Amd may force Nvidia to release Volta next year cause their new GPUs are supposed to compete at the high end market

Yeah, those 1080's and the new 125 hz screens look great. Crossing my fingers in hopes of getting a fair offer.

The problem is MSI has been coming up with OVERPRICED upgrade offers. You are worse off with their offer compared to selling and buying a new laptop. That's the reward for our brand loyalty.

    And yes, I am salty.

Agreed, 'if' the upgrade fiasco went viral amongst the gaming community the gaming community, they would be more likely to consider the alternatives to MSI that don't advertise one thing and then replace it with a vastly increased priced alternative.

Guys, I read about many of you who are hoping for a proposal with GT83VR 6RF, the 1080 SLI.
Unless you US bros be much more fortunate than us (and perhaps may also be), put a lid on it.
As you can see from my signature I have the last out of the previous generation, bought eight months ago ... and however it was proposed to me, for trade-in, only the 6RE, the 1070 SLI....no other option, take or leave.

Yes mate, two times. It was told to me that the expected SKU cannot be modified in any way, either with added hardware nor with different models from those proposed. The formula is "take it or leave it"

However I think most people have accepted, the discussion here is becoming less dense. MSI does sign customers a sheet, if they accepted ... which requires user's silence on forums and media.
Increasingly seeing fewer people here ... I guess that means that most have accepted the trade lol

Nah, it's not that, we are all just talked out, all the options and complaints stated, and lots of readers / lurkers waiting for something to comment on from MSI.

We don't have the offer from MSI in the US yet...

you might have the best offers ... it is clear that msi has been testing this program before on smaller markets. This could still lead to dissatisfaction of these same smaller markets.

So, basically, they want us to pay for their misprediction justifying the upgrade price by the newer components that we don't really need? Awesome. Can they actually prove that we need a newer CPU, RAM or SSD to run a new GPU? If not - should we pay for those "extras"? I don't think so.

There's a reason they posted the program's enrollment details on NBR, and not the front page of their website or Facebook page. It's all about minimizing losses, and avoiding the broadcast of a bad PR situation.

Their goal is to break even on the trade in program, while dealing with as few customers as possible. Anyone who ignorantly misses the Oct 31 deadline i just screwed.

    Hello Fellow MSI GT72/GT80 Users,

It has become apparent MSI does not care for their customers by lying, bait and switching, and stalling any response to such an easy problem to fix. We have tried contacting "customer service" the "BBB" with no avail. MSI, also seems to be keeping magazines from publishing any information about this incident. I along with other members of the forum are starting a class action Law Suit Against MSI TO END THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL. It is sad that we must go to this point but we cannot play ring around a rosie for ANY LONGER The simple fact that there is a dead line on signing up for the trade in program is an unfair attempt to rip off customers that do not know about this issue!

It may be that the lawyers will make the big bucks, but our settlement in the Class Action we are and Lawyers are creating is your next upgrade generation laptop WITH NO CHARGE and we void the Volta upgrade as a result!

We have 11 of 25 to start a class action against MSI and need 14 more.

WE DONT need to wait for a RESPONSE from MSI to reveal the trade in program being the EXACT same as our friends across the pond have received.

Do not wait any longer and let us get this Lawsuit in Motion! Get the settlement YOU deserve! Send an email to [email protected] to join the class action!

    Thank You Fellow MSI Customers,
LETS SHOW MSI WHAT OUR "SMALL NICHE MARKET" is MADE OF!!!!

Just to give you an update about what happened to me: MSI germany was also very hesistant to commit to anything. We are currently stuck with an "inofficial" "per case" trade in program. MSI is offering to buy the old machine for a fair price and then give you about 150 Euro discount (end user prices !) on your machine. I finally got then to offer me a deal that I sell my old machine myself, get the GT73 at a seller of my choice at 150 Euro discount. This is ridicoulous. The are actually trying to make money out of this mess !
Since I considered this a lack of a warranted quality I and this kind of things is in the court of the seller in germany - so started to put pressure on my seller and finally got him to agree on a 15% discount on a machine of my choice - which is a WHOLE LOT more of a real offer than what MSI did !
It's still not great but it is ok...

This is indeed ridiculous ! Basically they are admitting their offer is not worth it ?? In any case whether we accept the deal or not, we should be entitled to a compensation as this is clearly false advertising. If we take the deal it must clearly be in our favor, i.e. represent a better value for money than what we could except by selling our laptop and buying a new one at any re seller !

Just been having a look at other options to MSI as MSI want my laptop and £1,124 to "upgrade" to a GT73VR 6RE(Titan)-034UK with GTX1070.

Or I could sell my laptop on ebay and still spend less buying the below, and I could drop my existing SSD's straight in and still spend less than their "upgrade"

    AW specs: Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ, NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 1070 with 8GB GDDR5, 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300-nits Display, 8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz (1x8GB),
    1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s - Not bad for £1,349.10.

MSI really don't have a clue. I'm in disbelief at how insane their offer is.

Evidently the small number of users who have requested the trade allows this. Here too we are very few yet they have maintained an extreme behavioral rigidity instead.
If the assessment for your old notebook is honest ... this is a better offer than the one that was made to us and also allow you to get the 1080 SLI, something which we have not been granted.
For example MSI Italy evaluated 3500 euro my "old" notebook, whether they did a further discount to me of an additional 150 euro on this evaluation ... I could spend another 1350 and buy 1080 SLI. Instead here I am bound to only one choice.

they might be blocking you because nobody is coming to a resolution and you keep on spamming. try to come up with some reasonable trade in. There is no way their company is going to absorb the cost of all the trade ins like that. I'm in AP macroeconomics right now and its gonna hurt their company really badly to do something like this as it is. Maybe take the difference between desired cost and their cost for the deal you desire and split 50/50 plus they cover shipping and offer and promise the replacement arrives at your doorstep within 2 weeks...

    Hello,

    You take AP Macroeconmics right?

    Lets break that down:

AP = Advanced Preparatory and CP = College Preparatory This means you are in high school. Highschools are the only places of education that offer 'AP' classes. This also means you did not buy this laptop with your own money, your parents did. You simply do not have that much of a connection with money as we do. YOU did not make the money that paid for it, and therefore when someone rips you off its on your parents dime and time and you probably could give less than 2 craps about it because you think "Oh whatever my parents paid for it... what do I care"

You have also stated in other posts that
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And Now it is a heathen on our time listening to your teenage non-related extreme arguments that simply do not have any sort of context in this thread as others who paid for their laptops have more of a 'connection' with the features they paid for as opposed to getting it for free.

    Thank You,
