Both chassis are the same 4 speakers + Sub, Only difference to date is the GT727 has DDR3 1066. With the current models that have DDR3 there is no increase/decrease in battery life that is noticable.

also like to coment on msi technical support they were very helpful answering all my question and also found me the retailer who was going to have them. -
i went to them and they told me they had no idea when thy would be getting it!
anyway congrats on that. i guess i will be paying them a visit soon.
oh and so you didnt pay anything yet? -
The design of this machine is somewhat lacking... There's a vent on the right side, right where you would have your mouse placed.. I'm hoping it's an intake vent. Having hot air blowing against my hand for hours at a time wouldn't be fun. Anyone have more knowledge about this than me?
-
well, my 4 yr old acer has the same design but its lifted off the desk by a cooler and i dont place my mouse near it.
plus, it doesnt run so hot, unlike newer laptops anyway
think the msi shuld have no prbs with it. -
RK Computer just listed the $1599 GT725...and of course, no stock. I wouldn't be surprised to see it show up within the next two weeks.

The GT725 only have Vista 32bit, so it can't use all 4gig ram. Then it feels a little bit stupid to pay for 4gig. And how about the gameplay, would it be a big difference if this lappy would have a Vista 64bit and use all 4gig ram?
-
ask for an upgrade when you buy one? thats what im planning to do
-
-
the sales team called me twice already saying they will get them by 2nd week of jan and i seen it my self on there stock it says 15 coming when i was in the shop.
and if you take finace option you dont have to pay anything only £15 application processing charge
once they got mine they will call me and i will let you know. -
i actually wanna see a demo model before i actually put down money on one. the build quality is very important to me but seeing as i cant really wait anymore, i just might put a deposit on one later -
so the price is very reasonable and a friend of mine work for this company and they have all msi laptop and he said its good and i search on the internet aswell
MSI is been under rated which is good because they will raise the price once they know they are good so take the advantge of it and buy one.
you can any laptop is the world but you can get a garuntee the it would nt go wrong.
end of the day its a piece of machinery it can go wrong does nt metter how expensive it is for example Hadron Collider cost 6.4 billion and went wrong within 10 days this laptop is only £1125 -
good point dude! you've just pushed me closer to the "im getting the GT725" zone!
oh BTW the Asus G71 is pretty good too, its 1129 on laptopsdirect.co.uk but the GPU is not so good, i also hear that Asus service here is bad... -
and as u said the graphic card NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GS is not as good as ATI 4850
maybe one of the expert from here can tell how big is the diff
not to mention i think asus is ugly -
T9400 is the same as the P9500, performance wise. However, the P uses less power (25W) as opposed to the T, which uses 35W(?).
-
-
good one! haha do let me know when your Gt725 gets in. be interesting to know how good it is
-
Any news on where this beast could be bought in Canada?
-
IF I am right, you can order it through amazon.com and have it delivered to Canada.
-
-
I am curious as well. I don't want to order from the US and deal with customs. -
I am going nutz waiting.cant decide if i should just buy the gateway P-7805u , before its price goes up it has vista 64 and ddr3..
msi is still not clear to me vista 32 ddr2? Ugh!
Alsos does any1 know for sure if the pre order price at amazon 1359 is a special offer..will it increase when released? i know when games are offered at pre order they are a little cheaper..THANKS -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate

So, has anyone found the "lesser" GT725(P8600, 1600x1000, Bluray-free) in Europe ?
All I can see is the P9500 one, but I don't think I need a processor this powerfull, I don't want to go blind staring at tiny pixels(1900X1200) and I sure as hell don't need that crap they call BluRay that is driving the price up. -
-
http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=newsdesc&news_no=712
You know, you don't have to use the 1900x1200 resolution on your screen. -
thanks for the link! Seems some questions posted in this thread have been cleared up (comparing 725 and 727
- the GT725 will have a 5 speaker system, one of them being a subwoofer
- the GT725 4850 has ddr3 vram
Question regarding retail availability... what stores carry MSI usually in the USA?? -
system ram ddr2 or 3
Vista 32/ 64? -
sorry, cant help with the 32 bit/64 bit question -
hey EVO VII
any news on your side yet on the GT725? im curious to see what specs continental EU will get -
Chances are, that this model may cost 1000 flat, let's keep our fingers crossed.
The GT725-087UK is about 1250, the GT725-075US is at 1170 so it would only be fair, if we can have a GOOD sub 1000 notebook for once. Usually notebooks are quite expensive here in the continental EU, especially in Germany and Austria. -
Sorry if this has already been asked, but I appear to be in the market shopping for a nb again, and see that Amazon has the -074US version w/9cell battery 320GB hdd, pre-ordering @ c. $1350 + free shipping.
Now, has the resolution of the screen been released? The MSI page just says 17" Ultra Vivid but no resolution details. (Also looking at the Asus G50VT-X6 from newegg @ same price.)
[EDIT]
Yes I've decided to give ATI a shot again(if I can find what suits my needs/desires at price) after so many years as even if the ATI guys can't write a X11 driver to save their lives the OSS devs probably could, and this is a good price for what should be a good GPU. Just wish that there were some available in 15.4" GX62x form factor...
[/EDIT] -
1680 x 1050 for the 074us
1920 x 1200 for the 075us -
-
Does anyone have a clue of when it is going to be released through amazon (the GT725-074US)? Because I am planning to buy it, but I'll have to leave the US in the first days of march, and I obviously don't want to buy it and miss it...
-
-
I'm worried about march talking into account the shipping days. And by march I would already be gone, so I should have it in february.
MSI GT725 now with Intel Centrino & ATI Radeon Mobility 4850
