@hacktrix2006 Thank you for the modded drivers, been using it for months. Recently i updated my laptop GE73VR 7RF from Windows 1803 to 1903 and the modded realtek 6.0.1.8781.1 was working fine in both Chrome and VLC media player.
Just yesterday I made a fresh window installation using boot-able USB for windows 1903. The Nahimic effect is not working in chrome but it is working in VLC. I tried the 8781.1 and even tried the latest driver version. it failed.
hoping you can help me. Thank you.
EDIT: I tried uninstalling using your uninstaller and also tried uninstalling manually from control panel and apps in settings. After the installation, the settings that i saved/used earlier was there, it wasn't set to Default

It's a chrome issue not the drivers. Have no clue when Google will fix it. If it's not Microsoft breaking things it's Google in a hold my beer contest.

hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
How is the latest version performing for you all? -
BTW, Reddit seems to have a new way of making sure Nahimicsvc32 doesn't hijack Nvidia cards again even though its told not to through Nvidia CP, which it seems to like doing with Optimus MSI laptops.
Just to recap (in case it hasn't been shared here yet), it's through Windows 10 Settings -> Display -> Advanced and picking the two Nahimic service exe's (one is in wow64 and the other in system32) and putting them on "power saving".
Seems to be working for me, not sure if it's the hack or it's just Nahimic finally being fixed. Apologies if it's old news.
Thanks for all your hard work @hacktrix2006! -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Edit: Reading up on it now seems it can be done with registry edits so most certainly doable.
Edit 2: I have made a reg patch will find a way to intergrate it into the installer.
Edit 3: I have now added it to the installer script ready for next driver version release, I will however require that people using Optimus System during its Beta Testing phase so please let me know if you'd like to test the Beta Driver when i make the next Beta Tester roll call.Attached Files:

Right i am going to be needing Beta Testers again, @JeanLegi if your up for it, I also need users that have a Laptop which has Optimus Tech for the test as well.
If your interested in testing Driver Version 8804.1 with the new fixes and your running a Optimus Tech laptop that switches from iGPU to dGPU please DM me that your interested and i will invite you to a closed Testing session.
Edit: Install created and Uploaded ready for Beta Testers.

As for your question the Modded drivers i supply are always the Latest version (MSI's download page is known not to get updated as often as it should), it also allows people whom have Nahimic 1/2/2+ systems to use Nahimic 3.
The installer also has intergrated fixes and options for every user, so you can install the Latest Realtek drivers with or without Nahimic as well as repair Nahimic etc.
The beta version is to test a fix where Nahimic 3 Application is set not to use the Dedicated GPU on optimus thus no more Orange light when you open Nahimic or it service is running.
I have also just added you to the Beta Testing Convo so you can test the latest drivers with the fixes included. All infomation is there that you'll need. -
Just want to ask about that Nvidia staff. But you doing good job, try that last driver Realtek and it works good. Some times windows update trying to update it to 8622, but it works good

If you using my modifed driver that should stop, If you Talking about Nvidia Optimus, the new Realtek drivers force Nahimic 3 UWP to use the Intel GPU rather then the Nvidia GPU thus the Nvidia GPU should be constantly on idle now when Nahimic 3 is open.
I don't mod the Nvidia GPU drivers i leave that to the pro's @j95 and @alanfox2000 .
As the saying goes to many chiefs spoil the broth.
If you look in the important section it tells you how to fully stop Microsoft from overriding the driver. -
But yes, i did that from important section, but Microsoft trying to overwrite it to 8622 anyway, so i did one time and just rollback after that with choosing the reason that my software dont run good

Modded drivers normally adds Device ID's to them so they can be installed on aftermarket upgraded laptops or desktops, even if the OEM/ODM doesn't add support themselves.
So modded drivers have tweaks in them to in order to help performance or improve performance, add or remove functions etc.

BTW, sliiiiightly off topic (but strangely relevant), but apparently the whole "Reddit powersave fix" thing actually also works with Silent Option as well for those of you who have chosen to use SO in lieu of Dragon Center for fan control.
It seems to similarly fix how Silent Option ALSO sorta likes to hang on the Nvidia drivers for some reason after the GPU powers up (and down again). Same steps as with the Nahimicsvc files (the SO executable is in its own directory though). SO still works to read and set the GPU fan curves fine even when set to "power saving" as far as I could tell.
Just posting it here in case it's helpful for anyone. Not really worth putting into the driver pack though as not everyone uses SO.Last edited: Oct 1, 2019 -

(OT) I use slient option myself and TS. But thanks for info might make a script for MSI systems at some stage where it just regedit's the hell out of the MSI applications to igpu when it can.
-
Though as for now, while I'm safely back home (yay), I think I kinda fried my PS42 mobo out of my own stupidity (note to self, even if something "fits", freely mixing parts from stuff of different makes isn't exactly the best of ideas, especially when it comes to power supplies) so there's STILL not much I can prod, test and check out at the moment unfortunately.
Here's hoping it gets fixed quickly, and the local MSI chopshop does a decent job of putting things back together.
EDIT: Already got it back, and surprisingly, the techs told me that... nothing was broken? Despite the laptop REPEATEDLY refusing to turn on before this... its just doing fine and dandy now.
So maybe it just got through a full hard zero power reset cycle and decided that it was fine somehow? I've heard that those work for resetting BIOS or something but AC input issues hmmm?
Anyway, back for duty if you need me to poke anything @hacktrix2006 and I'll buzz back if I find anything else of interest worth sharing.Last edited: Oct 3, 2019hacktrix2006 likes this. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Just working in the 8810 driver, however due to no main internet connection it will take a while to push everything to the right places.
Edit: Installer created and now personally testing it before pushing it to the public.

Myself currently waiting for a local OEM disk-puller to mail me a "relatively new" XG6 1TB SSD so that I can have endless fun trying to put it into that upside down mobo that MSI seems to love so much after realising that current games make mincemeat out of 512GB oh so very quickly.hacktrix2006 likes this. -

Yes I know the feeling about games and storage I have 4TB total and 2TB is just games. The other parts are user profile (because Microsoft loves to brick Windows 10 installs) Hyper-V images and shadow play / important data.

Install instructions:
- Disconnect from the internet (Blame Microsoft as they are still able to install drivers from Windows Update even when blocked with .reg file).
- Reboot System and Enter BIOS/UEFI.
- Please DISABLE SECUREBOOT in your BIOS this is now important for this new installer!
- Once you have booted back into the OS Temporarily disable AV software.
- Now run the Realtek_UAD_6.0.1.8810.1_MSI_Nahimic_UWP_mod.exe Installer
- Select Full Install, Install Without Nahimic, Repair/Driver Update or Fix Nahimic 3. However mostly Full install button should be used.
- Sit back and relax as the UWP's get uninstalled, the driver gets uninstalled and then your system is rebooted into test signing mode and everything is installed and your system is rebooted again!
- Now head back into your BIOS/UEFI and Re-enable SecureBoot!!
- Now let the system boot up fully and re-enable the internet connection.

Known possible bugs and fixes:
Issue: Jack Detection not working.
Solution: Simply go to Realtek Audio Console Disable and Re-enable it.
Issue: Microphone not working after using Nahimic Optimizer.
Solution: Click Reset inside Nahimic Settings section will fix this.
Issue: Microsoft Overwritten the installed modded driver.
Solution: Head to Settings → System → About, Now click System info then Select Advance System Settings → Hardware Tab → Driver Installation Settings, now select NO! save and reboot
the system. Then head to c:\Audio\8810.1\ and run the launch.exe file to start the reinstall.
Issue: Nahimic 3 reports its device is not compatible basically not working.
Solution: Head to c:\Audio\8810.1\ folder and launch the launch.exe file. When the installer has loaded select Repair Nahimic, this will then uninstall the Nahimic 3 APO drivers and UWP then reinstall them after a reboot,
this should fix the issue.

It's not all bad though, at least I can use the OG SATA NGFF unit as a somewhat speedy extra external flash drive with something like the Silverstone MS09.
Anyway, much appreciated as always. Will get to installin' the new pack soon-ish.
BTW, I once had this weirrrrdddd bug with ME: Andromeda sometime last week where everything sounded reverb-y and distorted like I was gaming underwater. Other games were working fine and a restart quickly fixed everything (and I couldn't reproduce it any more) but it was weird nonetheless.
I mean, I know MEA is a buggy mess of a game, but that's was the FIRST time something like that has ever happened to me ever with MEA, and I can't help but wonder if it's Nahimic.
And again, it's not happening any more so it's more like something to ponder about.Last edited: Oct 9, 2019hacktrix2006 likes this. -

Reverb issue sounds like the CPU was getting hammered but will look out for it my end as I have the ME collection myself.

Side note, all Modded drivers that required a separate uninstall shell be deleted from Mega.nz next week as they are no longer required.
All Modded drivers based on the newer Install will stay.

Maybe it flicked between AC/Battery for a couple of moments while it was in its death throes, confusing the heck out of the CPU (and the Nvidia card along with it) thus leading to the whole shebang, IDK... It's gone for good now so can't retest to confirm.
But we're gradually drifting off topic here lol. Back to Nahimic. -

Drifting of topic? We kinda jumped of the Topic cliff long ago. But I do agree time to get back to all thing Nahimic.
Let me know how the new driver goes.

Nope if the registry tweaks are already in it won't mess with them at all. As I have only used a reg add command and not a reg remove then reg add command set.

Your installer package hasn't been giving me much, if any, trouble from day one of me using it (a few short iterations ago), as long as your precise instructions are adhered to anyway.
However, I do wonder why Nahimic keeps on resetting itself to Japanese every time it's installed, at least on my machine. Maybe my region settings are off kilter or something considering I'm not exactly THAT far east. -

And I haven't touched the locale settings either... Heck I haven't even installed Locale Emulator on this particular machine yet. -

Just updated today, no drama to report as expected but Nahimic starts out being in Japanese again lol.
Checked my display language and it's Eng US, and locale is set as it should (as in NOT Japan). Non-unicode is also set to English US.
Thats some funky shizz happening right there lol. Nothing mission critical, just... funky.
I think the Intel CP kinda did the same as well for some reason when I updated my IGP drivers a while back. Not surprisingly both are UWPs.Last edited: Oct 10, 2019 -

Hello, only made an account here to say thank you for this modded driver works like a charm, but i have a question i think nahimic is not working when i connect my usb headphones is this how it have to work or is just a problem that i dont know how to configure. Thanks.

It depends on the USB headset's codec, if it has a Realtek codec on it, the USB headset should work without issues, if it has another codec it would mean I will need the Device ID and Vendor so it could be added to the inf file(s) to allow it to work, so long as it's not a Licensed product for another Equaliser such as Sound Blaster etc.
However I am glad that your enjoying the modded driver.

Hoping that someone might be able to help me troubleshoot the issue I am having with my mic not working on my laptop after installing these drivers. This is the built in microphone I am referring to, and I have not tried the mic input with an external mic yet.
MSI GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro
I have gone back about 20-30 pages in the forums and found others with similar issues. The internal microphone works if I remove these drivers and only install the Realtek drivers manually. I followed all the instructions and the suggestions to reset mic and audio in Nahimic after install. I just have not been able to get my internal mic to work once I install these drivers.
My laptop does not have Secure Boot enabled (before or after... just disabled).
Please let me know what information I might be able to provide that would be helpful in troubleshooting. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Also have you tried removing the microphone from device manager and rebooting?
Yes the issue has been about before but it has at time resolved itself.
I have very limited internet currently so my replies might be delayed ever so slightly and for that apologise.
