Oh'well yeah, increase in cashe from 36 to 40x shouldn't put this extra load on processor![]()
And the new score?![]()

Yeah, better than the 1 single points yooo talked about

Regardng overclocking the GTX 1070. Besides the default Dragon Center OC for +100Mhz GPU and +200Mhz VRAM. What other bigger values are safe?
Another question. The GTX 1070 in GPU-Z for the MSI GT73VR-7RE doesnt have UEFI in BIOS. I think because of that it isnt possible to enable FAST BOOT. Any one knows why this happens? -
New issue.
I tried booting back to the dGPU, got the black screen again.
Did the BIOS reset via the power button, laptop actually showed the MSI logo after the reboots.
Then it blue screens, with an Inaccessible Boot Device error. -
Nevermind, it sorted itself after some trickeration.
I'm now back on GPU mode, in no hurry to ever try switching back and forth.Spartan@HIDevolution, DukeCLR, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -
Did you have a raid set up by chance? Resetting the bios may have changed it back to ACHI.Spartan@HIDevolution and DukeCLR like this.

I don't think it's the same as the 7820hk. I don't think the 6820hk can handle an undervolt of -100mv with a x42 multiplier.
Did you change your IA Current Limit to 100A from 75A, right? Where did you find the option to do this?
Thanks! -
Ugh why couldn't this have been available to me before my total tear down last night.

I don't think this cooler will make the big difference. And can you use fan filter?
Take a look at my U3 mod http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...lienware-laptops.593626/page-46#post-10208973
U3 is probably the best cooler you can buy

It's on the OC BIOS menu under the option VR Limit. You have to set it to 400 = 400/40 = 100A

ooo nice! haha I wish I had my 140mm Noctuas here then ://
I just need something to have airflow rather than just lifting the base for ventilation. -
Don't expect massive airflow from these 5v usb fans
And two of the 3 fans will blow directly into the plastic lid. The two lower fans need directly access to the bottom lid grill to make a difference
But's your money

Thanks! I thought it was something else and it would actually show "75" to be changed into 100. -

Oh yeah of course I'm not expecting a massive airflow just any airflow is fine lol.
I think the fan placements are fine where they are, bought them for that reason

Limiting dust and forcing fans to grab air elsewhere. Same ****y idiotic patent as Clevo use.

Whats the latest on the Killer network suite? I finally have some time with my laptop and want to tinker a bit. I thought someone said the suite was working now but I can't find it.

In GT73 (non SLI model) removing that black film paper will not make a tiny difference because there is nothing their to cool just an empty cabinet and big **s rubber piece but of course Clevo is another story....
@specialist7 I'm also using Havet but 4 fan edition (only running top and bottom fans both side fans cable unplugged which improved fan speed) and still it will not make any difference in CPU /GPU temp ever, I'm only using it to keep my drives temp under 50 which it is doing it's job perfectly.....otherwise these laptop cooler are nothing but useless junk..... -
@Shehary: Any chance to send me the key combo for unlock BIOS options, please?
I have notebook MSI GT73VR 6RE Titan. -
I have problem with my MSI GT73VR 6RE Titan (GTX 1070).
When play some games (e.g. Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Left 4 Dead 2), in first 5 sec. - 5 min. I have TDR problem.
After that:
- I see black screen and after ~3 sec. go back to game, but with FPS drop,
- or stays black screen.
In both situations help only restart.

I tried some versions of VBIOS:
- 86.04.2B.00.14 ..... with problem - default version, when I bought notebook
- 86.04.31.00.0D ..... with problem
- 86.04.5B.00.82 ..... without problem - but GPU clock is locked at 1443 MHz all time - boost freq. is same and Dragon Center cooperation does not work
- 86.04.5B.00.8A ..... without problem - boost freq. is 1645 Mhz, but sometimes I give black screen and Dragon Center cooperation does not work
With VBIOS version 86.04.2B.00.14 inside Nvidia Insopector I see in section "Current Clock" - "Est. Max" value 1898 Mhz.
This is maybe point of problem, because Voltage not exceed value 1.0620 V and this is maybe little.
Does anyone have an idea how the resolve this issue?
Can not be a hardware problem?DukeCLR likes this. -
what is the version of nvidia driver you are using and did you have mentioned problem with all version of drivers and also the vram is it samsung or micron...?

VRAM is Samsung.
Here is screenshots from GPU-Z and Nvidia Inspector.

Hi at start I want to sorry for my english.
I've got GT73VR 6RE 6820hq + 1070.
I'm only can get stable 4.0 when i try to 4.1 aplicatiion going to error crash.
When i got stock bios option and cpu on turbo mode in dragon center with settings: all cores at 4.0 gpu core +150 and memory +250 every thing work fine temp are good, and laptop work stable even when gaming over 3-4 hour on high end games.
When i change any setting in bios i've got lower score in 3DMark. Sometime crash at second graphic test and dot give score at cpu.
Stock:
Adjust CPU Ratio: 36
Adjust Ring Ratio: 36
CPU Core Voltage: 0
CPU Core Voltage Offset: 0
CPU Ring Voltage: 0
Clock Frequency: 10000
VR Current Limit: 0
Power Limit: 200
Power Limit: 200
I was try:
Adjust CPU Ratio: 36
Adjust Ring Ratio: 36
CPU Core Voltage: 0
CPU Core Voltage Offset: 0
CPU Ring Voltage: 0
Clock Frequency: 10000
VR Current Limit: 400
Power Limit: 230
Power Limit: 230
Adjust CPU Ratio: 36
Adjust Ring Ratio: 36
CPU Core Voltage: 0
CPU Core Voltage Offset: 0
CPU Ring Voltage: 0
Clock Frequency: 10000
VR Current Limit: 400
Power Limit: 300
Power Limit: 300
And in dragon center in comfort mode i've got same score as in not modify bios. But when turn turbo mode @4.0 I've got lover score at cpu.
When change Adjust CPU Ratio to 42 windows crash unless i change CPU Core Voltage Offset at 100 then windows normal starts but sore on cpu are lower stable work at 4.1 but score are same as on drafon center comfort with stock bios at 4.2 app sometimes crash
When i change Adjust Ring Voltage to 40 then i can get stable 4.2 but score are little low as stock bios + [email protected] and temp are higher.
@msa
I was have same problem. After i switch to igpu dgpu dead. I send to MSI i they change dgpu to new. -
Without overclocking, I only use software MSI Dragon Center. But with closed Dragon Center, problem persist.
Yes, GeForce Experience I use.
Switch to Intel GPU and back I tried and this is no helped. -
@msa was You try to unistall driver using nvidia driver unistaller? I after this install driver?
Mayby vbios is problem? -
Yes, nvidia driver unistaller I used - no help.
-
Try after removing GeForce Experience.....
Following is my personal experience with GE
I played and completed a game on GT73, no crash no problem no black screen....updated to new driver and also installed GE....re-playing same game and it crashed to desktop within few mins with message "Program Stopped working" I uninstalled the GE and never had the problem again....
If removing GE doesn't help then I think you tried everything and time to send it back to MSI, you may have a faulty GPU....if you explore this thread, you will find some users did have same problem like yours, all games crashed, black screens, hard reset only option to get back to desktop screen, driver updates doesn't help and eventually they have to send it for RMA or returned it to re-seller. -
Now I tested without GeForce Experience, but the problem persists.
-
Please, someone with same notebook ( MSI GT73VR 6RE Titan with GTX 1070) and no have same problem like me. Post to this thread screenshot of Nvidia Inspector.

I would be happy to, I just installed it and I'm not sure what you are looking for so let me know if this is what you need. Also have you done clean installs with the drivers, all my drive issues went away after I got rid of GE, used custom installation and check the clean install box.
I just installed this driver this morning and played 1.5 hours of BF1 with no issues. -
I'm not sure how to get "Est Max"
-
If that doesn't show, use this link. https://s4.postimg.org/7mkbzmfi5/Nvidia_Inspector.jpg
Yes, I have the GT73VR 6RE -
Mine overclocked with Dragon Center on Turbo.

how good is the cooling, did it get hot? or did it stay cool, even when gaming? would u recommend the model with the i7-7820HK with the GTX 1080? thinking of getting one in march/april?
Thanks

max temps while @ 4.2 GHz on all cores in gaming is 80-85C
Buy one from HIDevolution.com if you want a proper thermal paste job using the X Cross paste method:
The X Cross method is the best in my experience as once the heatsink is fitted, it provides the maximum coverage with the least air bubbles
