To open the front cover we have to remove screw inder the waranty sticker?

Seems like an odd situation to me overall, they don't make the laptop to work well on their own, they depend on 1 guy to make it all work after the fact.
You also need to make sure your seller has a Prema "membership", so you can get the BIOS/vbios "first" - included with the laptop when available.
Otherwise you need to wait an estimated 6 months before the vBIOS/BIOS are made available to everyone (for an added donation cost?) - which isn't in writing so it might be longer if at all.
I also noticed one of the vendors, Mythlogic, differentiated the 6700k and 6700k "unlocked" performance model, for $33 more, I assume that is the Prema BIOS(/vbios?) cost added, but that isn't clear, so be careful if you order to ask specifically if your order includes first access to Prema Bios/vbios and your payment covers that cost.
This could also be an odd combination of leaving off "unlocked" due to the space taken by the Black Friday message, but why leave both options up if one negates the other temporarily? I guess we will see after Black Friday
https://www.mythlogic.com/configure.php?id=182
Once the BIOS/vbios is available/installed, and unlocked power / settings are enabled, the top end will show itself and temps / fans / power required will change dramatically for the better performance wise, but also it might change noise characteristics.

Thanks, there aren't too many reports in yet on Grizzly.
In your wifes laptop what was the temp delta between the three - specifically Grizzly?
And, which Grizzly did you use? Kryonaut, Hydronaut, Aeronaut ?

Yup will do at multiple levels to see what's possible.

IMO the GT80 is the complete package in terms of actual desktop replacement, I'd like to see the 6820HK do well.
The Clevo 870 isn't worth it without Prema support by the looks of things.hmscott likes this. -
well one of the guys gets 6820hk will need to do a test, over 40x multiplier is not stable could be many reason. if its temperature or not enough power those can still some what be fixed, if its bad silicon then just out of luck.

Kryonaut and the application looked good once I removed the heatsink. It's my laptop, the IC diamond and CLU were 2-3 degrees apart, while kryonaut just failed to cope really at around 10C higher.
In my wife's desktop it performs fine with her liquid cooling AIO and her CPU (4690k) is clocked at 4.4ghz at reasonable temperatures and low fan speeds. I've not replaced it as it's fine, I think it's just sensitive to the pressure levels. -
What is those high and low pressure? And Our gt80 is low or high pressure? If we can say that?
Last edited: Nov 30, 2015 -
GT80 GPU is high pressure, the CPU hs pressure is pretty much average.

Heads up everyone Mason2smart doesn't have his gt80s yet, he is waiting on a part so things are delayed until it comes in unless someone else is up for it.

Posted an abridged transcript of my frustrating issues with my RBP and their support last summer

Their forum is pretty much dead...lol nobody ever posts there -
What do you guys think about these temps:
GPU1: 73C
GPU2: 87C
These are the max I'm seeing playing Metro 2033 Redux (max settings).
The only thing I've overclocked is the monitor to 90Hz. Ambient temp is 70F.mason2smart likes this. -

GPU1 is good, GPU2 is maybe a bit high, but not the end of the world. Might be worth doing a repaste on thermal compound possibly, and seeing if that might help.

Does this laptop have an HDMI IN port? I'm looking for a gaming laptop that does, and it seems that the Alienware 18 is the only one.
-
If you change your gpu paste, please let me know if it works
-
It doesn't support HDMI in like the alienware did, just HDMI out.

Thanks guys..bummer tho! That is a key feature for me...looks like I stay with Alienware. -

That feature is rarely requested, but that's interesting that the Alienware machine provides it.
Enjoy it!

I would love to give another brand a chance...but the HDMI In capability gives you the option to have a mobile TV wherever you go. Comes in handy when I bring the xbone to in-laws house
-

May I make a suggestion?
If HDMI input feature is frequently needed by you, perhaps you can look into this type of device, see below.
http://www.amazon.com/AverMedia-Ext...4425&sr=8-4&keywords=HDMI+capture+via+usb+3.0
I assumed that you may switch the system from time to time throughout the years so acquiring such device isn't a bad idea and you can use it on pretty much any computer.
Additionally, you may be able to save the cost of buying this device by switching to either ASUS/MSI.
What do you think?

Very cool..I'll definitely look into this. Thanks! -
Anyone know if the GT80s 072 is in the us yet or is it still on the boat from Taiwan?
-
It is listed at XOTIC PC now as available mid December.
-
Thanks. I've actually got it pre ordered and was told the first shipment would be in the first week of December. (I'm just anxious/excited)
Another question: Does MSI make a docking station for the GT80? -
Available mid December but will ship on late Jan 2016 lol
-
I probably will not order mine until Feb 2016.
-
No dock station, unless some universal usb3.0 based
-
anyone got a favorite docking station for the gt80? =D
-
Plugable has some highly rated docking stations, so you might want to check them out, but with all of the outputs available on this laptop I will probably stick with adapters for things such as RS-232 connections.
-
Its a docking station in its own

Henge Docks make TB2 docks, and have said they have a TB3/USB-C dock in the works. Hopefully it will support PC's, but so far, they only have Mac docks.

Xotic PC is only waiting on the haptics motor now... Should get my laptop at the start of winter break (end of finals) in .1.5 weeks...
-
Screw the haptics, have'em pack it up and send it to you today
GTVEVO likes this. -
The haptics motor is a single plug, if you can plug the laptop into a wall socket you can plug in the haptics feedback motor and put it into its slot.mason2smart and hmscott like this.
-
Why does this Haptic Motor sound good in theory, but it will probably suck? It's a really cool idea for a laptop, but wow how could you feel the feedback through all the parts?
-
mason2smart Notebook Virtuoso
just the touchpad...
Wont have time to mess with it anyways if i got it now, as I have a slew of tests the week before finals as my teachers have a habit of teaching right up to finals... (i go to like the #6 public school in entire us
) and it would just be sitting at home during finals anyways.... So why waste the warranty. Either way, I told them not to ship it out until at least Tuesday of finals week...

yes but its also easier and faster and cheaper to do it through them (seriously.. i don't have to pay shipping on the motor and its from like Sweden or something) -
no offense but you are paying for it in one way or the other. In all honesty we have to give someone a hard time sometimes. Your it
