You have tried the common fixes if that fails. Like the pixel unsticker videos etc. Nothing you can do about it. Don't MSI support if it bothers you that much?
My HDD access light is dead. Again MSI support to fix that would be expensive courier fee with FedEx or DHL. So I just put up with no hdd light.

Those kind of dead pixels (they are basically called stuck pixels) are simply stuck in a particular color in a way. I had a samsung TV with a pixel whose blue portion didn't work, so red and green hues showed correctly except blue.
Not sure if there is a particular fix for this, mine was caused by an HDMI cable, and it self fixed after 3 months. I have another monitor that always shows it. Who knows?! -
I am not recommending this, but for me it worked once on a SONY monitor / with tv tuner built in. I had a dead pixel and no matter what I have tried, didn't work. Last what I did and it works even today (pixel problem has gone), I played with a magnet on the screen. I do not recommend doing this (yes, I repeat myself) as you may end up damaging / or not the monitor completely. You can get this monitor replaced for about $50-$60. The question is, can you do the replacement?!

Guy, i need an advice...
My plextor m5m has arrived and tried to proceed with trasnfering oem SO to this ssd... i made recovery disks (4) with MSI Burn Recovery.
I disabled secure boot in bios.
Recovery starts, i click yes in 2 advices about losing all data... then it pop a windows and says something like the partition has to be the same, the name has to be the same...
What is the solution?
Thanks -
Anyone have the new 326.80 beta driver? How did it install? Did you have to alter the .inf file? Is there improvements in games?
-
I dont know about a beta driver but my windows update says their is a new nvidia driver avail to install so I assume its an official release? -
EDIT: scratch that. After I posted this I got low ram warnings. Something I have never seen since my 4GB UX32VD. 16GB almost fulled up overnight. Massive ram leak issue is back!
My G750JX 770M had adaptive vsync. But its disabled for some reason or not available on the 780M or is it an optimus thing? -
I instaled it and so far works slightly better than 326.59. No need to alter the inf file but make sure that you download the notebook installation file.
-
Oh I must have had the desktop version. Downloading from Nvidia this time.
On a side note i decided to push my 780M to near its max and got P8872on 3dmark11.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16F4
I think I could hit 9k. My clocks are +175 core and + 520 memory 100% stable. No artifacts or anything strange. Played a few hours of war thunder at 1440p no issues.
Downside is it requires cooler boost. Max 80 degrees and i loose about 1% battery every half hour. Those clocks aren't needed, just more for seeing what the 780M can do. I think with a 4900HQ or 4930MX unlocked and working correctly, could do 10k in 3dmark11. -
The protective transparent layer on the big sticker of my GT60 just came off so I removed it. With it came off the main specs written on it
Maybe I'll just write them by hand
I also managed to fit a 2TB 15mm hdd in the lower slot, the one below the touchpad. Had to make a small mod to the lower panel though
It should do nicely as an intake
I'll cover it with a black metallic grill I've got here. It will turn out nice.
Any suggestions? -
Hi can you send me 2 nstech o tt fan for a gt60 2od? I can pay you via paypal.
-
I installed the new 320.80 drivers and now I'm only getting 325 clock speeds on BF3 instead of 850. My mem speed is also only 800 instead of 2400. Anyone have any help?

You can now write in the correct specs ^-^.

Just got my laptop a week ago and have a couple questions. I tried searching the thread, but haven't found what I'm looking for.
1. Is there any way to keep the trackpad from auto enabling itself? I have a mouse plugged in 99% of the time, but whenever I unlock Windows or start a game, it enables the mouse pad.
2. When gaming, the power switch LED changes from white to orange. I assume this is hybrid power or is it any time the 780m is being used. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The orange light is indeed showing when the 780M is activated, it's great for keeping a check that nothing has enabled the GPU by mistake on battery.
-
2. While gaming if your light is orange (though I believe it is red), it is a good thing because your optimus works and your dedicated GPU (which is NVidia) is kicking in (Just like Maker mentioned that it is a really wonderful feature). So yeah, it is only changing the colour from white to red or orange (whatever you want to call it), when you use different types of applications, switching from the iGPU to dGPU to give you an idea if your machine performs as wanted. -
It actually appears to be SCM that's enabling it any time I log into Windows 8.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Have you tried disabling it through SCM?
-
Almost brought Splinter cell blacklist for my Xbox 360... Then though, nah I want it in 2560 x 1440 with AA on
Game is very intensive, Ultra setting kills the 780M, FPS with everything Maxed DX11 about 20 fps... Haha. I disabled the really fancy effects DX11 effects
And run this:
AF x 16
FXAA
Ultra textures
High shadows
And I get 60 fps all the time. Very smooth and still looks great. FYI 4900MQ inbound, for testing if it can play ball with XTU with an ok overclock I will keep it. If not will stick with the 4700MQ -
I hope it does not have the same issue with multiplayer like conviction, which limits your framerate considerably.
Do you have any recommendations for a monitor on the 32 inch range with QHD res? -
So I've beening messing around with a 4900MQ OEM chip. So far not too impressed. I can't get much off an overclock out of it. Even with an unlocked bios. I have can run a single thread at 4.2Ghz. But when i tax the CPU 8threads it will drop the multiplers like its throttling.
Even adjusting TDP levels in the unlocked bios. No real luck. Max I can do is 3.8 Ghz all cores stable stress testing. And that is undervolting the CPU core -100mV.
Overvolting it a little has the effect of lowering top multiples....
Temps have been good.
SO not worth it. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4900MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16F4 Physics score of 92xx in 3dmark is good but. I think I'm going to put my 4700MQ back in and use my unlocked bios to overclock it like XTU without the need of XTU as it will be at bios level.
BTW the unlocked bios from Svet (MSI forums, donation custom bios) has a huge range of options. Shame the bios or TDP limits can't make use of it. At least not using the 4900MQ. If you want an upgraded CPU go for the 4800MQ.
On a good note I repasted my CPU and GPU due to the swap and this time went with IC liquid pro. I'm seeing improved temps. Maybe too because I removed some of the thermal pads and just used blobs of IC diamond instead. Mainly on the 780M samsung ram chips. And the chips next to the CPU on the left of it.
Edit: It was fun if a big waste of time lol. Corrupted my Raid0 about 3 times in the testing process. And couldn't boot. Thankfully I have Aconis TI daily backups to restore.
Best I clocked was 3.9 all cores with a -90 undervolt and messing with the TDP by setting TDP UP in the CPU info setting. And 4.1ghz single core max turbo.
Not sure if to keep it or not. I guess I expected too much but according to my passmark.com score my overclock is close to a 4770k stock clocksNot bad for a 15" notebook. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4770K+@+3.50GHz&id=1919
My 4900MQ overclock score was 10191 -
Nice score there Hendrickson. So with the unlocked bios you are able to change the TDP values in the bios? I am able to change them in XTU, but I'm guessing they don't stick.
-
-
I think I was unrealistic thinking I could clock it like an overclocked 4930 and disappointment set in. However with hours of test and crash I found my CPU's sweet spot. Best of all the TDP remains. stock and temps are very good mid 70s 80% fan stress testing using XTU.
I'm undervolted and overclocked the best of both worlds. 4 hours straight and its cooler and so far 100% stable.
41 / 40 / 39 / 39 multiplers with -80 Mv undervolt on core. -60 on ring. Ring set to 41
Here are some benches I used to run in the day on my 3820TG when I added my i5 580 and overclocked the hell out of it. Not sure they count now>
So now I'm happy, the 4900MQ stays and this is a beast of a machine that I intend to keep for at least 2 years. -
Also, another reason could be are you using an external monitor? An external monitor will also use the Nvidia GPU and keep the light orange (at least using HDMI and probably DP).
By comparison, unless I'm playing a game or hooked to an external monitor, my light is always white. -
Posted this in the 2OC Owner's Lounge, but going to post it here to get more people looking at it. It's probably not an issue between the models...

Has anybody had issues getting the computer to go to sleep? It seems to be fine after it just boots up (meaning I can put it to sleep many times without problems), but after a while of being on it seems to randomly not want to sleep. This happens whether I close the lid, use the sleep hotkeys (FN+F12), or use the sleep command in Windows 8. The screen will go black, but the fan will not stop spinning and the keys will remain illuminated, and the computer becomes unresponsive until it is power cycled.
Note that this does not happen all the time, but only occasionally. I'm not sure where the problem would lie... -
-
Its listed as cache voltage offset. Main thing is to undervolt where you can get the best chance of not hitting TDP limits.
-
Also I just made a huge.. huge.. huge mistake that almost ended with disaster. I decided I was being brave or stupid and decided to adjust more settings. I adjusted the PEG/DMI Ratio to 1.25x. It rebooted to nothing. Just a black screen. Then kept rebooting over and over. It would boot up for about 10 seconds to a black screen and then restart again. I was unable to do anything. I tried to blind command the bios to defaults with delete key mashed, F9/F10 commands but nothing was workng. I panicked. I removed the battery and did a wait period and restart. Tried to drain the system of all power and then tried all above again. Tried to clear the CMOS with that wire near the fan. Nothing worked. I was convinced I was going to have to send it back to MSI.
Out of desperation, I pulled out my 4700MQ, installed that, and magically it worked! I got to repaste and put my 4900MQ back in again. O well. I guess it was all a very good lesson, and now I have fresh paste again!
DO NOT EVER ADJUST THE PEG/DMI RATIO IN XTU!! -
-
I hate it when i do things like that. I only touch the performance options in the unlocked bios. If something doesn't work the bios resets next boot because I have not made it permanent. There is an option in the bios as a safe guard. Best not to touch that or BLCLK either (Not like only Core CPUs). I learnt the hard way back in the day too.
2 hours of splinter cell and no crashes yet (Fingers crossed, looks my overclocking and undervolting is 100% stable) If I test CPU and run furmark for a while it will throttle once the CPU hits around 80c and the multiplier drops to around 37. But never will i be running both CPU and GPU 100% it was stable for 10 minutes but very hot to run any longer. I've noticed with my undervolted CPU, core, ring, GFX, io all undervolted i don't seem to be using hybrid.
Does anyone know if the unlocked bios gives an option to disable hybrid? Can't seem to find it. I can disable the iGPU (Might test that for adaptive vsync)
The unlocked turbos give a nice boost over stock that's for sure. PS CS6 64bit loads up a bit quicker. All 3 seconds of it. Video encoding is faster etc etc. My 4900MQ is here to stay. I'm also sick of opening my system up.
On other note what battery life are people getting? I think my 3 plextor mSata's has taken a big hit on battery life. I will be lucky to get 3 1/2 hours with Wifi on. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The easiest way to get that setting to reset is to change the ram configuration (single stick or a different stick inserted) and it should recover.
I have only started testing if it's possible to get the ratio changed so please leave that alone just now lol. You have to be very careful with that as the baseclock/DMI ratio must come together to set the SATA and such buses at 100mhz. -

Updated BIOS Released Today....
MSI Global GT60 2OD
Description:
1.Add temporary workaround to fix legacy mode display garbage on POST.
2.Support Quadro K3100M.
3.Modify device string length.
Guess I'll give it a go. Doesn't look like much of a change there.
Edit:
Flash successful and all seems fine to me. Not sure what exactly they changed though? -
I won't be using it will keep my unlocked bios I think.
Anyone having issues with skype and as soon as I load it I get an instant BSOD and reboot....I don't think its related to my 4900MQ overclock as everything is stable for hours on end till i load skype. -
So I just received my 20D today. I bought one from Amazon, and wiped the Win8 install after I received it.
However, the one thing I didn't think of was PowerDVD. Is there a way to just install that, and not have to use the restore discs that I made for the machine? Seems like it'd be relatively painless, but I'm not sure how to get it back.
Thank you! -
Hi guys, I've had my laptop for about a month now but I've been having some issues with it. For one, the laptop gets stuck booting sometimes, the loading circle just stops and I have to try multiple times to be able to get on. Another problem is that the KLM isn't working. It was working at first and I had the 3 keyboard zones backlight but one day when I started my computer, the backlight is now all lightish blue and KLM doesn't do anything. Any ideas on how to solve these problems? Thanks

Updated to the latest BIOS. Was much easier to just put the new BIOS on a USB drive and load it in the BIOS. Not sure why the instructions are so complicated in comparison.

Hi Guys,
I got the GT60 with the GPU 780M chip and am running native resolution on the main screen. I want to hook up a second monitor at 1920x1200.
I can't seem to get it to work. I tried the Intel iGPU (Power light is white) through the D-sub connector. No Go. Tried the mini-display port via an adapter to D-sub, which should be running the GTC 780M chip (Power light is Orange). Still no go.
The adapter is reported (by other reviews) to work at 1920x1200.
Has anyone been able to get a 1920x1200 resolution on a second monitor? If so how?
thanks in advance,
Luto -
My drive often takes a few open and closes before it detects a disk, so maybe there could be a slight problem with the drive and powerdvd doesn't like it? (Once a disk is detected, they seem to be perfectly fine - and I'm talking disks in general here) -
I'm currently trying out TotalMedia Theater and that seems to play Blu-Rays fine.
Is there a way to reassign the touch sensitive buttons? Since I'm not using PowerDVD the movie icon does nothing, and since i updated the System Control Manager that button doesn't work either. I would figure this would be something pretty easy to do but haven't found a way to do it yet. -

Does anyone have tried Bioshock Infinite yet? I´m trying to run it with 326.80 beta drivers but I can´t play for more than 1 minute before it freezes/crashes. I've tried reinstalling, turning off msi afterburner, setting off vsync, forcing dx9, but nothing seems to work
