It uses an 80 plus bronze SFX 450W desktop unit in the box.

This is what somewhat irks me, because it shows that our 330W psu could handle higher than 47W TDP. If only these CPUs were at least 60W, we could enjoy much higher performance! :D

..... at hotter temps :)

I am currently testing but it seems my max core and memory clocks are +175core and +300mhz memory. With those I got around 20900 graphics score, combined near 5500. Any higher than those cores resulted in the benchmark crashing. I am using Prema's vbios and no additional voltage, so that could be one reason.

Anyone know why 3dmark won't run fullscreen? I upgraded to the full version, out of steam but I can only run windowed, which results in no final score heh.

Also I ran all my OC'd tests at 88F ambient temp, turbo fan on, max CPU 80C, GPU1 55C and GPU2 64C. Without turbofan my temps reached CPU 95c, GPU1 74C and GPU2 84C

Have you tried alt + enter to make it full screen? Did you try re-installing it? Which version are you running (steam or stand alone?)

Tried it with both, when I get home I can give more info.

It didn't occur to me to try alt+enter while trying the windowed mode, heh :)

and so far my current top is +220 core +350 memory with +50mv. Will try pushing it higher little by little.

Also, anyone reran the benchmarks with the newest nvidia drivers? I think they might have lowered my performance somewhat, since my graphics score dropped slightly.

Use the unlocked version of BIOS & VBIOS, they will help to increase the margin for overclocking.

Please school us how you are running +220 core? I am assuming there is an unlocked vbios possibly to remove the +135 limit?

I will test the new driver today and report if I see a drop in score.

This is a new high score for me on stock clocks with the new Nvidia Driver so I am seeing more performance. I can confirm that you can not clock up or down the cores now with this new driver, the memory will still except changes.

There are no unlocked BIOS as far as I m aware of, but I am using Prema's unlocked 980m vbios.

Since I am away due to work, I haven't tested more, but I'd say 1.4ghz can be achievable. Temps are fine for me with turbofan, and the temp limit is 92C with prema's vbios, so we have a nice window to test.

I am assuming he released an update on his tool then with official support of the 980m? I only did a small amout of research and the ec flash to control fan tables had my attention but there was no 980m support at that time so I will dig back in on the msi forums, thanks

I am assuming this is a +135mhz overclock score though correct? Please insert the details as slated on page one so others aren't mislead, great submission to have an SLI 970m added to the mix so thank you!

Yes it should be included in the comments and normal testing is with Cooler Boost off while in SPORT mode. Very importing when displaying temps as you probably see in the other posts with Hardware info included in the pic.

I had to reinstall drivers, 3dmark etc and afterwards, everything is working again at full performance. I will post it when I get home, but I think I can breach the 15K barrier easily this time. Got 14.5K with a modest OC.

Just tried a quick run with +250 core and +500 memory, but it wasn't 100% stable and I am sure I saw an artifact or two at some point. Here is the run: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/6815763 I did notice that the CPU did not work as hard, nor the combined was a good as before.

Very impressive score, and I'm afraid, out of my league haha :D There is a limit to how much my CPU can help my GPUs. But I am not mad for being second place, Graphic score wise :)

I wouldn't game at this level as I don't have any games requiring anything more than stock clocks honestly that I play at 60fps & 1080p.

Prema Mod vBIOS for MXM GPUs (Prema's site page..... with this link, you will not need to setup a Tech|Inferno account for download) Also, for future reference, this link is also available in the 'GT80 Owner's Lounge' lead (No.#1) post.

HERE is a direct link to the file:

LOL! The password is listed on the site page. Also, YES, that is the correct file.

Termal compund CLU on CPU and Antec7 on GPUs
CPU Tuning -35 dynamic core voltage offset [email protected] GPU +235 and Mem +510

Comments: More Testing, single run as I test to see how far I can push things, better temps at higher CPU clock. Cooler boost off. Seems like my physics score is better at 4.1ghz.

Have you had a look at your cpu behaviour over the cpu test using something like xtu?

Yes initially I did while I was running the physics test to see how far I could push the cpu with temp and stability. In the end though I believe the power brick is tapped at 380 watts, seems like any time I push past the system is completely unstable.

I can run the cpu at 4.3ghz stable until I turn the 980s up then I have to back the cpu off not due to heat but what sees lack of power.
