I can only guess my previous post to felix was not seen, but I am not going to bother repeating myself or covering old territory......![]()

MSI GE40 + Razer Transformer Notebook Case = Ownage
-
GE40 seems to be something really new for msi, i suppose to battle with m14x alienware line but, i suppose, priced with attention...screen resolution is perfect for middle range vga, i have not read anything about 760m but probably is a balanced choice...
-
About GE40 (italian site): weight is about 2,0kg, vga performances rated to be similar to old 670m ( NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M - NotebookCheck.net Tech)
MSI GE40: 14 pollici, Intel Haswell e GeForce GTX 760M - Notebook Italia
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760M e 780M nei primi test - Notebook Italia -
i always like alienware with their cool design and keyboard but the price is always at least 15% more expensive with the same exact specification
-
According to my experience with my gx660r (heavily used in these last two years) msi products are great for their price, the overall quality is very good, i don't know if the higher alienware prices is someway justified with better quality and support, or if it's only due to marketing factors.
The new GE40 covers a gap between the two brands, previously msi line didn't offer a 14" laptop: now you can choose a gaming solution with 14, 15.6, 17 inches according to personal taste, mobility needs and price, a good news for customers i think.. -
Well, almost all of the products that big vendors like Dell, HP, and Lenovo sell have high sticker prices, especially the business laptops, but you can haggle more than 20% off on them (30%+ on Alienwares) without much trouble.
For Clevo and MSI laptops, you don't have to haggle, which is great if you live outside the US. -
At the moment here in Italy there's not anymore an official reseller line for Msi product, so i have to refer to Germany or UK (which come with very interesting prices very soon, compared to the official listings).
According to my personal taste, GE40 model looks aggressive as a gaming laptop needs to be, but someway more stilish and mature then m14x.. -
Does anyone know what buttons are on the left there??? On the right must be power button.

Generally, I price them for quick-sale, but I am still playing with the ones in my sig,
-
Lol whats the point of keeping both your GT70 and GT783R? Do you use them both for separate things?
-
i'm very curious to read about intensive reviews of the new line up, my only msi laptop (gx660) is an overall good product, but it come with some bad details, such as bad lcd panel and, most of all, a nasty keyboard...i hope that new products will come with a new quality level...
-
Is there anywhere I can get it in East Malaysia like say Miri??
-
What was wrong with the keyboard of your unit? I do agree that the LCD was pretty average and mediocre in viewing angles. It was only good to watch during very bright places in daylight. Thankfully they have skipped that AUO panel for a while now, and newer versions come with great LCDs

Funny how quick you posted that lol, I also just saw it from there Facebook page. It looks so nice and a lot less toyish look like the old GE series had. Can't wait to see more.

About 3% of everything manufactured has a defect.
The people with defective parts are the most likely to post negativity.
Likewise, this post of hearsay.Do you have any firsthand experience with products you're posting negativity about?
Most bad things result from pilot error.
The screens and keyboards in all the MSIs I've owned are problem free but I've had bad computer hardware from time to time.
I just move on and not cry about it to anyone on The Internet that will listen. -
The problem I hate about buying from a shop is the dead pixiel problem
-
I have to say I've never had a dead pixel on an MSI laptop, I'm sure it happens but so far luck is on my side.
-
I think I'm sold on the GE60 with the SSD+HDD combo if they offer it in 300nit matte.
-
Where do you see this model? The only models I am seeing are just with a 750gb HDD and no SSD.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 -
I don't know.
I could have sworn I saw a GE60 with SSD+HDD, but going back through the thread, it looks like only the GE40 is offered in that combo.
If a reseller doesn't offer one in that combo (I'm sure someone will), I may just have to piece it together myself. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
My first GX60 had a dead pixel and what looked like a wonky GPU. Luckily, Ken is a god among men so there wasn't too much hassle to get a replacement.
Well, an mSATA SSD can be inserted aftermarket, can't it? -
when is this new noteboks coming out ? ETA ??
-
Probably Jund XX , not sure of an exact date but very soon.
-
New notebooks will be available most likely after computex!
-
Do we know the weights for the GE-60 and the new 14" Model yet?
-
I am not sure about the weight of the GE60 but as for the 14" model it's called GE40 and the weight will b below 2kg and the thickness of the notebook is only 1 inch
-
Some gaming benchmarks for the 700M GPU's:
In Review: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M, GTX 770M & GTX 765M - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
The 780M is beastly and can pretty much max out every game, amazing!
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
GE60 is around 2.8kg, GE40 is around 2kg, below 2kg my , its 1.999kg, yay below 2kg! -
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
and that pic of the reseller in the 3rd page is wrong! 2.4kg for the GE60 it is! or I read it wrong!
-
The GE40 is listed as having a FHD 1080p option, that's a nice surprise.
Does anybody know of some USA based resellers listing them for preorders yet? -
Cant wait for re-sellers to start putting these up for preorder, im actually very surprised in the performance of the GTX 765m, its way better then I was expecting. It performs at the same exact level as my desktop AMD 6870, which is more then plenty for me. After seeing these benchmarks and a full spec sheet of the GE60, I will definitely be buying the new GE60 over the Lenovo Y500.
-
Wait what, USA only? God damn it!
-
if the ge40 even has decent build quality ill get one.
-
Xotic PC is now selling every new 2013 MSI model, they are all now available!

wow only $1990 for the GT70 with GT780M. Thats a pretty good price, and I reckon Gentech will offer that as well.
-
Does anyone know if and when the gs70 is coming out? Have they said a price yet?
-
I haven't heard or seen anything since the last post on this thread.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 -
Gentechpc.com also have them listed! !
-
Grr...both xotic and gentechpc doesn't say if the ge40 has backlit keyboard. I'd take ge40 in a heartbeat if it has that option. Ge60 looks great with the backlit keyboard, and it also offers better ppi, a killer lan, and better speaker... Hard Choices!!!
-
I m pretty sure it does not.
-
I'm like 90% sure it doesnt. Also unless your looking for something that is very portable, your better off getting the GE60. They both go for $1200 but the GE60 had a better GPU, display, backlit keyboard, better design (personally)
