Trial and error is the only way to truly determine this. Drivers behave differently from computer to computer. What works for one or more of us won't necessarily do the same for you.Ivan994 likes this. -
Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Win10/8.1 'F8' Boot options 'Safe Mode' & 'Disable driver Signing'
cmd (Admin)
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
![[IMG]](images/storyImages/DisableDriverSignature7-600x445.png)
If you still cannot install unsigned drivers then:
1. Open a command prompt with Administrative privileges and type this command:
bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
2. Restart your computer
3. Install the unsigned driver.
To re-enable device driver signing, again type: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks OFF

The above will require secure boot to be set to disabled as nointegritychecks is a protected command that secure boot blocks.

Shouldn’t stop you.
Almost all if not all notebook manufacturers still let you disable Secure boot. -

Yes, this is Intel SATA/AHCI controller therefore it's best to use manufacturer driver instead of generic driver.Spartan@HIDevolution and Solid Eye like this. -

Hi, I’ve owned an msi gt75 titan (purchased new from Newegg) for about 5 days and when it’s worked it’s been fantastic, but about 20% of the time the computer has had a variety of issues. The first issue started the day after I bought it, when the computer stopped being able to see WiFi networks or even search for them at all, I connected it by Ethernet and downloaded updated drivers which seemed to fix the problem temporarily, however the computer still often and very briefly has that same problem of not using WiFi. Two days after receiving the laptop the computer would sometimes not charge even though it was plugged in the computer would indicate that it was in fact plugged in but would say “not charging”. In what seemed like a result of this charging trouble, the computer ran the game I was playing at the time slowly (not slowly from WiFi but rather slowly in terms of FPS). However after unplugging and replugging in the charger a few times it began to function as normal again. It had a similar problem the next day and I updated the nvidia drivers which seemed to fix, however I had the same problem today and updating the nvidia drivers again did not seem to resolve the issue and the computer has been running slow in terms of FPS and performing simple actions. Any advice on any of these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and have a nice day.Last edited: Nov 25, 2018 -

No idea what's going on here.
Can you do me a favor?
When you are getting these "slow" FPS's and it says "plugged in, not charging", download "BatteryInfoView" and please send me a screenshot of the batteryinfoview screen.
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/battery_information_view.html
You can upload screenshots to imgur (I recommend you make an account there" then you can just post the 'direct links' to the pictures you uploaded (there is a button called 'direct link').
Bonus points: download RW Everything (google it), install it, click on the EC (Embedded Controller) tab and give me a screenshot of the hexadecimal window grid (make sure it's large enough to read).Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
What does it exactly say? Plugged in not charging? If so, what % is the battery? As this behavior is totally normal... battery charges to 100%, then stops until it falls back to 89% and starts to charge up again on its own... Also it might not start to charge if you are actively gaming at that moment till it drops way low to 30% or so. I assume if this is the case, there is something else affecting your fps... But if it were to say that it runs on battery (as in not plugged in at all), then you might have an issue indeed...
Also make sure to get the latest wifi driver rather than whatever is on the msi support page. -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
If it's at 90% or so and says plugged in but not charging, that is a *feature* to protect your battery from being overcharged.
Make sure you also have the latest MSI Battery Calibration Tool installed:
MSI Battery Calibration 1.0.1807.0401 (Uninstall the older version of MSI Battery Calibration that Dragon Center installs first then reboot before installing the new version)
Also make sure you have the latest WLAN Driver/Bluetooth:
Killer 1550/Intel WLAN Driver 20.100.0.4/ Bluetooth 20.90.1
Note: After you download any driver, before extracting it, right click on it, go to properties, then hit UNBLOCK from the bottom right since this file came from the internet, then extract it. If you don't do this then all the files you extract will have a BLOCKED Status often leading to erroneous or incomplete installs. -
Thanks and sorry for the vagueness, will do as soon as I’m back at the computer. Honestly I’m desperate at this point so if anyone’s even willing to help me through teamviewer or a screenshare, I would really appreciate it. I’m new to computers and was suggested this and wasn’t anticipating all of these problems.
The biggest and weird issues are that when I’m playing sometimes my laptop will suddenly just not detect wifi at all like I said, even though it’s not in airplane mode or anything like that. I skimmed through another thread and saw some people had the same issue, but I didn’t see anyone post about a solid way to resolve it.
The FPS drop I told you about is this weird thing where while I’m tabbed into the game screen (I play league of legends, which really isn’t intensive at all), my nvidia drivers will try to update themselves and then after that happens, my game permanently suffers from packet loss.
There’s also another thing: could this all be chalked up to my SSD being somewhat full? I noticed this last night and noticed that the default directory of all installed programs was my SSD (it’s 250GB, and it’s about 60% full), but stuff like old_windows or program files or program files x86 is located there and I really don’t understand how to move them over to my HDD/partition my programs so that they don’t clog all the memory on my SSD.
Will send the screenshots and information you mentioned in your prior response as soon as possible.
Thanks for your help. -

I don't own this laptop so I can't help with your other issues, and you really should be using "Shutup 10" and disabling all those automatic updates. There is no reason for the Nvidia drivers to auto update themselves, ever. You may want to consider running O&O Shutup 10 and disabling all that weird stuff winblows 10 gives you.
All I want is the BatteryInfoView screenshot window and the EC RAM window (From RW Everything--EC RAM means Embedded Controller, not system memory RAM--click the EC tab in RWE) chart (should be 256 hexadecimal bytes in a grid from 00 to FF), when you are having 'lag problems' and you say your computer is "plugged in, not charging".
If the battery is >90% that's normal.
Batteryinfoview and RW Everything (EC tab in RW Everything) will also show me if you have some throttling flag happening, but I need to see both of them when the problem happens. -
Could you maybe share with us your msi help desk info exported file? There we can precisely see what programs/drivers you have installed. 60% full should not give you problems yet. I recommend you leave program files where it is, but you can change the location of downloads/music/videos/documents/pictures to your hdd. You can do this when you open windows explorer, right click on each of those folders (you can do that on the left side) and go to location -> move...
Regarding windows old and other junk files, you can use ccleaner to get rid of that. Lots of people would not recommend ccleaner, but I have been using it for years and years ever since windows 7 and never had issues at all. Just don't check it to clean whatever you cannot tell what it is and keep it up to date. If you don't want a program to do it for you, you can at least just remove windows old by deleting it, not like it's any useful. Do make sure to make regular backups of your windows, especially on an msi laptop it's a must.
As for updates: do you happen to have geforce experience? If you don't use its recording features, I would totally remove it. The potential issues it can cause are not worth it. Windows does not usually update drivers on its own unless the drivers were missing completely or were ancient/not compatible... You can also try to check this. Open start, type advanced system settings, open that, go to hardware tab, device installation settings, choose no... see if the problem stops. If it does not help you can turn this back on anytime. -

1) This is the drivers thread, your issue is much bigger than a driver question so please make your own thread in the main MSI Forum as to not hijack this thread.
2) DO NOT just delete the Windows.old folder! That is a SYSTEM folder and you do not want to delete it on your own, do this, it will get rid of it and all useless temp update files and other junk: How to Enable Hidden Options in Windows’ Disk Cleanup Tool
or simply download the ready-made shortcut from here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/73r686tn8no1xw1/Disk+Cleanup+Shortcut.zip (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ADBLOCKER BEFORE VISITING THAT LINK)
Then run it as Admin and select everything in the available options
3) With so many issues, I seriously suggest you return this laptop to whomever you bought it from.Papusan likes this. -
