Inside the Fallout4Prefs.ini file normally located under "C:\Users\YourAccountName\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\" I manually set the resolution by editing the params (iSize W, iSize H) because the highest available is 1920x1080 along with changing the iPresentInterval=0 which cleaned up all the frame rate problems.
To get SLI running you simply use Nvidia Inspector and copy the SLI bits from the Fallout 3 into Fallout 4. Next inside the "Nvidia Control Panel" on the "Manage 3D Settings" and the "Program Settings" Tab add or select the game Fallout 4 and set "SLI Rendering Mode" to Force alternate frame rendering 2.
Fire up your game and get through the first dreadful 10 min and then start having fun. Enjoy![]()

I know this may be slightly off topic but has anyone had a chance to test Black Desert on the GT80(s)? I'm sure it will push a high FPS on max settings at 1080 and 4k but I just wanted a confirm some numbers. My job has most of the bench-marking sites and gamer sites blocked so I cant really have fun here at work with my research. Who knew fortune 500 companies acutely expect you to work while you are here

From the earliest video on the new GT80S it looked like 2 M.2 slots were blank, so it's good to hear there are actually 3 slots
Will the first 2 PCIE slots also support SATA M.2 SSD's?mason2smart likes this. -

and if it was, there is probably way to use two cables as it is a smart tv and push it at 60 fps or higher...

And patiently wait for next year, hoping someone makes a proper cableTrust me, you are out of luck haha
Using dual cables is something the monitor itself has to support, so if it does, you might have luck. But TVs generally don't, it's something monitors do.
You can always use direct HDMI cable, and the GPU will try chromasubsampling rendering at lower image quality to support 60fps over lower bandwidth. If it works, you can certainly enjoy higher fps. Since it is a TV, you are probably out of luck.
Nontheless, some games run decently enough at 30fps and you can still play them
If only MSI would have used HDMI 2.0 over the port instead of 1.4 -

In fact it can take 120 hz input
The Sony X850C 4k TV has good overall picture quality, except when viewed at an ...3D is good, but there is a very slight amount of crosstalk. ... This TV is also able to accept and display a 120 hz input, which not too many TVs can do. There are TVs with less blur and lower input lag, but PC gamers in particular should ...

My TV is also 4K 3D and has basically the same specs, although mine is LG. We are out of luck for 4K at 60fps except with chromasubsampling which in my case, has a 50% chance of working properly (some games cause issues). -

Strangely, MSI got the embossed labeling on those M.2 ports wrong. It says mSATA SSD in 2 places...I thought it might be left over from the previous series, but my GT80 SLI-263 only says SSD next to the Icons.
It looks like the left bay has the 2 PCIE x4 SSD's, and the right M.2 Bay is likely SATA only.
Any word on if 2 M.2 slots are dual SATA/PCIE x4? What about the 2.5" bay? hwinfo64 would show what interface it has, and what SATA II/III speed it connects to that particular HDD.Last edited: Nov 11, 2015mason2smart likes this. -

Funny how PC took over thunderbolt after it was only used by Apple and had become a depreciated port (almost no support for thunderbolt or thunderbolt 2.0) because USB 3.0 trumped thunderbolt v1 and usb type c or 3.1 trumps thunderbolt 2 while 3.0 is a proprietary port and is backwards compatible and thunderbolt 1 and 2 are not and are not widely available (mostly on apple devices only). Thunderbolt type 3 will be backwards compatible with usb type c (just released) and will be pioneered by intel.

does anyone know where I might be able to get a second power adapter so i can keep one at home and one in the backpack? XoticPC offers a powerbrick but i'm not trusting as it says 230 Watt and costs less than what I have found online (which looks way overpriced...)

I don't really feel compelled to do pre-orders's much any more, as many games these days aren't as good at release as they are 6 months later or longer.
I used to be compelled to pre-order/pay for limited special edition games, with cool stuff bundled in. I have a lot of that stuff in boxes, I don't need any more
Recently there are some I pre-ordered from habit, like Just Cause 3, Metal Gear Solid V...
I almost pre-ordered Fallout 4 from habit, but I am working through Fallout Vegas again; I went back to it after FO4 came on the horizon, and after I finish I may need some time off before I feel like playing more --- or I might get enough into FO4 that I buy it right after I finish FoV
If you feel the urge to pre-order anything, do some research on previous issues from that developer / publisher, check out how long the complaints died out on their steam comments, when their first patch(s) came out and then you can get a good idea if it is a good idea to pre-order, or wait.
Many of us here have been gaming a long long time, we have a large game library, so we don't need the pre-order fix as much, and try to tune our purchases for value vs cost. Instead of 10+ pre-orders a year I might do 2 or 3.
You will see many comments like "I'll wait til the Game of the Year Edition (GotY) that includes all the patches and DLC, and then wait for a Steam sale weekend", that's optimal for many games that have a large offline component.
If the game is mostly online play like Battlefront then buy as soon as you can tell it's playable - during the Beta - or just after release.
Some of the IP is locked to Console release for months before it comes out the PC, so I will already have seen and played it, so I won't be interested in hitting it so hard at PC release as I will be getting it polished and cheap down the roadLast edited: Nov 12, 2015mason2smart likes this. -

A bit more detail of what we already figured here.
With these articles showing up I would say at anytime we should see the vendors post real prices. All in all between everything being released its going to be a good holiday.hmscott likes this. -

probably over $5k which is still too much

Has anyone heard anything or do you guys think we will see the GT80s with a pair of 970s in SLI for a cheaper price?
