Anyone any idea please? Im getting freezes and ble screens on clean install. Thx

If you clean installed Windows, aka formatted the C drive and installed Windows, then you no longer have a recovery partition.
If someone knows otherwise, please speak up. -
I clean installed only from sdd well i would say reset as i did it few times before but option was always there... When i go disk manager it says only data 0 etc... not any recovery partition.i mean its there when i go to c:/ i see recovery but in disk mngmnt it shows as data 0... Thx @Papusan @Phoenix?Last edited: Jul 7, 2017

F3 recovery option stored in BIOS (it's not windows recognized) so when you press F3 you get recovery menu with options to reset laptop to factory settings.
During clean install, if you re-partitioned the SDD you lost or deleted the recovery partitioned (e.g my SSD shows 2 recovery partitions size of 932MB and 900MB and 1TB mechanical drive shows around 18GB recovery partition), so in disk management if you can see those partition, you can still do factory reset, if you do not have recovery partitions then you cannot restore laptop to factory settings on side note if you created recovery USB Flash Drive, you can still be able to reset the laptop to factory setting but in order to do so 1TB mechanical drive must have around 18TB recovery partition. many users who swapped 1TB drive lost recovery / reset to factory option. -

You clean installed! so that means you wiped your recovery partition. The small recovery partition is not the OEM recovery partition, it's simply one that Windows Setup Wizard creates when you format your HDD/SSD to install Windows.

Hi thx for reply. Its strange cos i dont think i did anything wrong i did it few times before i know i did a clean disk but not formatted however i made a iso backup burned by burnrec i made it first day i started a pc. Will it able to make a bootable usb to restore factory from there? Also what usb u suggest 3.0 or 2.0? Thanks
Unfortunately i dont see in disk mngmnt any recovery partitions its only says data 1 data 2 etc.. Howerver when i go to ssd c:/ i see recovery folder there with 18gb. Im gonna try restore via usb to seehopefully it workDukeCLR likes this. -
But the thing is i did it few times before and it msi factory reset was there thats why im curious. Ill try bootable usb to restore backup and if not help ill try this step thanks a lot.
Edit. I figured now i was on facfory reset ive not done clean install but reset this pc... Which is even more strange..anyway whats the best tool to create a usb flash drivefrom burn recovery? ThxLast edited: Jul 7, 2017DukeCLR likes this. -
Maybe...for someone who clean installed Windows and the msi Recovery isn't working anymore but the msi Recovery Partition on D: is still on deck.
Rename your C: Partition from System or whatever you named it during clean install to "Windows".....thats how msi pathed it.
That worked for me a few month ago....give it a try.GENOCID likes this. -
Ill try it thx for advice... edit. not working already named windows
EDIT: so it seems that recovery is there but how do i restore? i have a iso files created from day one but im not able to burn them on normal dvd as rec dvd 3 is 5,6 gb and i havent DL dvd right now. can i put those files on usb or it wont boot as there are few files? sry bout this thanks, @Phoenix what do you think?
I made a flashable usb via burnrecovery and see if that helpsAttached Files:

So after msi factory reset from usb still bsod problem is bad pool caller i suposse its something with drivers dont know what to do.. Is that because i take a recovery late via burnrecovery or it doesnt matter since rec partitions were there? I still have a isos from day one but need a dl dvd will that help u think? I always experience those bsod after reset pc but never when factory reset till now.. @Phoenix @Shehary
I led ugrade and updated win. Then i experienced bsods and freezes... Please if anyone have any suggestionsLast edited: Jul 7, 2017 -
I don't know if it will help, but it appears that a BSOD for a bad pool caller is either a bad driver or a bad overclock:

I have all bloatware as i did factory reset then i led upgrade and updated windows im gonna do stsbility test and memory test btw where can i check a bsod code so i can post it here pls? Thx
-
I ran a command i cant remember yesterday where i google it and then was getting bsod on boot with a driver violation or something like that im gonna do factory reset again and uninstall all msi utility

i have bsod as well and i like to use bluescreenview for things like this. so i found out that it is related to my killer Drivers or the Software. i have tcpip.sys and two more entries which were related to the Driver from killer.
i use the KillerCleaner64Bit and then reinstall the latest Driver from http://www.killernetworking.com/ if you can't find the KillerCleaner64Bit feel free to use my shared Folder on https://1drv.ms/f/s!AkCUubCn5bJKiY97RmtGMb9rzEBq5A. maybe it is the same.
i use the cleaner (it helps me several times) and reinstall then the Driver yesterday and no bsod since now.GENOCID likes this. -
Thanks mate i tough its somethong with killer but it was there after clean instsll well not exactly ' clean ' im diagnosing memory now and then ill do what u suggest appreciateJeanLegi likes this.

I can understand the frustration and pain, the only BSOD i ever had was because of Killer wireless and I think 2 weeks ago, I updated the drivers from Killer website and after that, everything working fine, no BSOD or no delay in windows shutdown.
you can check easily that killer wireless is causing any problem or not (if you updated to windows creator update, killer wireless and nVidia will give you some hard time if you are not using latest drivers from their website) just try disconnecting and reconnecting wireless network multiple times quickly and see if windows crash with BSOD.saturnotaku, hmscott, JeanLegi and 1 other person like this. -
no i know it from my GT72S as well but everytime after an Windows 10 update the issue appears again and that is frustrating me. i never had issues like this before with Win 7 or win 8/8.1.
after the last three updates for win 10 i must clean install my GT73VR 1. Login was not longer possible restore Points were missing, 2. Compete BS was killed no repair possible, 3. no Login possible i have just the Picture from a beautiful landscape from bing and that'sit. repair not possible and my restore Points were all missing.
on myPC gaming rig i have no issues like on my GT73VR.
i do only a clean install for win 10 creators update and that was a few days after the creator update and it is running absolutly fine since that.
But that's the reason why i love my Job and my Hobby

but download first the latest Driver from killer

im downloading via tool windows 10 gonna do a clean install a proper one and turn that s***t of whole update center ill do drivers first then that and i see how it goes this driving me mad....

As a sanity check, you can restore recovery the out of the box OS, and don't let it up, just check for stability. If you are stable, you know it's the OS, and not the hardware.
Many have moved back to Windows 8.1 or 7, as Windows 10 is a ShotStorm of unbelievable proportions, and it just keeps getting worse.
You can live stable on previous Windows version(s) until Windows 10 problems are over and it is stable. Which may be a very long time.JeanLegi, Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
From the carnage in this thread I'm glad I indefinitely postponed the redstone update
Does anyone happen to know where the 12v rail shunt resistors are on the MSI laptop 1070's? We're not getting a pascal bios editor anytime soon so I've gotta raise the power limit other ways.hmscott likes this. -
Falkentyne Notebook Prophet
There is a pascal editor out already. You just have to buy a programmer to flash the modified Bios. And I'd say having a programmer is safer than throwing liquid metal on a resistor.
The most important thing is to have the 1.8v adapter. -
Finally! Shame there's not a modded NFLASH yet though. Not sure I want to deal with cleaning and re applying conductonaught

People really need to stop treating the factory reset as if it's a clean install.

how do i do this?

Hello all,
Its been an while since i posted my problems with my CPU running hot with the above screenshot.
In the meanwhile i did a repaste on my CPU with IC Diamond, wich didnt give me the result what i hoped for and it was still running pretty hot.
So last week i decided too repaste again but now with thermal grizzly conductonaut.
This time i did repaste my CPU and also my GPU and the results....are just ridiculous good in my opinion.
I did some overclocking with my cores running at 4,2 GhZ now with a voltage offset of -0,100V wich gave me this results:
I think this is a huge difference and im happy with it,what do you guys think? -

Majority of the time you'll only see maybe 2-3C~ differences between top premium paste, the difference you'll see the most is if its applied correctly whether one end was tighter more than the other, there was a slight uneven gap or lack of contact. The rest is on viscosity and how long it'll last (example: msi put a TON of paste meant for the device to last long, vs. CLP/CLU that will give you performance but will need frequent repasting from when it dries out). You're not always going to remount 100% exactly the same so there is room for user error hence the term "reseating". Some people will swear on their life that the paste they're using brought it down 15C+ over other premium paste but in the end it might have just been one side was tighter than the other. I did the crisscross (1, 2, 3, 4) method before, two different instances, same paste and yielded drastic results = user error. So just an FYI before buying 10 different tubes of paste looking for better performance xD -
You could run CINEBENCH_R15 cpu test.
Maybe bro @Phoenix also could run the test for comparison/verifying of max temp and score. He use Liquid metal as well(Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra) + same 4.2GHz clock speed. Post your scores and temp results. And please, switch to Hwinfo64. A much better option than Hwmonitor.
This is Wrong!! "Maybe" 2-3C difference between Liquid metal and top conventional paste on laptop Cpu's? For use on Graphics will this of course be more correct. But the difference is a lot bigger than what you stated for processors(laptops). Where have you been?
Maybe ask
@iunlock
@Mobius 1 who struggling with the Alienware TRIPOD mess. Even with a modded and optimized TRIPOD you will se a big difference between LM vs. high end thermal paste. As well ask bruh
@Phoenix + a lots of overclockers here on the forum. Maybe search up results. And I can tell you this... A Hell lots of benchers/overclockers know how to mod their cooling, mount it and how to use thermal paste!!

How to set clock cpu with undervolt at idle. Through bios or other settings
? -
U can use XTU intel extreme utility and set voltage offset there or use throttlestop ehich is more advanced program u wont be able to set negative number in bios so just leave a voltage at 0
-
Falkentyne Notebook Prophet
Unlocked Bios will allow you to set a negative offset.
-
where can i download it is it on official msi website?
btwdo you have a icc profile to share? thx -

Unlocked BIOS is a third-party modification and unsupported by MSI in any way.GENOCID likes this. -
This is the ICC profile I use. ICC Profile. I love it, some think it is too dark.

thanks a lot.. it looks nice but i was looking for something like games profile on msi true color, maybe i just need to get used to it, but i really like black here althrough i wish a bit of more blue colorhmscott likes this.

Which part should I change to do a safe undervolt?
If if I change the value later it will affect the maximal capability of the cpu. Or just lower the clock when idle it?Attached Files:
