They are approaching the limits of current lithography on about 7-8 nm and physical side - effects grow around 4 -5 where keeping the electrons on track gets difficult and leak effects grow up. Something else must be developed to make more powerful devices.

Hi Guys,
Hope you can help. A week ago got a new gt73vr 7re. Now i would like to give it a clean Win10 install, the problem is the raid array did not show up during the routine. So I tried to set it in legacy mode...did not show up...tried to disable the TM or was it TP security stuff...did not show up. The only option shown is the 2nd HDD. I dont know whats the problem...hope someone can help.
BTW....coming from a gt72 where I never had those issues
IRST showing everything ok...also BIOS recognizes every ssd...whatsoever...idk.
Thanks in Advance.Atma likes this. -
If you installed from a flash drive, then just add the raid folder to the flash drive. When you get to the part where it can not find the raid, then tell it to load driver from flash drive and your raid will show up.
The same for DVD, only you have the driver on a flash drive.DukeCLR, Spartan@HIDevolution and Atma like this. -

There is a new Battery Calibration utility on MSI for the 6RE. Possibly for others too.
My laptop is back in town. I can't get my hands on it until it's delivered Monday though.
I'm amazed at the fast turn around this time. Maybe after the last RMA post survey when I selected unsatisfied and said I doubt I would purchase MSI again, helped. -
Thank You Johnksss@iBUYPOWER appreciate your Advice.
Got it...installed it...and the whole Devices showed up...so tommorow I'll give it a go.
Thanks! -

So for anyone using windows 10 and any nvidia driver older than 376.53, windows 10 will auto install 376.53, you have no choice and no you can't stop it.
I discovered this yesterday when I tried to play CS source and it kept crashing but how I really discovered this was because my desktop wasn't vibrant anymore as when new drivers are installed it doesn't let nvidia control the desktop colours as I set it to 70% vibrancy. I haven't done much testing with this driver yet but there is a heck of a lot of enraged people on redit currently trying to figure out how to stop this but no luck so far. This just started a couple days ago. So far it won't let me play CS source and apparently it has netted in a 3-4 fps drop so far for some people. I am going to install the latest hot fix drivers 378.57... I would rather know what I have installed than the forced windows crap... I really hope my black screen issues doesn't come backDukeCLR, anQua99, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -

Hey guys how are you all ?
I,ve been thinking for a while of selling my gt73vr, I've got the i7 with the gtx 1080 and 16 gb ram for about 3 months, everything is going well ever since, but I found it is hard to use this machine as a portable machine because of the weight,so I'm planning to buy light laptop, but I don't know how much will I lose on my lovely gt73vr if I sell it !!!!, so if my lose will be large, I prefer to buy a tablet or 2nd use light weight laptop, but if I'll get good money back for selling it ,I'll go for it
What will be a good price for this machine?
I need your help her guysDukeCLR likes this. -
@Fridgeboy windows update almost forced me to install "latest" drivers from 29 december on my GT62VR. I used the tool from microsoft to stop that driver from being installed, you can find it here
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...driver-update-from-reinstalling-in-windows-10
I had already disabled driver updates in advanced settings but it seems microsoft loves to mess around so it doesn't work that way anymore, DDU can't stop it either. Using the tool was the only way for me to stop their forced update and reinstall 376.33 drivers version. -

Can you update me as to what's the status of my order? I've already received a notification that you guys already picked up the money but the status of my order in hidevolution site is still "pending review". It seems you still haven't read my email to you. Sorry for being so persistent about this. It's just I'm too excited to receive the package to do the things they're discussing here. The posts of people in this thread really pumps me up and make me want to do all of those things myself. (....itchy....fing..ers....can't...hold....much....long...er...)

You may try calling them or using the live chat option on their website to get a quicker response. They probably aren't going to discuss individual order details in a public thread.

I can't find the live chat option on their website. I know they're not going to discuss order details here. He might just see me calling him up in here if he's active in here and not on his emails. It worked the last time too. -

Very soon the bottleneck will shift to CPUs. Look at things like the Razer Blade Pro - 6700hq +1080 - total CPU bottleneck. Even (sometimes) with a 6700HQ +1070.

A new BIOS update for 7RF has published, but the version is the same as current one!! somethings wrong with MSI ? or I should update that. anyone knosws
-
If you don't have any problem and current BIOS is good and doing it's job right, you don't need to update....
About your question, nothing wrong with MSI, they re-released same BIOS version with a fix which address the issue when some users tried to update the BIOS end up with brick laptop.... -
@Phoenix Could you try this? http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...4-owners-lounge.797457/page-366#post-10460080 83C degrees max temp on the ssd's is your main target

Due to the awesome m.2 SSD Heatsink on my MSI GT73VR Titan Pro, look at how low the SSD temps are:
Love the m.2 drives heatsink on this laptop, covers all the three m.2 SSDs to ensure that they don't overheat:

that was on the first laptop I got, when I removed the heatsink it took part of the thermal pad with it. the whole laptop got replaced so I have a new heatsink now with a new thermal padAtma, DukeCLR, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -

Anyone knows why the batter not charging more than 98% most of the times? ( on gt73vr 7RF)
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
to protect it from overcharging and thus reducing the battery lifespanThePerfectStorm, Atma, DukeCLR and 2 others like this. -
That's the charging circuit protecting battery life. It will charge between 93%-100%, randomly picking and varying that limit over time.
It will say "plugged in not charging", or equivalent. It's working like it's supposed to be to improve the long term life of the battery.
Other brands, I think Lenovo, let you set that limit so you can increase it to 100%; you have control of battery level for planned long battery usage. I suggested this to MSI a while ago, but they haven't added this feature yet.
There is also the hybrid battery use under heavy gaming load. That will stop charging to provide more power to the GPU / CPU, and even heavier load will draw power from the battery.
You can see the battery charge level drop as low as 30% - then the charging circuit will take over and use power to keep charge the battery.
Users have noted it takes about 6 hours to drop to 30% and for FPS to take a hit.
The boring battery stuff is now pretty darned exciting
-
Mine does charge all the way but will bleed off because of the mentioned battery management' Have you calibrated it?
-
I tried that solution and it did disable my touchpad when my mouse is connected but ALSO when there was no mouse connected.
I booted the machine up on battery and the pad was disabled I couldn't do anything until I plugged a mouse in and unchecked that box. Does the same thing happen to you?Atma likes this. -

That's a given for people in the US. But for us outside US, it's both costly and impractical due to the huge difference in timeline. There's a 16-hour difference in time between here in the Philippines and in California. There's no time to call them during that time difference. It's either I'm still asleep or getting ready for work. Now, that's a blown mind
-
Have a look at your device Manager.
when you disconnect your mouse there is another device which is recognize as usb mouse.
this device belongs to the steel series Keyboard. you can deactivate it at the device Manager this will have no effects to your GT73VR.
I run this work around with my GT72S and now with my GT73VR 6RE Titan. -
No, I only encounter one issue (either on PSU or Battery) that if my external Razer KB connected and mouse unplugged, the touchpad remain disabled unless I unplug KB too and while mouse not plugged-in if KB plugged-in again, Synaptics shows message "Another pointing device connected touchpad disabled..."
On same page, there was another post right under my post and It has same solution but different Reg Entry, you can try that, in my case, that didn't work, may be because I'm using external USB Hub and all USB devices connected via Hub
Alternate Reg Entry Solution (First you need to remove the reg entry from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh)
Step 1: Open Registry Editor. To do so, open Run command by simultaneously pressing Windows + R keys, type Regedit.exe in the field followed by enter key.
Click on the Yes button when you see the UAC prompt.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh
Step 3: On the right-side, create a new DWORD value and rename it as DisableIntPDFeature. Finally, change its value to 33 (make sure that Hexdecimal is selected under Base section).
Step 4: Close the Registry Editor and reboot your PC to see Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is connected option.!
Note: If above solution also don't work, then in some cases adding same Reg Entry in both
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

Remember when I asked you why my system agent is @ 800 MHz and not 1000 Mhz and iunlock said that's the way it is on the 7820HK and on the 6820HK laptop it's @ 1000 MHz?
I just opened HWiNFO and it's showing the system agent @ 1000 MHz.
The only thing I changed in the BIOS was raise the power limits from 200 to 230
IA Current limit is still @ 100A

In some ways, leave the thin and light to razer since its their market and those who will want it wont stray too far from razer and the like. True gaming nerds like us here want the biggest baddest mofo's on the market, meaning msi has free reign to give us more products like the gt73 and gt83.
That being said, they upped their build quality heaps. I wonder if that was in the focus studies too, coming from a gt72 the gt73's build quality is lightyears better. Only thing i detest is nahimic audio but the 14th revision is noticeably head and shoulders above all the prior offerings.hmscott likes this. -
I got my baby back baby back baby back
I can see NO LIGHT AROUND THE BEZEL! They finally fixed it. They replaced the ram and moved it from under the keyboard to the top slots like I asked. Seems to be working ok now. I put my other drive back in and am setting up raid 0 now. All is right with the world.
Does this laptop automatically recognize XMP ram and overclock it? I'm thinking of getting higher speed ram since I can get to it now. -
