    I tried the Cortana, I can's see a recovery partition with 18GB.

I don't think it's an error because of the MSI Burn Recovery. It just says " Your computer's disk partitions are NOT factory default configuration.(No recovery hidden partition) The Application cannot be processed." I don't know what this means though. I just want to create a backup of my system. Thanks!

Can I ask what page in this thread I can see your post about the instruction on how to install the EC Firmware? It doesn't have to be specific, it can be an estimated range of numbers like 250-300. Thanks!

Roger that. I'll do everything and be smart like you boss. :p Sorry about the internet though, just contacted our internet provider here and as I've just said to you earlier, their server is currently down due to maintenance. It'll likely speed up about 3-4 hours from now. Let's continue our session tomorrow though or any day you like. Thank you so much for helping me tweak my laptop! :) Using the TeamViewer was so awesome!

Thank you so much man! What are the issues that it fixed? Anybody here updated their 6RF's EC Firmware to .108 and had problems?

with EC .107 / 6RF common problem in Dragon Center > System Tuner > Fan speed > Advanced > CPU has total 5 bars where it should have 6 bars and if 5 bars first 2 bars over lapped.... EC .108 fixed this CPU fan curve issue and gives you 6 bars to control CPU fan speed...

Benefit of EC .108 More Aggressive Cooling as compare to EC .107 because Fan kicked in more quickly....

Note: If you don't like EC .108 you can go back to EC .107 anytime @Atma tested it that you can flash old EC firmware safely.......Following the flash procedure is important......

@Phoenix bro the Macrium finished downloading but I don't think it was downloaded properly. When I looked at the folder properties to where I downloaded it to, it only takes 44.4 Mb when it has to be 800Mb according to the download, and it has these errors in its download log. Are you online because servers just gave the internet here some juice. Should I download the Macrium again? Can we continue where we left off earlier bro if you're not busy? Thanks! Hi all!

I have a MSI gt73vr 6RE for a month now. Very good laptop!!!

    I'm currently facing a problem
When I switch from IGpu to DGpu, laptop boot but i have no display at all (hdd activity, fan work etc..)
The only way to make it work is to push the power button 8 seconds.

    https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT73VR-7RE-Titan.html#down-bios
changelog : "Fix load default then switch iGPU to dGPU, panel black screen."

This bios seem to correct the problem but it's for 7RF.

    I extracted the .313 (7RE) and .10A (6RF) (see picture)

They both have a microcode for skylake 06E3 (6820HK) but the 313 have also microcode for Kabylake 06E8/9 (7820hk etc) (not in .10A)

So, I think that .10A is not compatible with 7RX but don't you think .313 i compatible with 7RX and 6RX?

    Same name, same structure, etc

    Best regards

If I think my fan's are not doing job, I'll try this out. But until then, as long as the system is running steady and the fans are still able to do their job and properly cool the system I'll just stick with what I have and maybe wait for a game changer update. Thanks for this man! I already bookmarked your post regarding this.

Unless someone actually tests it.. there is a risk there because while the 7RF motherboard does support Skylake, it still is a different chipset and has different features like having different LAN and such

    @Phoenix

a lot of Posts before you wrote that you could enable the native NVMe Support.
I found this Option i think, but i get the message that no nvme Controller was found.
is it possible that this has to do something with the toshiba nvme's which has only the Windows Driver Support?

    thanks in advance

Thanks for the answer. Yes, I knew than the Kabylake is ~ a rename Skylake so didn't think Intel change the chipset.

Seems like there is a few difference in the bios.

Too bad, this bug is really weird

For me my Toshiba NVME was acting kind of clunky when I first got it but I didn't really change anything on BIOS unless you are going to raid. All I did was update my Chipset and RST drivers.

Great info but this has been tried...flashing 7Rx model BIOS to 6Rx but the no success, there is a BIOS protection in place and it will not let you flash 7Rx BIOS on 6Rx....

Best option is to let MSI knows via support that you are facing the problem which addressed in 7Rx BIOS update so they may look into it and may release proper BIOS update for 6Rx models

    Hi guys,
I bought a GT73VR 7RF a few days ago,and decided to run some benchmarks. I ran 3DMark TimeSpy and got a score of 2014. My graphics score was 1838. I am dumbstruck. Battlefield 1 at 1080p ultra settings gives me 30-40fps. Rise of the tomb raider max settings 40-45fps. What the heck is going on. It has a gtx1080, ffs. Anyone knows what is going on?

Temps are pretty good. I bought my laptop from xotic pc so I customized it and applied diamond thermal paste. While idle gpu temps are around 38-42 degrees. While gaming temeratures are between 68-77 degrees. cooling is pretty great.
I ran Fire Strike and got a score of 4798. Compared it online and saw that a laptop with a 970 got a score of 9271. I have no idea why

I am pretty much facing the same issue. I have the 7RF 1080p variant. In the Heaven Unigine benchmark i got around 29fps in extreme mode. I don't know if it's a hardware problem or what

    hi guys
I noticed that my Gpu core clock is stuck at 139 Mhz and memory clock is stuck at 405mhz. After i restart for a few minutes it stays at the base clock-1556mhz and then scales down to 139mhz. i tried overclocking with EVGA PrecisionX and for a few moments it jumps to 670mhz but returns to 139mhz. Anyone knows what is causing this issue?

Are you using latest nvidia driver...?

why you are using EVGA PrecisionX when you can overclock CPU / GPU with Dragon Center...?

Kabylake does bring new motherboard chipsets, not all laptops got them, but the GT73VR was one that did, the CM238 vs the previous CM236:

    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GT73VR-TI...E®-GTX-1070.html#hero-specification

    Chipset Intel®CM238

    The Skylake model GT73VR:
    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GT73VR-TITAN-6th-Gen-GTX-1070.html#hero-specification

    Chipset Intel® CM236

I wouldn't mix BIOS's across models with different motherboards / chipsets.

    Hi guys,
I installed GPU-Z and saw that my GTX1080 was running in PCIEx16 v2.0 even though it supports v3.0. I guess this is cause of the terrible benchmark scores and fps I've been getting. How do I switch my gpu to run on PCIEx16 v3.0

What firmware? There is only the 108 firmware and a new VBIOS in addition to a recent BIOS 313 released late Feb. There is no new EC firmware

hello again Phoenix, i have found a website that has the MSI GT73VR 7RF Titan Pro Gaming Laptop?
i'm looking forward to having this beast and replace my Acer Predator G9-793, which was great but the HDD frame is rubbish, and the m.2 ssd is the 22110 form factor, not the common 2280
someone on the forum mentioned to get it from the reputed seller, as MSI's customer service is garbage, is that true?
    Thanks :)

are there any issues with the new bios and vbios? I remember someone mentioning that crysis 3 crashed with the new vbiios. I'm hoping it will solve my problem.

Is there any program I can use to know why my laptop is crashing? I'd like to know if my OC is too high or it's something else.

i believe if its the overclock that is causing crashes, upon restarting the computer would automatically go back to stock clocks to protect itself. If you notice this dont force the overclock again
