When I get Win 7 I'll be doing a clean install. Is there an easy way at that time to combine the two partitions that came with this computer into one?

How is the transition from 32bit to 64bit on the gt627 for any of you owners that have done it? Are the drivers problematic?

Mine is running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and absolutely everything is working fine. I installed all the drivers from the original disk but the Toshiba Bluetooh Stack (download from Toshiba website), nVidia drivers (nVidida website) and Wireless drivers (I donwnloaded from MSI website, the ones in the disc didnt install).
The only trouble I had was for the activation, I used many activators, restart the computer, but Windows never booted again, it get stucked in the windows loading bar, so I had to activate it in my own way :nah:

The gt627 has 3 mini pci ports right. Anyone know where on the laptop the one with the wifi card is? (front?, back?) and what can the empty pci-port along the front edge be used for?

Wait for normal activators-after W7 is officially released. You can use it without activation 3 months.

    Seconded,

There's nothing wrong with 53C regardless and depending on how long you've had it and how the environment is, dust also factors in.

I'm russian too. Can you tell where you got the activation? There are ton of activators, but most don't work the way they are supposed to... Like replacing files to look as RC1 etc.

I tried flashing my BIOS to 1.0 Z but the update freezes. What I did was boot to dos from usb drive and then run flash.bat. I waited for 15 min for it to finish but nothing happened. When i powered down and booted up again after removing the ac and battery for 5 mins as instructed there was no difference in BIOS version. Has anyone done the update with sucess ? And how did you do it? Do I need a special boot tool? The reason I want to update is the win7 activation does not work.

Did the same thing again and this time it worked. Used HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool together with some system files. Maybe it was a corrupt archive behind the mess like you said. Thank you for the help Svartalfdd. Activation worked like a charm after I updated the BIOS. Thanks again.

Hey should I undervolt my laptop?

My min temps were 38C for CPU, 49C for the GPU and 39C for the HDD.
My Max temps were 63C for the cpu, 70C+ for the GPU and 40C for the HDD.

I haven't played a game yet so i don't know if the HDD and GPU would be at higher Max temps, but I using the orthos program to stress the CPU.

ABout problems with rmclock better use the special thread for it.
They are not quite the same, but you could try mine. Just remember to test under 100% load for a while. I got BSOD recently when gaming after moving to Windows 7, so I upped the voltages 1 step up.

You'd be starving the CPU of the extra juice?

Voltage is often quite helpful when overclocking to be fair.

Are u sure that u download MOBILE driver from nvidia site? Driver from desktop videocards can`t be installed on notebook. If driver that u download correct - delete current driver from device manader, reboot, reinstall new driver.

its not mandatory in usual way, but if i understands u correctly - u can`t update video driver, only audio? btw, check the version of video driver installed on your system and driver that u download from nvidia site, may be the drivers are equal? ;)
