Just curious if anyone happen to know about any major differences between the extended warranties from Asurion that you can buy on Amazon versus the warranty from MSI (North America Limited)? Any differences in terms of what's covered and what's not covered, accidental damage, and deductibles?

MSI warranty is manufacturer warranty, which normally provides 3-year warranty (non-accidental coverage only, however ADC is available for the first year if you register within 30 days of purchase in North America).
Asurion is a 3rd party warranty which normally doesn't kick in until after the manufacturer warranty has expired (includes both non-accidental/accidental coverage). Deductible amount varies from one plan to another.

I bought the ge 75 raider 1036 recently and I was wondering if it's possible to buy and replace the 51wh battery with the 65wh battery the is used on the models that have the 2070/2080 in them?

You can but make sure the voltage and physical dimension are similar.

Thanks for the reply. I would assume they are since it's from the same laptop but I can't seem to find a seller that has the 65wh battery used on this laptop in the 2070 and higher variant.

Thank you for the detailed reply. Looking at this video about 5:20 in, the battery looks very easily removeable so it should just be a matter of getting the 65wh version instead of the 51wh since they are both the same size. This is the page I am looking at to show the versions of battery used. https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GE75-Raider-9SX/Specification

Laptop MSI GL 75 95DK BIOS Version E17E5IMS.105
If i set memory multiply higher than 10 (133*10= 2660 ram speed), my laptop won't boot.
Tried Uncore aka System agent +0.150v, no luck.
    What might be the problem?

Also if i enable "XTU interface" in memory settings,

i can't control CPU voltage thru Intel Xtreme tuning utility, directly CPU voltage, or offset, doesn't matter, no control, Voltage remains ~1.255 instead ~1.100

Forgot to mention in screenshot, my ram currently running 2666 MHz 10x133
, aida64 reads spd of memory, so you can assume that memory rated for higher speed https://i.imgur.com/RHynwam.png

I managed to tighten my timmings a little bit

But cant OC mem even for 2800

Questions for the new GS66 Stealth RTX 2060

Is the RTX 2060 a full power card or Max Q?
I’m guessing the RTX 2060 is the new slightly faster version? ( whoever names these cards should be fired )
Anyone know what wattage it runs at in this laptop?

nVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 is full power Max-P, the 2070 Super and 2080 Super are Max-Q.

Wattage may be unknown until they arrive. Anyone have that info now?

This is not a question, but a request to MSI and others manufactures, PLEASE brings us the options to chose high end laptops pair with new AMD CPU laptop and High End Nvidia graphics cards, not only the 1660 TI or 2060.

(And please , improve your hinges... plastic support, hinges fail... makes losing all its added value on high end laptop)

    Thank you sir.
I get the “new” 2060 is the same but with a slight bump in clocks just was wondering also what wattage it runs at.
If i had to guess seeing the Super MQ GPU’s are 80W so will the new and improved 2060.
Was the 2060 in the GS65 80W? Last years model.

I see you have the MSI GE66 for pre-order also is the RTX 2070 model the super version or a “ last year’s regular” RTX 2070? Nvidia’s naming of these GPU’s is so dumb!

The GE66 Raider 10SFS is the GE66 version with the 2070 Super card that comes with a 280 watt power supply not to be confused with the one that is for pre-order ATM for 1799$, can anyone tell me when or if this version will be available in the states as its available for pre-order in Australia and Europe from what I am seeing with a google search.

GE66 with RTX 2070 Super is not available at this batch, maybe sometimes in the future.

Hmm, available in Australia and Europe but not US. I might have to order from one of the Euro companys then. I was thinking of overclocks.uk, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...z-fhd-i9-10980hk-gaming-laptop-lt-2bd-ms.html, anyone ever tried them? If there was an issue with the machine I wonder if MSI of US would take care of a repair under warranty as apposed to having to ship it back out of the country?
I may still go for the 1799$ version, that is great price but I would defenetly like the option of the more powerful 2070 super with a 280 watt power brick along with the 8 core cpu. I really want the better CPU but I dont want to spend 3k on a max-q card, I havent had much luck with max-q cards yet.

Thanks for the quick response though! I have had a GE75 2080 model in the Gentech cart for the past few days. I like your companys option of being able to have Liquid Metal on the CPU and have something different on the GPU like IC Diamond on the GPU as there requirements are different from what I have read on the forums. Liquid Metal on a laptops GPU from what I have read, isnt the most suitable and sustainable option compared to something like IC diamond. I Want a new design though, the GE75 has last years case which while nice I wish there was like a new GE76 Raider with the updated design. Choices...either way msi is doing a good job in this sector, I hope there product is reliable though. I just got back from taking my Lenovo Y740 to my local OfficeMax so it can be picked up tomorrow and sent to the repair facility for the second bad motherboard along with having to have a replacement within the first week as the PC kept crashing. 20 years, never had to send any of my dozens of laptops in for anything and now this. Cant wait to get my hands on an new GE66 though, I hope it performs and is well built.

If it's component issue then the US branch can take care of it since there's a global warranty available. However if it's a damaged casing then it's not going to be available.

The MSI GE66 Raider 10SF-045 is not the Super...it is last year's model. That is one of the reasons it starts at $1,799 with the base configuration.

Placed an order at GentechPC for the new GP65.

Does anyone know the expected availability date for it?

I believe MSI has some shipments of two models so far to resellers.

    GS66 Stealth 10SGS-036 (RTX 2080 Super Max Q)
    GS66 Stealth 10SFS-037 (RTX 2070 Super Max Q)

But i know these are selling out quick, so better to check with them.

There is no RTX 2060 Super.

Gaming Laptops will have these options. Obviously, Max Q models will end up in super thin and light laptops.
    • RTX 2080 Super
    • RTX 2080 Super Max Q
    • RTX 2070 Super
    • RTX 2070 Super Max Q
    • RTX 2070
    • RTX 2070 Max Q
    • RTX 2060
    • GTX 1660TI
    • GTX 1650
    • GTX 1650 Max Q
RTX 2070 and 2060 came down in pricing, to almost same level.
RTX 2070 is at similar/same price as last year's 2060 pricing.
Same for RTX 2060, similar/same price as last year's 1660TI pricing.

You will be able to score a good RTX 2060 laptop starting $1399 / RTX 2070 laptops around $1799. Lower if they have promos going on, but i doubt there will be any sale due to the shortage in laptop inventory.

As mentioned above, there is no 2060 super. But there is a regular 2060, and also a 2060 Max-q. From what I have read and seen, the gs66 has the regular 2060.

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask, sorry if it isn't, but I hoped the MSI rep could help me or point me in the right direction.

I recently purchased an MSI GT75 Titan 8RG, brand new, from Newegg, and was advertised to come with a 1 year premium subscription for Xsplit Gamecaster. When I received it and set everything up, created an account on Xsplit and updated to the newest version of the software, it never applied the premium subscription. I searched to see if maybe their was a redemption code I needed to apply, but there wasn't, all my search results indicated since it was preinstalled on the system, it was somehow attached to the files in the installation and it should have been automatic after creating an account. I initially contacted Xsplit support, and they had me install another program they offer, Broadcaster, to see if that would activate it but it did not, so they asked for the oem text file located in the installation folder, to forward to their tech department. It has now been over a week, and I tried messaging them again 2 days ago to see if there was any update but they have not responded. I'm wondering if maybe it would be best to try contacting MSI's support directly, or possibly the MSI rep here could help? Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

disappointed by the BIOS quality of my GE63 8SG, for a 3k€ price tag, I'd have expected a bit more functionalities than a standard AMI laptop.

Just use the key combo to unlock all the options you will ever need to change in the BIOS.

And the GE63 8SG is not a 3K€ laptop, its a 2300-2700€ laptop depending on the specific amount of RAM, storage and inclusion of Win10 key or not, and that is still pretty expensive, because that model is only so expensive due to all the leds around the chassis, because you could get the same hardware for less.

Sorry, I had the idea that they all went up to the 2080, the models that share the same internals(minus the GPU) and the chassis is the GL63/GL65, as well as the GP63, but they are capped at either 2070 or 2060, on those GPU models there is a lot more overlap and the Raider was indeed around 300€ more expensive just for extra leds, to get the 2080 you did need to either go for the Raider, or for another chassis.

Have you tried the BIOS unlock combo, if so, did it expose you the options you needed/wanted?

ok thanks that reassured me a little, did not have the time to test the combo keys until now. I was just "raging" somehow as I was just updating an msi tomahawk x570 bios and saw fancy it looked compared to the laptop ones.
Though a 170€ desktop motherboard capabilities are not comparable to a laptop mb ones, it came to my mind that there is a is a huge gap between the gaming msi laptop bioses and gaming mb ones.

Is it possible to toggle (switch on/off) the keyboard lighting -without- the Steelseries control panel on the GT63 (8SG)? I've seen some videos showing that it is possible on some models, but it doesn't seem to work on my laptop.

Sure, there are 2 intensity keys where the lowering one switches it off completely

Excellent, that worked. I thought those keys were for the screen brightness

Is there a way for the GT63 to switch between the nVidia card and the Intel GPU?

If it requires some drivers / control panel to do so, what is the bare minimum I need to install to be able to do this?

(I am not fond on having too many control panel application on the background so I've been sticking to drivers only as much as possible)
