Well it seems they took my jab on their photography and made me eat my words.

Is this the Hyper kit you are talking about?

How good is the Tornado F5 compared to other brands on this price range? -
What's wrong with the default ram? It's Crucial, not a bad brand...
-
Asked this question in the last week. They charge $75 for you to have the luxury of them grabbing a unit before they apply the logo. This seems ridiculous to me honestly.

You know that you can ordered the laptop without any memory. I ordered my without memory. Just leave a "note" in the comment section on the order page. Be sure to call their sales department first to confirm it can be done.
I ordered without memory since I only had a 4gb ddr4 stick and ordered another 8gb stick from Amazon when it was on sale, 8gb 2400mhz for $36. -
That's very odd... they didn't charge me when i requested "no logo".
-
Yeah, I've never seen a charge for "no logo" either. It's typically optional and has no affect on cost. If they are charging extra for having no logo now, that doesn't make sense. There could be a reasonable explanation for it.

Yes. This is extra $75 Us. When ordering this online put this in the Configuration Instructions box: " NO LOGO extra $75 US as per Garry".

Is it possible to order an unbranded version of the tornado? I don't see a branding option on the configuration options.

That is bizarre
I wonder why would it cost MORE to not include something?
-
Put it the other way. Why do you think OEM's put in bloatware in their computers?
-
Didn't know micron is Crucial. Anyways, that is not the problem but the price for it being offered by Eurocom. $529 bucks for a 32gb (16x2)chezzzz likes this.
-
Yup. If you visit crucial.com, you can see by Micron right below in tiny letters
If you want all of your RAM pre-installed by the manufacturer, CyberPowerPC might be a cheaper choice for you. Same laptop, different rebrand:
https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Fangbook_4_XTREME_VR_200_Gaming_Laptop
Something else you could do (although it requires a bit more work) is ask Eurocom if they could NOT install any RAM. You could then get your own 16x2 GB sticks and install them in the two DIMM slots that are easy to access.Last edited: Oct 19, 2016 -
Might have to buy my own ram (which I linked earlier) since I might go with Eurocom since they are in Canada and cheaper with the student discount

we should get Win 7 and Win 8 drivers up today or tomorrow >>> they will be listed here: http://www.eurocom.com/ec/drivers(384)ec -
Does the Eurocom Tornado F5 come with a 75hz monitor or Do I have to ask for this option upon checkout?
If the latter, then is it possible to ask for a 75hz option even without an OS installed? -
There is no 75hz option.
-
I somewhat get skeptical about overclocking a laptop monitor to 75hz as I hear that it can damage the system. Wouldn't only the monitor get affected by this?
I thought hardware damage comes from programs straining it, excessive overclocking and overheating. I just want to play games without screen tearing or having to use either G-Sync or V-Sync. I don't trust G-Sync as there isn't enough upvote for it and no solid evidence. -

We are planning to add 4K Samsung G-Sync option soon, LCD model is: LTN156FL02-101
Tornado F5 is both CPU and GPU upgradeable:
- CPU is socket LGA1151 (from 6600x, 6700T up to 6700K);
- GPU is slot MXM 3.0 based (from GTX 970M, 980M, Quadro M1000M, M3000M up to GTX 1070/1060).
Upgradeable laptops have higher resale value and last longer.hmscott, steberg, Papusan and 1 other person like this. -

Any plans on sporting 120hz on it soon?

Yes we are planning 120Hz support too around March next year. LCD vendors are planning to launch 15.6" 120Hz panels early next year. -
Alright. A few more months won't hurt then.

Can you comment on why there is such an up charge to get a unit without branding ($75)? This is a free option at places like hidevolution, myth logic etc.
Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping you are planning on making this 120hz LCD available for purchase for current F5 early adopters. Many here are looking forward to it.Diversion, Luraundo, hmscott and 1 other person like this.

Hey, you're holding out on us, eh? Found this on YouTube. Nice vid.
That one is my favorite as well. Looks really nice. -
I just ordered the Tornado F5 today, but I have another problem. I need to know where I can buy a license key for Windows 7 Professional without shelling out too much money and doesn't come from scammers(yes I'm talking about Play-Asia. Are they even a legit vendor?).
That sounds great even though I really don't need it. The main reason why I want 120hz is to reduce screen tearing without the whole trouble of overclocking a monitor. If my screen ever stops working around March or later due to monitor overclocking at around 70-75hz, then I'll definitely buy the 120hz screen if I have the money. -
Bought a global Windows 10 Pro key on EBay for 14 usd.. I'm not sure you want to use Windows 7 on this unit though..not certain you will find much Win7 driver support. Why not Win10?Talon likes this.

I paid like $19 for an OEM 10 Pro key.

If you happen to be a college student, check to see if your school is participating the the Microsoft Imagine program. I got W7 Pro, W8 Pro, and W10 Pro keys for free. I then upgraded the W7 and W8 keys, so altogether I got 3 Windows 10 Professional keys for free...

All of our systems are EUROCOM logo printed so to create NO LOGO EDITION we need to replace plastics to NO LOGO. EUROCOM logos are printed on the plastic itself. We are looking into having logo printed on LCD front cover only and leaving back cover without any logo. -
That would be a great compromise. The external stealth black look is just too good looking

I am only hoping that 120hz Gsync TN panel comes out sooner for this
-

It looks that Nvidia is not able to push FHD 120Hz panels to G-sync so we may offer 120Hz non Gsync. -
How soon would that be an option?
-
Eurocom Support Company Representative
We are planning 120Hz support for March/April next year once the 120Hz LCD panels are available.
-
What do you mean by support?
If there is no gsync, we can use vsync in games right? What happens if there is no vsync in a particular game? -
Eurocom Support Company Representative
By support I mean that our R&D needs to add them to design specs, verify that panel can be supported without any mechanical changes, design new LCD cable/hinges/etc as needed, update BIOS/EC etc. There is the entire process to follow. -
Is the panel on the back of the lid aluminum or plastic?

It seems Alienware 15 already has a 120hz TN+WVA gsync panel. Any idea if that is the one you guys will be using on this model?Last edited: Oct 23, 2016

Fortunately, UTN (Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (National Technologic University), an Argentinian State University) has a nice agreement with Microsoft - We get the same keys + some Windows 2010, 2012 server licences, and W7, W8 and W10 are "Student edition", it's as "powerful" as the Enterprise version which is bloody superior than the crippled pro version
-
As long as the panel Alienware will be using is standard eDP it should technically work just fine. Only issue I can think of is if it's 30 or 40 pin and if for some reason 40 pin isn't supported by the system board on the 16L13.

Tornado F5 back cover and top case is made from Aluminum Alloy, front and bottom case are made from German manufactured resins.

I'm about to finish the payment process, but I want to know if Eurocom also supports the instant version of Paypal. My Paypal account is linked to my debit card which is also linked to my bank account.

Speaking of BIOS/EC, any chance we might get the Tornado's in the near future? Intel Kaby Lake is something a good amount of us are interested in... wondering if a BIOS update might be incoming next year
Want to ask about Eurocom Tornado F5
