Aaah. Good info. Thanks...I learned something! So the benefit of the Raid would be hampered by the fact that they would all become SATA II instead of III. Interesting....If that is the case I'll just throw in the hard drive and not Raid it. I'm starting to fill up the first SSD and I wanted the extra space. Maybe I should have opted for a non-SSD? Either way I have already ordered it so I'll find a use for it somewhere.

I am having some game launching issues. For some reason a couple of steam games have issues launching. COD blackops 2 launches every time and I have never had a issue with that game. But Planetside 2 and Chivalry Medieval Warfare have issues. I had to eventually uninstall Planetside 2 and install it via the planetside2 website instead of using steam and it works perfectly. Chivalry is always having issues. I will click play and nothing happens except for the steam deals page pops up as if i exited the game.

I was just playing chivalry and exited it to go to the restroom and came back to play it and now its not playing. I have the same games installed on my gaming pc and have never had an issue with steam. Chivalry and planetside2 works perfectly everytime.

I think its something wrong with my laptop or something. HELP ME PLEASE!!! Very frustrating.

I just got my GT60 in and I am very pleased so far and impressed. I love the screen and the keyboard, though I think gaming will be hard on the kb with my big hands/fingers. I plan to get a mechanical keyboard to use with it at a desk / table and a new speedpad for smaller areas. I am surprised how snappy it is with the HDD. This coming from a gaming/test setup and a MSI X-Slim notebook that both use SSDs. The screen is great and I love how 1920x1080 on 15" looks, though it game chat text can get very small lol. I have been thinking about upgrades but will likely wait as this is good for me at the time being. I will likely add Ram at 4x4GB or 4x8GB if possible. I can't quite tell what I like about it but the keyboard's feel is very nice when using it.

After a couple hours of playing WoW I found myself doing well with the keyboard. I think its my normal feeling of awkwardness with new keyboards but after a while actually getting better with them.

Thanks. I haven't had the issue again. All I did was participate in the Steam Beta. Open steam, click Steam in upper left, click settings and under account, I enabled Steam Beta Participation. That is how i have it set on my gaming PC as well, maybe it was having sync issues or something. Anywho, no further issues so far.

Has anyone tried the new Nvidia Beta Driver 313.95?

Dont try them.. i deleted the link because I had to enter safe mode and uninstall them and re-install the 310 drivers.

This is what my laptop was doing yesterday when i install the 313.95 drivers. I have since had to reboot into safe mode and install the 310 drivers and I thought it fixed it. But this morning I turned on my pc and this is what it did. same thing as yesterday.

When i click on the desktop tile or select anything that will make it go to the desktop, it flashes the battery icon in the top left and acts if I locked windows, making me have to log in again.

    VID_20130130_104054.mp4 - YouTube

Hopefully i fixed it by removing all the Nvidia drivers and software by using this guide.

The guide above worked for me. No more issues with the video drivers.

If it's white it's using the Intel HD Graphics and if it's amber it's using the nVidia GPU.

It's not normal. try uninstall nVidia driver and test only with Intel HD Graphics to see if it's still doing it to rule out the drivers issues.

Try remove the battery and test to see if laptop works with only AC plugged in, if it works then the battery needs to be replace because of the bad cells. if it doesn't work could be the DC jack problem or the adapter that's why it won't charge the battery.

If I never use the laptop with battery, is that bad? I would like to prolong the battery life as much as possible and I am rarely not plugged in. Not only that, but the weight is significantly less without it.

I have uninstalled the nvidia drivers and it is amber. I tried to see if it would change while playing a game and it stayed amber.

I have reinstalled the nvidia driver and its staying white, but if i go to the desktop and open gpu-z or AIDA 64 it will start to alternate. So, I guess its something to do with those programs. I will try a game and report back.

    Thanks

Can it play crysis 3 ? and so what can i do the increase performance? Shall sell the laptop and try to buy a Origin Laptop? because i dont know why but my laptop i think has poor performance? what do you think about my system and my laptop? also i want to know your experiences with your laptop during the games... Shall i sell it or not?

You can always overclock the GPU :)

Since the 680M is currently the top notebook gpu, buying an origin laptop will not help unless you have 2 680Ms in SLI.

The 680M has a big overclocking potential. Also, you may have been experiencing throttling. Instructions on how to fix that are posted in the FAQ section in the first post.

    :)

I have the GT60-ONE-403US according to the sticker under my battery. Would the guide here be useful for my laptop version? The ones listed are the 249 and the 220 versions.. Also, what would happen if i just flashed the vbios and not update the ec firmware?

    Thanks

249US and 403US are the exact same. I found out the only difference is the recovery partition on 249US does not have Killer wireless drivers and 403US does. If you just flash the vBIOS without EC firmware you will need to use ThrottoleStop.

Orospuorhan - I recently purchased the GT60 0NE and have no performance problems at all. This thing is hellafast. Currently running entire gaming library on Ultra or Extreme settings and steadily get 60 or greater FPS. My version of Skyrim is very heavily modded with texture packs and in game add ons and still maxed at 60 FPS, COD BO runs well over 100 FPS...then you add in The Witcher, New Vegas ( Modded) Fallout 3 (Modded) and many many others with no performance, overheating or networking issues to show. I honestly don't think you will be gaining anything by purchasing what in my opinion is an overpriced Origin. The only significant upgrade I have over the stock unit is 20 GB of Ram and a 250 GB SSD. If you are dead set on selling it I am sure you will find many people willing to give you asking price, but I am perplexed as to why anyone would need any more power from the current or upcoming line up of games. In the end it's your money so do whatever makes you happy. .

Throttling is when you experience sudden drop in FPS. The do it on your own risk is there because no one will take responsibility if you flash in an incorrect way and brick your machine. If you're not experienced with such stuff, I recommend you stay away.

I personally use MSI Afterburner for overclocking. I normally turn off AA since it doesn't really make much of a difference on 15" 1080P displays.

You can sell on the NBR Marketplace of this forum, here: NBR Marketplace

I bought my GT60 about 30 days ago from mWave with the Windows 8 64-bit OS. Out of the box, I had endless troubles with Windows 8 including painfully slow Windows updates and never ending conflicts with games such as Civ 5 (slow frame rates), Just Cause 2 (never recognized the 680M VPU), Fallout 3 (wouldn't run at all). I finally bit the bullet Friday and ordered a 750GB Seagate Momentus hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. I could have used the old hard drive of course but didn't want to take the chance of eliminating partitions that I would need if I decided to restore to out of the box condition using the restore disks. Well, Amazon delivered the hard drive and OS yesterday and I installed both last night. I could not be happier with the decision. After installing the Windows 7 32-bit drivers from the MSI website I started loading games. I am astounded by the GT60's performance! Civ 5, Just Cause 2, Far Cry 3 all run at amazing frame rates with max settings enabled. And Fallout 3 runs perfectly (a feat I could not get my Windows 7 desktop to repeat).

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the GT60.

Yes, it is normal. Try increasing them gradually and test a game to see if it is stable for every increase until you reach your maximum overclock. Not all graphics cards are the same, so you may have a different potential than others.

Not much you can do on MSI Afterburner without Beta EC and modded vBIOS on Windows 7 SKU,

On Windows 8 you can go much higher and here is a example:

    Not really.

All laptops shipped with i7-3630QM are upgradable and it's very easy to swap CPU on MSI laptops.

Your CPU is 3720QM and Q stands for Quad Core and M stands for Mobile.
