:err:I once spilled a Miller 64 on my VAIO Keyboard...It was quite an adventure to disassemble and clean the beast, so I see where you are coming from. Working on my third set of hard drives WD Black 7200rpm in raid 0...Looking forward to SSD. The only place I currently have SSD is in My Built from scratch HTPC.

Received my MSI GT80S Titan-072 SLI GTX980 Desktop GPU from GentTech PC Just in time for Christmas. Ken was great to deal with it. Finally had some time to run a couple benchmarks in case anyone was interested. Only thing I have changed was dropped the cpu voltage -75mv to help with some of the heat and overclocked the monitor to 96Hz. I did add a couple extras when ordering like dual samsung 512gb SSD 950 pro in Raid 0 and 32gigs of Kingston HyperX 2400mhz.

Links to Firestrike and IceStorm 3d mark scores with extra screen shots showing hardware.

Hey all, I have another problem with my GT80 Titan SLI-263. My computer will randomly disconnect from the internet at random intervals. Sometimes it is every 5 minutes while other times it is every 3 hours. I am almost positive it is not my router's fault and I have found some other people with the same issue. I am running Windows 10. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

When this happens, what do you have to do to reconnect? Are you connected wireless, or wired? Who provides your internet service? Is it Sat, DSL, or cable?

I am connected via wireless with cable and Time Warner Cable as my provider. The problem seems to have fixed itself. I will come back if the issue reappears or something of the sort.

The very first thing to try would be to disable the killer network software and retest. Similar issues reported with the gui so it's an easy test, I don't even run the software at all.

Had this issue on my blade pro a while back so I reverted the drivers to older ones and haven't had an issue since...

GUI vs Base drivers... Haven't seen a difference in performance - Have in house network issues w/ att and my card (Killer 1202) has known lag spike issues

No im with stock paste, i have hight temps compared with the other gt80, i have 5700 cpu chosen to get low temps but its not the case for exemple on firestrik i have max 87c on gpu2, while others have 73c, on the witcher 3 89c :( so disappointing with those temps.
Then i want to try repaste.
As i travel a lot, i read that CLU can run out if the laptop is on vertical position for a long period.

LOL that last sentence is funny, CLU doesn't move around it attaches and stays from my experience. But it isn't needed on the GPUs, all you need to do is repaste them using some easy and conventional first. This way you are safe if you do something wrong, its all basics though. Rules below.

Document your tests before then retest will be the final step
Take pictures to use as a reference during your disassembly
Use the correct tools and sizes, be gentle with the screws you aren't working on a car.
Use a clean space and clean hands
    Go Slow
Clean the old paste off easily, don't scrape it. Use alcohol or a known cleaner with, do not use your hands or fingers.
Inspect all you thermal pads and ensure they go back on the correct places. Do not touch them with your fingers and they are brittle so handle with care.
Do not force or bend anything, think about how you will slide the heat exchange out of the body on each side.
Use the pea method for your paste for re-assembly.
Turn on once you have checked twice turn on and monitor temps, if all checks out proceed to benchmark testing.

There are several videos and processes documented even on here so test away, thats part of the fun.

Ya if CLU was to run or be pulled by gravity it would be due to complete over use/applyed in the area otherwise no desktop or laptop user would ever touch it since they are stored or sit vertically constantly.

    Woohooo back for a bit.
Hopefully in the am I'll be posting the results from the great TIM off. I am waiting on the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste to arrive so I can test it too.
As far as the copper sinks being placed.. I will say this...The only way we got it to be beneficial was to add 2 120mm fans to the bottom of a CoolerMaster Notepal X3... And that was adding them to the Titan, and an Apache. Lol in many many different configurations and placements

Hey, I have yet another problem. On the newest drivers, they keep on freezing and recovering every 30 seconds or so. It has been happening on pretty much every driver other than 353.62. Does anyone have a fix to this? It is getting extremely annoying. I am running a GT80 Titan SLI-263 on Windows 10 in case you need to know.

    Hii,
Please keep me informed, because now i prepare for my travel, then to test the grizzly paste that will be next month.
Please take your temps before repaste to get a good idea how the grizzly performers.
For the cooler master x3 i didn't understand what you did with the fans... It has one 200mm fan, you added another ?

Did you do a update Via the Geforce Experience ? If so then go to Nvidias site. Down load the correct driver from there. Within the setup I want to say under custom installation (I can't remember the for sure name) but there is a clean installation setting . Try doing that. That helped my issue of the same on the 2nd to the latest driver release.

I think to get the cooler master sf-17 for my gt80,
My hope is that my stock paste is the problem of my hight temps, as i said before, i chosen the 5700 to get less heat but i got more lol.
I m waiting your grizzly test with impatience. :) good luck
Ps: please can you tell me more about the copper sinks?

Well I've got good news. I found a temporary solution. The solution is to restart the computer at the login screen after you first turn it on instead of putting in your password and using the computer. After you do the restart at the login screen, you can go back to the login screen and proceed as normal. It is a bit annoying, but not a big deal at all since the computer starts up so fast.

Oh, one more thing by the way. Apparently there is a bunch of tutorials and such on how to do a clean install of nvidia drivers that all seem pretty complicated. For the clean installation via the driver installer, do I just check the little clean installation box and proceed with the installation? Thanks.

It's up to you, but for latest driver updates running DDU first gets the best results.

I first installed 361.43 via Geforce experience, Custom => Clean, but upon reboot was stuck in a long boot sequence - took about 10 minutes - when it finally completed and I was at the desktop everything ran fine, and for hours afterwards through a few reboots.

To make sure it was ok, I ran DDU - reboots to Safe Mode and you remove all the Nvidia stuff and reboot again into Windows.

Before I did that I downloaded the 361.43 installer from Nvidia, and after DDU ran I did a standard install - I don't install the 3D driver or Miracast - and everything has been working fine since.

There is a 361.43 thread with many reports of problems, better to use DDU first with this one.

You guys can also use the DDU tool for a clean wipe of all drivers and registry mess from nvidia before reloading the new.

The freezing is likely the same issue that we resolved earlier in this thread. The temporary solution that you describe is the same that Ryzeki was promoting. It was caused by the incompatibility of sleep and hibernate with the latest NVIDIA drivers. Most of us just disabled sleep. hmscott posted a quick way to disable it from the command prompt in an earlier thread. No one has brought it up again since, until now.

Give it a try. It worked for me and several others. A link to one of hmscott's instruction posts is here:

Hi all, i don't know if this will help,
It been 4weeks my pc is on , (downloading playing fallout 4 total war atila, gta5, etc etc etc) and in those 4 weeks i didn't seen any driver recovery or pb.
    What i did:
1- to keep my pc on i disabled sleep or hibernation on power management( hight perf).
2- config the lid if is closed nothing happens( just screen extinction).
Keep in minds that i got a lot of driver recovery and cie before those manipulations.
    I hope this will helps
    Regards.

I wouldn't be too worried, most of those mentioned problems are due to the latest crap Nvidia drivers or windows 10 or simply a combo of both. I still doesn't take a way from the actual machine which is still the same workhorse it has been since gen 1. Unfortunately it still has the same issues too that they could have improved upon but they where busy with skylake and full size gpu implementation so you can't complain about anything really. Its great just enjoy it, BTW did you get a tracking number yet?

Obviously have no understanding of the cooling system on the titan ...I got the copper upgrade heatsinks on mine and I get about 10 degrees cooler with a pad because I'm moving air across the copper fins ...If yiu overclock or have copper upgrade I'd def recommend a pad ...If i didn't worry about condensation I'd have turned my portable ac I to a cooling table ... no such thing as too much airflow
