What the heck is the 8700B?
    4.6Ghz Turbo clock, 12M cache, 65W TDP

Is that going to make it into anything? Is it overclockable?

Please don't mess the new Tornado F7 up. Please, don't save money on speakers, don't save money on the screen, and most importantly don't mess up with the cooling. Make strong good fitting heatsinks, use 2 fans if needed.

Don't skimp on the keyboard either. You have the chance to make a real desktop replacement, don't mess it up. Please.

MUX support (preferably with support for switching outputs while booted) will be the main deciding point for me. It's useful both for vga passthrough to a virtual machine (so you can pass the nvidia gpu to a virtual machine and use vga_switcheroo or equivalent software on the host operating system to switch output between the host and the guest operating systems. One main benefit of this is that unlike in laptops with Optimus or a single nvidia gpu, a MUX setup permits you to run another operating system - Linux or FreeBSD would work best - as your main one and run a Windows VM with the GPU passed through to get 95-100% graphics performance for games, ML etc.) and for battery life in low GPU load. (The main selling point of the Tornado series over the Sky X4/7/9, AFAIK, is superior portability, in which case you clearly want better battery life) My only other gripe with the current model is with the horrible looking MSI keycaps, but it's minor compared to the MUX issue.

Edit 1: the ideal MUX configuration for me would probably be a physical switch that doesn't require a reboot, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high for that.

Edit 2: If you're going for the Ultimate Portable Laptop, it would probably also be important that the battery is as large as possible (99Wh max for air travel?), though a mux switch is still the most important factor for battery life.

Edit 3: I just got in touch with several people in /r/VFIO, who told me an 8-core Tornado F5/7 with a MUX switch would be the perfect laptop for their needs, and that they would purchase and publicly recommend (on the VFIO forums) the Tornado F5/7 laptops if a no-reboot-necessary mux switch was implemented. (So you can expect massive support from Linux gaming and VFIO communities too if you decide to implement it)

Edit 4: The NVIDIA GPU must be capable of running by itself for this to work. Ideally, it should be possible for both GPUs to be active at the same time, running independently from each other, the MUX switch determining which GPU is connected to the display.

Edit 5: Contrary to popular belief, Optimus support is not very useful once you have a rebootless MUX configuration. It'll maybe save you 2 seconds on a slow switch, which I'm willing to bet isn't at all significant to the average buyer of a laptop like this, especially considering how much unnecessary complexity Optimus forces you to deal with.

My laptop is currently running an i5-6400 cpu, and i purchased an i7-7700. But when installing this cpu it gives me a black screen (not even the bios).
Do i need a bios update in order for this to work? If so, how do i obtain the correct bios?
    I've got a Tornado F5.

@Luc van Dijk Reset the CMOS, take the battery out. Unfortunately it is on the back side of the mobo. See the official owners thread for more details or google Mr. Fox's videos.

I hope they will base the Tornado F7 on the WT75/GT73 which is a much cleaner and less bulky design compared to the GT75.

Do you guys think that Eurocom will base their F7 on the GT75? If yes then totally worth the wait.

If they improve CPU cooling ( @Falkentyne has shown how MSI's is insufficient for a 45W OCable BGA without repasting and BIOS Tweaks), incorporate the mechanical keyboard and wonderful screen, put in an 8-core Coffee Lake-S processor + Nvidia 1180 GPU (with proper cooling), and @Prema graces us with his BIOS, this could be the best 17 inch laptop out there. One very important thing is making sure that MSI's firmware that limits CPU OC'ing is removed/modified (again Falkentyne found this on his GT73VR).

I don't know how Eurocom will make the F7 (if and when it comes with Z390) work the way I want (sing). You can read the link for your self. F7 barbones without fully OC potentiale is worthless for me http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-overclockers-lounge.788975/page-1480#post-10654659

Then maybe when HIDevolution get their hands on it (like they did with the Tornado F5 (they rebranded it and refined it)), we will get a @Prema BIOS?

Seems that this model only received a paper launch and it's getting a little late in the cycle...
The firmware hosted at the GT75W support site would brick it as it is a copy-paste job for a different mobile chip model.
Officially it doesn't even support unlocked 6 core (K model) chips or Geforce GPUs and ships with 230W out of the box.
It clearly isn't targeted at a gaming but pro-sumer audience with deep pockets that are forced to work with Quadros.
Even if the firmware part is taken care of and bundled with a larger PSU, I wouldn't expect the cooling etc to be up for the upcoming chips...but hey at least one more LGA system to choose from! :)

Early on @Eurocom Support talked of this model being the one to support Intel's 8 core CPU. Is that still the case?

October is a long time away, plenty of time for Intel to rush to market with an 8 core CPU for the Xmas season.

Is the power and cooling of the F7 designed to support 8 cores?

This is going to be an interesting question. I suppose it's possible (anything is do-able and possible) if they make a special heatsink for the 8-core exclusively but the extra R&D cost behind that is going to be a lot.
Or make one heatsink that can cover all ranges of processors used.

Yes the F5/Evoc can be upgraded to a CFL 6 core CPU 8600K/8700K/8086K and the lower SKUs as well with a custom BIOS. The CPU also requires (at least on the 6 core parts) two small pieces of kapton tape or electrical tape (worked for me) to isolate 2 of the pads on the back of the CPU.

Unfortunately at this moment I have reinstalled my 7700K and put my 8700K back into it's rightful home my desktop. I will be swapping the 8700K back once the 9900K launches and I upgrade.

I should have an 8086K EVOC 1080 system upgraded soon enough and the owner has asked it is tuned/stressed and I will run Passmark for you.

    After some chatting with Eurocom:
    - The 9th gen CPUs won’t happen till Q1/19
    - The Tornado F7 based on C246 chipset is going to support 9th gen LGA1151 CPUs.
    - Other models Sky “C” series are getting refresh to Z390 chipset.
    - GTX 1180 / 1170 is planned for Q1/19.
    - Both P870KM1 and P870TM1 will support GTX 1180 / 1170
    - 9th gen CPU would require new Z390 (not Z370) based motherboard. Z370 doesn’t support 9th gen CPUs
    - i7 9xxx and i9-9xxx are coming in October this year and they will be compatible with Z370 based motherboards. These are Coffee Lake-S refresh not Ice Lake
    - They are offering Tornado F7 only as complete system, no Barebones.
    - Tornado F7 is new model so there are no reviews yet. It is world's 1st C246/Z390 laptop.
    - Z370 won't support 9th gen CPUs
    - Z390 will support both 8th gen and 9th gen

This information seems outdated. We already got confirmation from motherboard vendors and Prema that Z370 will support 9th gen CPUs, and the upcoming Nvidia GPUs are 20 series, not 11 series.
