    yeah it worked for me and it runs fine but I think we shouldn't use it, see it shows 6 cores, this really is only meant for the 8th gen CPUs:

    [IMG]

    I personally don't like the Dragon Center especially not on the 7th Gen CPUs because Dragon Center limits you to a max overclock of 4.1 GHz only whereas I can do 44 GHz on all cores just fine without the Dragon Center AND it keeps resetting the VR Current Limit to auto which causes CPU Throttling. You need the VR Current limit anywhere between 100A to 200A depending on the overclock to prevent throttling.

    Hello all,

    @Phoenix - I probably don't have too much time to pencil in a one on one session. Having a baby, jee wilickers. This is the first time since last Tuesday night that I've been on any computer. Life is nuts right now. I was tying to find the information you post for your recommended settings that I can go through, and maybe if I get stuck or if there is more you do in your one on one session we can try and figure out something, sorry about my availability.

    I tried to search for your post in a few threads but was unable to find it.

    Also, anyone aware of some entry level overclocking for this particular 7th gen laptop and 1080 GPU? ---I basically have 0 idea what to do and don't want to blow my laptop up.

    Thanks all!

    The tweaking session requires a minimum of 2 hours, there's no way around that. Blame Microsoft's trash OS

    If you wanna try some of the tweaks yourself:

    NBR Windows 10 Clean Installation Guide
    Windows 10 Tweaks and Fixes (Index post #1)
    O&O ShutUp10 - Do not use Windows 10 without it!

    As for the overclock, in the tweaking session, I can do a few stress tests to see what your current temps are and overclock you based on that. Overclocking is not a 1 recipe works for all thing.

    Also, I don't recommend anyone to overclock before using the laptop for at least 2 weeks to make sure it works fine at stock clocks first.

    Unfortunately...... The worst decision Killer ever made was to partner with Intel and use their crappy range WLAN cards.

    Killer should change their name to pussy cat now they are no longer a killer

    New BIOS E17A3IMS.10A for the GT75 8RF / GT75 8RG that fixes GSYNC not working for some models

    Note: Make sure your laptop is connected via the AC Adapter before proceeding

    1) Download E17A3IMS.10A

    2) Right click on the ZIP file, then go to properties, and make sure it doesn't say the file is blocked at the bottom right

    3) Extract that file by right clicking on it and choosing Extract Here, then go into the E17A3IMS.10A folder

    4) Place the E17A3IMS.10A file (not the folder itself) on a FAT32 formatted USB stick

    5) Reboot your laptop and go into BIOS by spamming the Delete key

    6) Go the 2nd tab in the BIOS (Advanced)

    7) Scroll to the end and hit UEFI BIOS Update

    8) Select UEFI BIOS Update again in the next screen

    9) You will now see a number of drives, keep selecting them one after the other until you find the USB Flash Disk. you would know it is the USB Flash Disk because it will have the E17A3IMS.10A in it

    10) Select Yes to confirm the BIOS Flashing

    11) Your laptop will now power off then power on automatically

    12) Now select Proceed with flash update

    13) Wait till the BIOS Flashing is complete. Your system will power on/off a few times and you will only see a black screen. Do not panic and DO NOT manually power off your machine otherwise you will brick your system! Keep waiting until you see the MSI Logo and quickly hit delete to enter BIOS

    14) Your BIOS Settings have now been restored back to default so make sure you change the boot mode from AHCI to RAID if you had Windows installed on a RAID setup previously.

    So MSI is still allowing people to manually unlock menus with AMIBCP 5.0.2 (not 5.0.1) by keeping Bios Guard disabled, huh? @Prema

    biosguard.jpg And what is this spahgetti code?
    20 copies of the same freaking menu??

    Looks like you can still disable TERMINAL VELOCITY BOOST too.

    I don't get it, you're saying you can't enable the Intel HD Graphics now? Is that why on the GT75's Drivers page there is no download for the Intel HD Graphics driver?

    So what happened to the button on the right right under the power button which usually switches graphics? Is it like not there or does it do nothing?

    @Falkentyne On the GT75 Drivers download page, they say the correct order to install the drivers is:

    Please follow below sequence to install driver. 1. Chipset, 2. Intel VGA, 3. nVidia VGA, 4. Audio, 5. LAN, 6. Card Reader 7. WLAN, 8. BT, 9. Touchpad, 10. ME, 11. USB 3.0, 12. Radio Switch, 13. Others

    Oh and they list USB 3.0? I wasn't aware that the GT75 needs a special USB Driver :rolleyes:

    Go figure :rolleyes:

    Yes I noticed that the other day when tweaking a fellow NBR Member's new GT75 Titan-056. I couldn't install the latest nVIDIA Drivers. Although it's the same GPU as the one in the GT75 7RF and GT73 Titan Pro :rolleyes:

    What if we use the INF File from the MSI nVIDIA Driver and paste it in the driver folder of the latest drivers, do you think that'd work?

    If there are some tweaks by MSI then maybe not or works partially. Long time ago I did try something similar and got a missing control panel.
    OK, I checked the latest MSI driver inf for gen 8 vs. the latest Nvidia OEM driver MSI inf. Nvidia is still missing the latest MSI IDs, for instance for 1080
    NVIDIA_DEV.1BE0.1211.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1BE0.1218.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1BE0.1220.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080"
    and probably the lower cards, too.
    I suppose they get added soon. There are differences in the sections so changing infs probably doesn't work.

    Nvidia doesn't put in new Device ID until the ODM/OEM's instruct them to. So there might be a hotfix released once MSI gets around to telling them about the new ID's. For now however would using J95's .inf files work?? I know this means you have to disable Driver Enforcement to do this but if you must have latest drivers it will be the only way for now.

    Why would the MSI device ID be different anyway? Did they slap on a new revision of a video card and not tell anyone about it?
    Why not just use the same card that was in the GT73VR and GT75VR? its the exact goddamned heatsink and VRM layout anyway....

    Yes for GT73 you need the older Realtek Driver and older Nahimic. You cannot install Nahimic 2.5 on a new Realtek Driver. I know it sucks

    Realtek Audio Driver v6.0.1.8273 / Nahimic v2.5.19

    I don't know what kinda stuff the MSI Drivers team are smoking but they just released a new MSI True Color. Same version as the one posted 5 months back, same exact file size, but newer date. On all laptops that is not just the GT75 page.

    Because the chipset is different the last digit will be off from that in the nvidia driver.

    10DE(Nvidia). {Model}.1462(MSI).{System SKU ID}

    That's why GTX1060 in supported hardware on MSI notebooks will show 10DE.1C60.1462.11AF but in an unsupported system it's 10DE.1C60.1462.11FF which the 11FF is not in the nvidia driver it will be the same with the new GT75's.

    So you'll have to mod for driver if you want to update to latest which means turning driver enforcement off so you install the modded driver or wait till MSI tell Nvidia the new SKU ID and Nvidia release a new driver or hotfix driver.

    As a side note I am loving Nahimic 3 on my GT72. Just downloaded it from the GT75 page the driver for realtek audio and ms for the app, then modded the audio driver slightly hint hint SKUID just like Nvidia.
