Is there any benefit in using an older driver/repack? Specially on older hardware? (like my situation with an old B350)
Or is it optimal to keep the drivers updated? Currently on 20H2.

I was doing some tests with 6.0.1.8996.1 (REPACK) and 6.0.1.9151.1 and notice on Driver Store Explorer that the 51.1 contains more drivers in general, but specially under "Extensions".
And also the Nahimic APP it has more options, like the equalizer.

the nahimic equalizer option was added since v 1.5.1 of the nahimic uwp app in late 2020, TikiThorsen.

I closely notice that change after installing or updating that app to at least 1.5.1

although MSI had released many Realtek UAD/DCH driver versions in May 2021, they have not posted any newer versions greater than 9151. they did, however, release a 6.0.9147.1 version around the end of May 2021 (that now makes a total of six MSI-based Realtek UAD driver releases from 9126 to 9151 around the month of May)

the "Realtek Device Extension" INFs are usually never posted thru MS update catalog - they're only available from manufacturer based Realtek audio drivers.

hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_146211AE" listed in HDX_MsiExt_AVO_RTK.inf (device extension inf) & HDXMSI.inf (codec inf) files

however, that ID is "not" listed in A-volute's updated AVoluteNH3Ext.inf file (nahimic creator did not add it in newer versions of the AVoluteNH3Ext.inf file maybe because that ID was part of the "legacy" model series in old realtek drivers)

I take it there is an issue with my installer and a device ID?

With Steelseries taking over Nahimic, that might mean the end of my mods as SteelSeries are known for some heavy software lockdowns to system bios GUID's.

So just a heads up to everyone.

So i am prepping a new Network setup and will be wiping my Proxmox server for a clean install, i will be making back ups of the DevBox files and settings but will also be remaking the VM after from scratch so its a clean install of everything. Its not just this project that will be effected, also my other projects will be effected as well.

So what this means is i will be halting the driver packs for a bit, at the same time it gives me time to see how Nahimic 3 UAD's from SteelSeries is done too.

    Thanks for understanding.

Very much doubt this will be the case due to Microsoft being the one's that blocked Nahimic from doing the very same thing.

***Don't panic if the new Laptops/Systems are not in the list they will be supported they are more likely supported, install the drivers and if it works let me know your Model Number and it will get added to the list.***

    Install instructions:

    - Disconnect from the internet. (Not Required, so very Optional)

    - Reboot System and Enter BIOS/UEFI.

    - Please DISABLE SECUREBOOT in your BIOS this is now important for this new installer!

    - Once you have booted back into the OS Temporarily disable AV software (Some Anti-Virus tools might false report and delete the file!).

    - Now run the Realtek_UAD_6.0.1.9175.1_MSI_Nahimic_UWP_mod.exe Installer

    - Select either Full Install, Install Without Nahimic, Full Uninstall or Downgrade Nahimic 3.

    - Sit back and relax as the UWP's get uninstalled, the driver gets uninstalled and then your system is rebooted into test signing mode and everything is installed and your system is rebooted again!

    - Now head back into your BIOS/UEFI and Re-enable SecureBoot!!

    - Now let the system boot up fully and re-enable the internet connection. (Only if you disconnected from the internet)

dxdiag ,.,.and send HW ID for audio device

dolby ?? another extension ?? ,.,..,only realtek + nahimic

    edit
you must use the mode "unsigned drivers -enabled" advanced windows reboot
and try manual install all from extracted folder ? "as admin" ,.,.,..or there was a script

verify drivers vs device manager "stop windows update"

Disable Secureboot in the UEFI BIOS.
If you did this already then I am going to need your Audio Device ID which can be got from dxdiag. From there I will mod the files and send you the modded files with instructions.

@NeXt3R the script for the installer does everything to allow unsigned drivers, the only thing the end user must do is disable secureboot before installing. If it doesn't work after that its a missing Device ID issue which can be quickly fixed once i have the Audio Device ID for that device.

The script places the system in test sign mode to install drivers and reverts it after the reboot to normal mode. Look at the .ahk file in notepad++ you'll see the install logic in there.

    Code:
        gosub ArgBuild

        FileDelete, %XML%
        FileAppend, %N_XMLContents2%, %XML%, UTF-16
        RunWait, %ComSpec% /c %schtasks% /Create /XML "%XML%" /TN "RTKInstall" /F ,,Hide
        FileDelete, %XML%
        Shutdown, 2
        ExitApp

The after the Install type picked and is completed it runs

    Code:
    RunWait, %ComSpec% /c %bcdedit% /set testsigning off ,,Hide

Also the MSI GV62VR 7RF is a Nahimic 2 audio solution thus the ID should be already in the drivers, As i have taken ID's directly from the Nahimic 2 HDA driver.

Making a Re-pack driver pack now, should solve the issue the user is having.

    - Now run the Realtek_UAD_6.0.1.9175.1_MSI_Nahimic_UWP_mod-Repack Installer

    - Select either Full Install, Install Without Nahimic, Full Uninstall or Downgrade Nahimic 3.

    - Sit back and relax as the UWP's get uninstalled, the driver gets uninstalled and then your system is rebooted into test signing mode and everything is installed and your system is rebooted again!

    - Now head back into your BIOS/UEFI and Re-enable SecureBoot!!

    - Now let the system boot up fully and re-enable the internet connection. (Only if you disconnected from the internet)

@nk950357 Right i have checked the Driver mod and the Device ID is in the following files

    Code:
    HDXMSI.inf
    HDX_MsiExt_AVO_RTK.inf

However its not in the important file (AVoluteNH3Ext.inf) which is whats causing the issue.
So rather then repacking a repack i have fixed that ID issue ready for the next driver pack however you can now do the following

    • Download the attached file to this post.
    • Head to c:\Audio\9175.1\Win64\ThirdParty\Extension\
    • Extract the file from the zip into the above directory, Overwrite the file when asked.
    • Head to c:\Audio\9175.1\ and execute Launch.exe
This will then load the installer and then install the fix during installing the driver pack.

    This hopefully solves your issue.

in case the 9175 driver version may cause problems for some MSI users, there's also a 6.0.9163.1 version recently posted from MSI a few days ago

Is secure boot disabled in your bios? If not it needs to be. I haven't a GT72 anymore to test with.

    upload_2021-6-26_18-9-9.png

Please help to update this into future updates, thanks!

    "9175.Repack + AVoluteNH3Ext.inf Addon" still working good.
    Thank you.

--I had a little problem while installing, "Nahimic 3 Effects appear over the app, but they don't work". You can repair it by clickin first over "Full Uninstall", before clickin over "Full Install". I think there is a "little bug" there, that makes "Nahimic 3 Effects" don't fully work.

@nk950357 will add "%Device.ExtensionDesc% = DeviceExtension_Install, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_146211D6 ; HDA Converted to UAD" to the nahimic inf file on next release

@Ricardo_estep ok so to get jist on what you just said, You did an install and the Nahimic Effects didn't work at all? but after running Full uninstaller and then reinstall it worked? or is it still not working?, Full install should still run Full uninstall first before running install however something might have changed and i have to make the changes to the script which is more then likely the case.

Another way to fix it would be to run be to run DDU to nuke the audio driver then use Driver Store Explorer [RAPR] to remove the left overs and then install again, this should then at least help point where the glitch is.

I got a reply from SteelSeries that they are considering adding support for old models (Nahimic 2) to the new Nahimic, Let's hope so. SteelSeries is a great company

I love SteelSeries support team, they are the best, Nahimic support sucks, they never replied any of my tickets.

Microsoft has nothing to do with it, Realtek is already releasing drivers for old models, Nahimic is an audio effect software, which anyone can install beside the driver, there are so many private companies making audio effects software.

According to SteelSeries,I don't like to reveal as they sent it on a private mail, they are working on a whole new thing, I have an idea what is it, but will not reveal it as they said in the mail that it is a consideration and not a confirmation,

That said, I am sure SteelSeries will make their best as they have proven to me that they are a respected company

hope steelseries makes sound sharing plus more stable, mine sound sharing plus sometimes has audio delay, needs to turn off then turn on again.
Great work for two speakers(one with type c dac) , much better audio than 3.5mm 1 to 2

@hacktrix2006 just curious to ask, i found that latest nahimic apo was ver 4, will old devices be supported at this version on 3.x only? thanks

I haven't been able to get APO 4 to work on older systems hence why its only APO 3, as i don't have a working GT72 i can't do tests either anymore.

speaking of APO3 files, I don't know how or where this guy got the new Nahimic APO3 v3.3.3.0 SWC driver files for SS3 but he has incorporated them in his recent UAD drivers.

btw, ss3 = sonic studio 3 for asus

edit 7/13 - uad driver update time again - v6.0.9186.1 UAD MSI recently available (listed for an MSI Delta 15 A5EFK laptop).

The new Nahimic 3 v1.8.5, after updating, seems to have stop working on my laptop (MSI GS73VR-7RF). I cannot open the app, it closes automatically. Previous versions, v1.7.2 from hacktrix driver, works and opens just fine. I had to use the "Downgrade Nahimic" option to use it. Don't know if it's steelseries at work or not or if even there's a way around this, but i just wanted to give an head's up.

You are not the only one who has faced this problem.
To solve the problem as soon as possible, write to the Nahimic support service.

Considering my MSI model is not officially supported for this version, i'm pretty sure i will not get any support whatsoever, so it would be pointless for me to contact their support.

My only hope is the modded drivers from hacktrix, if he/she can find a way to get it working (and i know that's a BIG IF).

It all depends on what SteelSeries has changed to the coding, we had the same issue for a while when Nahimic was doing MSI Exclusive stuff for certain models which broke Nahimic app for others.

For now best bet is to stop Windows Store from Auto Updating apps for now.

The only other thing i can think of is they are using APO4 now rather then APO3

My GT72 is still in a bad state, where mainboard and mxm GPU needs to be replaced. So i am unable to even test.

I tried pretty much all i can think of (except formating everything, which i did a few weeks ago). Full Uninstall -» Full Install -» Update Nahimic v1.8.5, app loads and crashes 1s or so. Full Uninstall -» Install Without Nahimic -» Install Nahimic v1.8.5 directly (without updating from v1.7.2), app loads and crashes 1s or so. So yeah, i fully agree with you, something has been changed indeed.

No worries, your downgrade version is working great for me, so take your time, and thank you for the great work you've been doing for us "old owners" ;)

If i may ask, what laptop/mainboard model are you using?
