around from that period. Be wary though, that the world of headphones and audiophiles can be a pretentious bunch and sounds are somewhat subjective. But testing methods are taking the human ear out and over time we can discover profiles that we enjoy and can use that data to easily select a new headphone upgrade in future.HardCoreGamer4Life, DukeCLR and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

To have a better understanding of the models, they have a dash followed by 3 digits to represent the sub-model/specs of the main model, see these models here: http://www.hidevolution.com/catalogsearch/result/?a=all&q=gt73vr
the -425 that I have is one of the highest specced ones with an FHD 120hz/5m GSYNC Screen. I hate 4K on a laptop personally as things look too small and we know how crappy DPI scaling is on Windows.
Even if you buy an MSI from the USA or wherever, remember, they come standard with a 1 year global warranty that covers shipping costs both ways.
See this thread to see how good HIDevolution's warranty is:

I would got for the model with the single 1080, I'm not familiar with what someone needs for graphics other then gaming but I bet it would be sufficient. I think there are vendors that could build one for you and provide service but it wont be like the on site service you get from Dell, I had a Dell XPS gen 2, back they bought Ailenware it was their flagship gaming laptop and came with 3 years on site, I got to know the guy as he cam out three times.

BUYERS BEWARE

I never believed you or Papusan or Mr. Fox as I had the worst experience with it on my previous Clevos. Blame it on the flimsy heatsinks they have that don't make good contact with the CPU.
I just put a tiny dot of LCU on this one amnd brushed it, job took 1 min only minus the cleanup of the previous IC Diamond which was a pain as it's very sticky -
The only thing that matters is that now you believe it

Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk -
Before you install a new version of Realtek HD Audio driver, even from a MSI pairing of that + Nahimic, you need to uninstall both and reboot after each install.
You can't install a new Realtek driver over an old install of Realtek+Nahimic.
First uninstall Nahimic, reboot, uninstall Realtek (both if you have 2 versions now installed), reboot, then install the new Realtek that came with the pair Nahimic, reboot, then install the new Nahimic, reboot. Done. -
It's an issue started since creator edition came out.

I install hd audio 8067 + nahimic 2.3.15 from MSI driver Website . I must uninstall and reinstall Realtek+Nahimic with same version or no?
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using TapatalkDukeCLR likes this. -
@byron_hinson suggests it's a new incompatibility introduced with the recent MS Creators Update, so if you have that update, you will likely need to wait for the next MSI updated drivers for Realtek+Nahimic before it will work again.
Regress back to before MS Creators Update, then install the current Realtek+Nahimic.
It's possible it's MS Windows installing replacement drivers for Realtek/Nahimic after you uninstalled... you might try disconnecting the Internet before going through the uninstall sequence again - to make sure MS Windows Update doesn't undo your efforts and download / install drivers. Then try installing the current MSI Realtek+Nahimic. -
Amazing results. Did you repaste your GPU? What are your GPU temps now?
