    In MSI Afterburner

    +300 for VRAM

+135 for Core - which is slider to the maximum - limited by vbios/BIOS.

Some people are more comfortable interacting for the same questions, even with an FAQ / previous detailed discussion in the forum, they don't feel comfortable doing it on their own without confirming steps or progression of settings.

Please turn off your mobile tapatalk trailing noise. :)

Then those settings aren't working for you, or it could be the CPU OC.

When you OC, you do each step in isolation. Turn the CPU OC off for now, and focus on the GPU Core, then add VRAM, then turn CPU OS back on, with a delay of hours in between.

Live on an OC setting, especially a "final" one, for a long time with other OC off. Otherwise it will be confusing as to where the root cause of the crash came from.

    Which Browser are you using?

Your topic was repeating noise in the forum, and Taptalk noise takes several lines, if everyone left it on it will reduce the number of posts per page. My request was on your topic and relevant to your interest.

Most people remember to turn it off, but sometimes forget when they get a new Phone, or reload their OS, it's ok to remind them :)

The forums are here to help people interactively, sometimes post #1 has an FAQ detailed with all the stuff you are talking about, sometimes not. But, there is often a large number of posts in a row helping someone out with a problem, it's just part of the charm of NBR forums.

You are free to write up an FAQ on your own, or a list of what you think should be on it if you don't have the expertise to write the steps, and submit it to the Post #1 OP, ask for it to be added.

If the info was in the sig, that's ok, you can condense it in there somewhere, but the Tapatalk entry is in the body of the post, which can't be disabled.

Many including myself turn off sig's, so we can get more posts per page. If I want to see someones sig, I can look at their profile.

When I try to help someone with a problem I look at their sig to see what they are running, often people forget to include details like which OS, laptop model, etc they have when posting a problem.

If you want to show off your new phone, put that info in the sig, it will get seen, but not take up 3 lines of every post.

Ah, so it's not related to OC'ing, you must specify your problem mode clearly :)

Then use Firefox, that's what I am using. But, there are times when the NBR software isn't responsive on FF, so I copy/paste the link into Chrome/IE and work from there for hours, so no crashing for me.

That's your CPU performance, and 50% faster is a big leap from the 4700HQ to the 6820HK :)

The actual difference should be much lower, so your Razer Blade was performing too much heat generation and not enough compute performance, it was throttling!

Because 4720HQ is still a beast of a processor that runs at 3.6ghz quad core, and your CPU was running at 4.0ghz :) My scores are 10k on physics.

Yep. Most likely the CPU was running between 3 to 3.2ghz, either aggresive TDP or thermals. Most likely thermals. When aggressive TDP is on use, like on Lenovos and the like, their physics is around 7k.

Mine is 10k which is about the highest we can go for a 4720HQ. Normally, for games, the GPU's will be the deciding factor, when we are using such powerful CPUs. Unlocked CPU's definitely have a higher ceiling, and higher max frames, but we are still quite relevant :D

When you consider than even old desktop Core i5 2500k on stock score around 5k and they still game just fine, we have still ways to go before our CPU's become the main problem haha :)

is dsr worth enabling or is it better to set the display to have 100hz refresh rates?

Still can't get dsr working right...

So disappointing that SLI support it still so hit and miss, even in the latest drivers (361.75)

Just Cause 3, Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, X-Com 2 - all have crap balancing across both cards, not using them to the max, with frame rate issues as a result.

Only recent game that seems balanced perfectly is Witcher 3!

My GT80 is easily the best laptop I've ever owned (and I've had two MSI gaming laptops before this - 780m and earlier). Just such a shame that the full power of the GT80 is not getting realized in so many games...

If you aren't already, try digging around for nvinspector profile tweaks to add some SLI support to newer games. You pick a similar game and use it's profile ID numbers and put them in the new game profile.

It's a time tested method, sorry I don't have those new games - JC3 works for me on SLI @ 100fps/100hz, so I can't give you the info myself.

Here is the link to download Nvidia Inspector, and an article on nvbits for Xcom-2, good luck :)

    Hello guys!
Been lurking arround GentechPC's GT80S-002 configurations (because I'm about to order apparently!) and there's a new thermal compound option:
[X] IC Diamond 24 Carat Thermal Compound on both CPU/GPU
    [X] Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra on CPU/GPU [+$15.00]
What is this and is it worth it?

    My config so far:
[X] 1 Year No Dead Pixel Warranty
    [X] 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz Kingston HyperXImpact CL14 Dual-Channel 8G X 4
    [X] RAID 0 - 2*512GB Samsung 950 Pro NVMe Gen-3 4X Lanes, Max Sequential Read Up to 2,500 MB/s
    [X] 1TB stock SATA HDD
    [X] 1TB Samsung 850 Pro Series Solid State Drive 2.5" 7mm SATA III 6Gb/s
    [X] Killer Wireless-AC N1525 2.4Ghz/5.0Ghz Dual-Band 300/867 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.0
[X] Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Full Version DVD
[X] 3 Year Parts / Life-time GenTech PC Labor Warranty, Lifetime Toll-Free Technical Support
    THE BEAST IS COMMING.
Should I go with win10 pro or stick with good ol' win7?

Win 10 is the Future (and it has some cool apps). If it comes pre-configured then you don't have to deal with the upgrade later on. Food for thought.

The future is what becomes of what we make it. Windows 10 isn't acceptable privacy wise nor functionality wise - lots of stuff is still broken and breaking. Many have fought to put up with the problems and they keep rolling back.

Use the downgrade rights available to use Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. It's easy and more stable, more functional.

Downgrade rights for Windows 10 – licensing how-to
    https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/124055-downgrade-rights-for-windows-10-licensing-how-to

    Windows Downgrade Rights.JPG

Ignoring the useless bait of DX12, and the continual changing face of Metro Center and Desktop in Windows 10, it offers nothing Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 can provide, stable reliable functionality.

The future isn't now with Windows 10, it's much much later :)

I don't mean your 6820HK, I mean your older 4720hq with the razer was not running at full speed, which is why you had lower physics scores.

The hardware ID & vendor ID are critical for the driver to recognize and install properly.
Also, feature sets can vary as well.

Hey all, I have a bit of an odd problem. When using Teamspeak, it will freeze at random intervals. I can still hear and talk to other people, but the UI becomes completely frozen. Getting poked on Teamspeak usually freezes it, but it will still get frozen by anything. I am also running Windows 10. Has anyone else had this problem before? I have searched the internet numerous times and have not found a single person with my problem. I thought maybe the problem has something to do with my laptop, so I decided to post it here. I have posted a similar message on other forums, but haven't gotten a response. Can anyone help me with this?

Check your EC firmware version and verify if it's 1812EMS1.107 or 1812EMS1.108.

While some people love certain MSI applications, I'm a minimalist so I pretty much have Steam, Games, 7zip, Drivers and yes, I use Nahmic. Nahimic:1.2.12/Audio:6.0.1.7712 works great for me in Windows 10 64 bit.

No, I don't watch BluRay, but I would personally use VLC as a media player. I primary use my Titan for browsing the internert and of course.... Games!

powerdvd12 is from 2012, so every few years I get the latest version, now up to 16 (2016).

In between PowerDVD Ultimate versions I also keep MPC-HC x64 for DVD playback and Leawo Blu-ray Player for BD playback.

If you want to get all the other goodies, this works well for me over the years, it also contains MPC-HC:

    K-Lite Codec Pack Mega
