Happy to help! Not sure about EU availability, but most resellers that frequent this forum do ship internationally.

I'm gonna use it for gaming, so larger screen is easier on the eyes. It will be heavier but I am a pretty big guy so I will be fine. :D

    Hi Geno,

Could you tell me if the GT72 Dominator Pro 2QE (more specifically the -211) can output to a 120 Hz external screen? Thanks!

    Hi,

Quick question :). Will the GS60 get the GTX980M? What about the GT60?

    Thanks!

It wont. 980m is too hot for slim gs60, it would most likely keep throtling all the time/temps would be unbearable for user :)

Quick question about the GT60 and every MSI in general I guess.

Can I remove the stickers on the keyboard? I notice that it's very polluted...

If I open the laptop to clean the fans or anything, would I void the warranty?

I bought the GT60 with the 870m about 2 months ago, can I send it to MSI and have them put in a 970m if i were to pay extra? Or are the motherboards not compatible? And If it is possible, any idea the cost from the 870 to 970m

Well, if you try to buy any sager, you will notice that they charge exactly $227,00 for the 970m, so I assume that will be the price

    Hey Matolati,

I sent you a PM regarding your question, but i will answer here as well just in case other people were wondering.

Yes, you are most definitely allowed to remove the stickers on the keyboard! no problem here. :)

If you open up to clean your laptop, as long as you do not cause any damages or issues yourself, the warranty will not be voided.

NDA, Please see rules holytoledo :)

Unfortunately, we cannot upgrade the GPU for you, as we do not offer this type of service. :)

Unfortunately we do not offer this service on MSI computers, it is just on select Sager models which support it as Sager does the upgrade directly.

Do you know if the 870m models will be able to support the 970m if we do a DIY upgrade? And will MSI eventually sell upgrade kits for it?

The GT60 models have never officially supported upgrading the GPU but we have read of users upgrading previous models. That would be something the community would have to help with. MSI has not offered upgrade kits before, the cards used in those upgrades were source on places like eBay. I have not heard of anyone upgrading from a 870M to a 970M as of yet.

    @ Welcome to the site.

I do have a question for you about the GT72. The SATA Ports for the 1TB drive and Rom Drive is it SATAII or SATAIII looking into getting this bad boy myself on the saving up part now. Its to replace my aging barebone MS-16F2 which has been upgraded to its limit in terms of GPU.

HM87 chipset has 4x SATA III ports which are designated to M.2 connectivity therefore the rest are SATA II ports.

    Hi everyone. I have a question :)

If I buy the new MSI GS60 GhostPro-064 from an US online store, am I covered by MSI warranty?
I'm Italian, and in Europe the -064 model isn't available (yet).

I have not understood really well how the worldwide warranty works.

    Thanks in advance.

You will be covered by MSI's 1-year limited global warranty.
Supposedly, you buy MSI product locally so there's a regional warranty for Italy, and when you travel to a different place and the system breaks down, this is the time you use global warranty service.
Global warranty is intended for users who travel around.

You can check out more warranty details from the US-region below.

Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me with this question I have.

I plan to buy a GT72 Dominator Pro with a 980m. And I was searching to see if the GT72 would enable SLI if I plan to buy another 980m in a possible near future, but it seems it doesn't.

So I was wondering, is there no way to have a 980m SLI in the GT72?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Geno,

I have one more question for you: in the MSI RMA instructions email I got it says "Please do not ship RMA with its original carton box if you wish to keep it." Does this mean the generic cardboard shipping box or the laptop box?

    Thanks!

Hi, no sure if thats the right place for such question but i will try anyways ;)

Wierd problem occurred with my gs60 2QE msi dragon center - i lost the possibility of changing SHIFT settings (3icons dissapeared, only buttons for windows key and high performance left in this tab).

Im also unable to change it via FT keyboard shortcut.
I tried to google it but looking for anything with shift+problem or so its a nightmare :/

And yes, i did reinstall the msi dragon centre - nothing changed :/

Somehow stupid win8.1 decided to swich the default boot mode from normal start to selective start (a lot of services was turn off by default and that was the reason for SHIFT mode not working).

Answering myself so any1 with same problem could find the solution :)

I have a question I have a gt70 214us I want to upgrade from the gtx 675 4gig that's in it to either a GeForce gtx 880m 8gig model or 980m 8 gig version. I want to know if they will work in my laptop. If so could someone give me some info on getting one of those cards direct from msi?

MSI does not sell separate notebook GPU upgrades direct to consumers. They will be doing it for the GT72 soon though - but that won't help you. Your best bet if you do want to upgrade is to ask one of the notebook customizer reps here what they would recommend and if they would sell it separate, since you will need one that fits appropriately physically (cooling and form)... Just note that they are not cheap at all

    Hi.

I have a question regarding GT72 2QD-233UK model. This particular model does not come with any SSD, but none of the retailer have detail on whether or not it come with the m.2 SSD adapter installed. What's the official words about this matter?

Hi, just a quick question for you, Geno!
What is in the secondary drive bay of the
    GT72 2QD-288XPL ?
I mean, does this laptop have the RAID daughterboard or do I have to add it to install a SSD? Also, the SSD has to to be of the M.2 type?

If I may add to this:
Are the they going to release a base 980M GT72 with IPS worldwide.
I hope it's not for certain regions only.( USA please! :))
I will be more than happy to wait for a base model with IPS screen.

    PLEASE HELP.
    ISSUE WITH THE CPU FAN.
I just bought MSI GS60 2PC (GHOST). Basically the CPU FAN (Right side) is constantly ON. I bought this as a MAC substitute for taking it to lectures, but with this noise I can't. Like it's not terribly bad, if u r watching a film it's fine, but if u r sitting in an auditorium then it's too loud. The thing is that it's CONSTANTLY ON (CPU FAN), even if I'm just browsing internet. Whenever I'm opening a program it sounds like a mini jet engine.
So are they meant to be like this (in this case it's going back to the shop), or it's just this particular faulty fan.
Coz I LOVE IT, but this sound makes it USELESS.
    THANX
