You are in RAID mode for your other drives. That stops Magician from working properly. It is rather finicky software.

Is this the exact same reason why the Samsung nvme driver not getting installed it says nvme not plugged in.

Yes. When you are in RAID mode, the Intel drivers handle the SSDs.

I had the same problem. Not all the connectors (controllers) are the same. They used to be easy to tell a PCIe and SATA apart based on the pin-slot configuration. Now it is harder. Two of the slots are for Intel SSD only, btw. That leaves 3 M.2 slots and the 2.5" SATA. Of the 3 m.2 slots I think only 2 of them are PCIe and the other is SATA. So like you I used the two PCIe slots to get the high performance, and tried the third M.2 slot with the EVO 970 1 TB. I could not get it to be recognized. My final solution was to stick with the two PCIe and use a 2TB 2.5 drive.

To be honest, those are better numbers than I am getting from my pair of 970 Pro in Raid 0. I wouldn't be surprised if it is something to do with the driver or RAID controller.

It will still use the RAID driver because you have an array already configured. That mode is all-or-nothing.

What I might try when I get home is to remove the Optane + HDD and see if that helps. We might just be overloading the bus.

Newer drivers doesn't always mean better (performance). But if you have problems with what you already have you haven't much other choices than try them.

New drivers failed because of my Optane drive. I am ripping that out and just putting a 2TB SSD in place of it and its accompanying HDD.

I did some further research and my 970 Pros are actually performing close to what reviewers were getting on a single drive. I am just not seeing a boost to RAID performance. Probably some limitations on the 4x PCIE link.

Since I probably don't need 1TB capacity for my system drive if I have 2TB on a SATA SSD for my offline games and data files, I will just go to back to a single NVMe and switch back to the Samsung drivers. Fewer points of failure, less power consumption, and an overall simpler setup.

The GPU is removable. The trick would be finding a replacement in the same form factor that works on the board.

Any idea where to get this or atleast which site to watch for? , i know eurocom supplied gt73 upgrades and in their websites its just GTX series as of the moment tried to ask one of the rep but did not understand me instead send me to the same link im asking about.

Im not in a hurry or really is a must to have just wondering if i will have to sell my GT75 now aslong as it still has a decent price on it brought mine like couole of months ago the last og GTX series for this model with core i9 on it. That said i don't know if its an option or possible to upgrade the GPU or just sell the laptop now and buy another with 2080 on it?

My applogies for throwing questions after questions as mxm is relatively new to me. Anyway i got a response in eurocoms' rep that RTX will not come in MXM format if so are the new GT75 that came in this quarter with RTX 2080 is not MXM?

If I dont use dragon center, what software should I use to adjust the cpu/gpu power plan and fan speed?
I planned to use .bat file to input XTU command to change the CPU power plan, does this work for GT73?

How about the GPU plan and fan speed setting?

No. I found that XTU tended to make my system unstable. I don't overclock laptops so I can preserve battery and keep the heat in check.

The GT75 with RTX 2080 is a MXM format , just an over sized body, but same MXM dimension contact plate.

If it is longer than the 80mm standard, it won't fit. The width won't be a problem if you use the middle slot and don't have drives on either side of it. As far as BIOS support, I do not know. Given the expense of such a drive, I don't think that I would risk it.

    Hi team!

Something's bugging me , i'm seeing voltage and or power limit on GPU (GTX1080) I don't know how long its been going on as honestly doesn't feel any performance loss, and I just happen to play around with MSI Afterburner's monitoring optio I tick power and voltage limit to appear on screen out of curiosity. But then I'm surprise as it popped out that there is power and or voltage limit going.

Thermals are stable at 70C-ish GPU usage at 99% and happen on both overclocked or standard. I still have dragon center installed and just using afterburner for monitoring.

Im just surprised because 2 power bricks and im getting power and voltage limit. Anybody could help me clear this is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

GPUs have their own limits on how much power they are allowed to draw and that is likely the limit you are hitting. Afterburner does have options to let you draw more power but if you are already pushing the limits that the software will allow, that is all you can do. Having two bricks will help with total draw from the laptop but won't provide extra power for a single component beyond its limits.

Thank you for explaining that. Im just curious because I'm coming from a Razer Blade pro laptop and by far had worst experience with not just thermal throttling and also power throttling maintaining that 250watts brick they supplied. Anyway not to stray off the topic im relieve to know its not the same situation.

No it is a Kingston HyperX SH103S3240G I had laying around. It has been fine since I put it in. Just the last few days it just disappears when trying to update a game on it. Have to reboot to get it back, then same thing again.

I am going to buy a new drive, just trying to decide on a 3rd M.2 or just a 2.5.
