Can anyone recommend a great high quality gaming monitor to pair with the GT80. Since G- Sync isn't going to be an option, I'm looking to get a couple of large 24-27 inches (or 30 in+ if the prices are good) displays that will help me enjoy the full glory of the Titan.

Huh, I achieved mine at +50mv. I will try +62mv with +260core.

I really like those 34 inch from Acer with 21:9 display. They are expensive though. -

Check out an Asus monitor possibly with Gsync, good quality and in the size you are wanting.Clark_$ likes this. -
Is anyone having issues with Nahimic on their GT80 Titan 263 after the TH2 update for Windows 10? I have Realtek version 6.0.1.7629 driver installed and version 1.2.9 of Nahimic installed, but pressing the big blue button to turn on/off the Nahimic processing does nothing to sound, and my overall sound volume is very low. It's as if Nahimic is installed, but does nothing! I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers and the Nahimic software with no luck, and there are no logs in the event viewer that give any indication of any problems.

It does the same thing for me on Windows 8.1... -

What still (sept) doesn't work, at least with the Asus SWIFT, is g-sync + SLI + DSR, you need to disable g-sync... maybe someone can try it and see if the latest driver(s) fixed the problem?
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/874997/gtx-980-sli-asus-swift-no-dsr-/
IDK if you want to go through the trouble, but GeDoSaTo will allow "DSR":

DSR Review (guru3d.com) - GeDoSaTo comparison to DSR / discussions
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393712
"Also worth mentioning is that forcing HBAO+ flags and AA flags often does not work when combined with DSR, much like gedosato. Which means you are going to have to choose between HBAO+, sparse grid supersampling, and DSR. And I think the former two are vastly superior to DSR in terms of image quality. Making DSR something you should only really use in games that already have good enough SSAO in dx9, or they run in dx11. Since HBAO+ and sparse grid supersampling don't really work with dx11 due to a lack of flags and dx11 being more complex."Last edited: Nov 13, 2015 -

As far as I know, gsync does work with sli but what doesnt work is surround view with gsync. Meaning no triple monitor gsync.

Q: How does NVIDIA G-SYNC work with SLI?
A: The NVIDA GPU connected to the display manages G-SYNC. SLI GPU setups work seamlessly with G-SYNC displays.
G-SYNC General FAQ
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/faq#q4
There are complaints over time about it not working well, and then improving, so with newer drivers improvements are happening, and probably new bugs being introduced. It also seems to be game / app related, some work better than others.
I don't have a big problem with tearing, and I am happy with the non-G-sync results from the GT80 giving high frame rates on the 100hz OC internal monitor.
For me G-sync isn't a requirement at 1080p. Maybe for the transition to 4k during Pascal => ?GPU?. -

G-sync works best with high refresh rate monitors and 4k displays so 1080p 120hz to 1440p 144hz and 4k 60hz.

%&*(@$#%^$^& Windows 10!I love it except for 2 things:
1. Automatic driver updates as soon as it's connected to the internet which can screw with manufacture-specific drivers.
2. I can't disable Cortana completely and keep it from running (It takes up more memory than any other process with nothing else open). Don't use it. Don't need it. Don't want it.Last edited: Nov 14, 2015 -

I was wondering if any of MSI's "bloatware" is actually needed for some function of the notebook? From the program and features list, I can see: Boot Configure, BurnRecovery, MSI Remind Manager, MSI Social Media Collection and Sound Blaster Cinema 2 (only because it's not working for me and I can't seem to find updated drivers anywhere). I'm on Windows 10. Also, is it advisable to go through Device Manager and update everything in there manually?

The newest GT72 / GT80 support/service tab will populate with the newest drivers/utilities, including Nahimic 1.2.9/Realtek .7629.
Here are the MSI supported drivers / apps / tools I keep installed. I use the newest I can find from MSI support areas, or OEM site if Wifi/BT.
BurnRecovery - use it to create a 32GB USB 3.0 flash boot recovery - test it! - do this immediately when you get the laptop, there are many that wait and regret it after they accidentally blow away the recovery partition - which can be on the boot volume or the 1TB HDD.
Battery Calibration - still haven't run it fully, so keeping it installed.
Realtech Cardreader - supports Flash card slots.
SCM - needed to switch GPU between Intel and Nvidia, which requires a reboot.
Synaptics pointing device driver - touchpad
Steelseries Engine - keyboard settings, macros, LED control settings.
SuperCharger - controls power during power off to "hot" USB 3.0 port, bottom right side on GT80, you also need it enabled in BIOS.
KB9X Radio Switch - ... not sure if I really need this, as I control from Windows.
MSI Afterburner - for GPU monitor and OC, there are other choices, but why not use the native one - if you use Prema's vbios you can't control voltage from MSI AB.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology - when I have a stable OC I set Power link disabled, write cache flushing disabled, and set cache to "write back" for best performance. Always do a boot volume disk check after booting from a crash - reverse settings while getting a stable OC/tune - you still need to do the disk check after every crash even if the tool says you don't need it - just to make sure.
Killer Suite / BT - newest Suite from Killer, I use the 2nd run of installer to uncheck Network Manager and Filter:
2nd run, Before
3rd run, After

I purchased my GT80 Titan-SLI with only 1 250gb Samsung SSD. I didn't want the 1TB HDD that the system would have come with. So, I saved a few bucks. The main reason I did that was because I have a 256gb SSD sitting around that I want to drop into this laptop. Are there any instructions out there on how to open up this laptop? I searched youtube and found one video in a language that I do not speak. I can't find ANY information - especially visual information that would guide me in opening up this laptop to slip in my SSD drive. I know that the place for the SSD is under that cover between the keyboard and the screen, but I'm not certain what needs to be done to get that cover removed.
Does anyone have the information I'm looking for? -

There are two screws at the bottom that go through the laprop the screws have an hdd marking and the other has a different marking unscrew those two and the panel slides offalb123 likes this. -
But the top cover is only for m.2 ssd, 2.5 is in the backalb123 likes this. -
Thank you for the quick replies, @Alienwaredelayed and @ZoOLf - I found what you were talking about and I have them removed and the laptop cover open.
ZoOLf, are you saying that I can't install the 2.5" SSD in the open space where the 2.5 HDD would normally be? It connects and fits perfectly. -
If you want check this for disassembly

The GT80S doesn't have an internals video yet, but the previous GT80's are very similar. The GT80S has 3 of the 4 M.2 connectors from the GT80, I think that's all that is different. It's nice to view the interior of the laptops, and how to get into them before you buy.

It might be doing post install stuff so leave it there for up to 10 minutes... just to be safe.
Lots of text...
Then hold down the power key till it shuts off, and wait a minute, then boot.
It should boot normally, if it goes into the BIOS, reset to BIOS defaults, then press F10 Save changes and to reboot again.
When you get into Windows after a crash / power reset, open file explorer, right click on the C partition and select Properties, 2nd tab for Tools, and Check the disk, if it says repair, run the repair, if it asks to repair on boot select restart now to check.
It's safer to reboot after each new driver uninstall/install, and then proceed with the next. If you kept installing lots of updates, ignoring the reboot request, this can happen. Even if it doesn't ask for a reboot, an uninstall of an old version requires a reboot and an install of the new version requires a reboot.
It may take longer than you are comfortable to boot, but be patient and don't give up on it too soon. Go have a snack and watch a video for 10 minutes, then come back.
Also, remove any unneeded USB devices, external storage or controllers you aren't using while doing all the reboots.Last edited: Nov 14, 2015 -
