If you put it in just before the Holiday ended, I'd resend the same one now :)

It can vary in response times. From months when it first started, to days now.

So I've been thinking about this, after more emails from people claiming MSI hasn't contacted them to correct their valuation error.

    My offers so far....

Original offer 29/09/16 - offer value - £784 (against SRP)
    30/09/16 - offer value - £1,085 (against SRP)
    01/10/16 - offer value - £1,275 (against SRP)
    19/12/16 - offer value - £1,349 (against SRP)
    04/01/17 - offer value - £1,499 (against SRP)

That would be a total of £715 in 'true' calculation errors.

I have the emails with the offers archived if anyone would like them?

MSI are happy to let me pay the full cost of an MXM upgrade ~£600 for a notebook with fewer features than my existing notebook. They will only let me trade up to the GT72VR for the cost of the MXM upgrade. So I pay full upgrade costs, slightly over actually (GTX 1070 costs $750, my GTX 980M is worth a minimum of £250 according to completed sales on ebay) but I lose my existing RAiD options and the MUX switch which is very useful when I'm out in the sticks in my campervan with nowhere to plug a notebook in. And if I want the same spec but with the features of my existing notebook I have to pay a premium to get them back!

I cannot believe that MSI will not offer a like for feature set for the cost of the upgrade.

If you still don't hear anything, don't be surprised. I've attempted to follow up by email ([email protected]) and PM (a couple of MSI reps that have posted here) but no response at all. US Customer.
I'm sure it will happen eventually.

Actually after seeing this, i'm feeling a little better and know that I just need to wait it out.

<edit>Actually I heard back from MSI snallygaster today... yup just need to wait patiently at this point. :)</edit>

What model did you decide to trade-in for? Since they refreshed the GT73 product line with the new Kaby Lake processor, I am wondering if they are even making any of the older GT73 models anymore. I have seen prices between comparable systems of the GT73 of old vs. new and the MSRP appears to be basically the same. So it appears that MSI is not charging any extra for the refreshed GT73. Based on that, it seems to me that all people trading in for a GT73 should get a refreshed model and not one with the older processor. Saying that, I am wondering for those that have accepted the trade-in, sent the information to MSI but haven't yet had the trade-in shipped yet will be getting the model they requested or a similar one of the refreshed GT73 models?

I got thee days left, but usually I get a reply on Saturdays, anyway.

Where do the laptops come from when they send the new ones out ?
Is it from the EU or the country you live in ?
I know in the uk, you have to send them to Poland to have them fixed.
So I`m guessing you send them to Poland for their evaluation.
Does the new laptops come from there ?

    So that`s a month in total ?
I know inward bound its ups, ground mail.
Unless they are going to air ship it for the trade in.
It would speed things up if the new laptop is domestic.

So have the USA offers changed any, or are they still the same lousy offers?

MiSJAH, it sounds like you accepted an offer - did you give in, or did they finally give you an offer that you felt was fair?

So i finally got a response

We have just charged your Card, just waiting for it to clear then we can ship your laptop out.
It will most likely ship out by Monday, I will update tracking once available.

But i find it odd that this was sent yesterday and yet there are no pending charges on my credit card for this.

well I have seen that some have successfully put a 1070GTX into GT72 2QE and all works, well at least 99% which would work for me. If I can find some more info on the GTX1080 MSI being dropped into my GT72 2QE I have no problem going that route myself when I need to. Still no word from MSI for me and been over a mth

SSD, not too bothered, I only use it for the O/S, everything else is on my hdd.
Oh well will keep you updated on what happens, at least it shold be sorted now and I have sent my Dragon edition

I went with cross over. Tracking shows they've had my old computer for a week, still no change on my credit card.

Can anyone who has done this tell me how long it takes to receive the refund on your credit card?

I don't like the idea paying full price for the upgrade, sending my old computer back with know e-mail response or refund on my credit card,
There was nothing in the box I was sent except the new computer. I expected at least a return label and return shipping instructions!
I know I put a return address in the box I shipped back.

Earlier, wasn't MSI upgrading Haswell/Broadwell models to Skylake for the same price as Skylake to Skylake... If its based on the GPU they shouldn't be charging more $$ for new processors cause they weren't doing that before......
