I got just as good of a deal on a Precision M6400 with an RGB LED so I am going to stick with that. I will sell this to anyone if they want but I had stuff added in if you guys recall.
-
-
how much????
<marquee> -
1600 + shipping. Let me know if you want the specs, like I said it has upgraded stuff and complete care warranty and its crimson red.
-
good price man i know that is going to sell pretty fast
-
Yeah I got it with the 500gb 7200rpm drive, t9300, bluetooth, intel wireless. Should I sell it here and let someone take advantage of this deal??
-
ur call
-
I'm actually considering keeping mine now. It's quite the system for the price. Once June comes around I'll probably change my mind.
-
when june comes around i know you will
-
Yeah, my other option will be to keep it for a few months and wait for Calpella. Then I could probably sell it for close to the price I paid at that time. I just sold my M1710 for $925 and that was 2 years old. The M1730 only cost me $125 more.
-
Nice Mandrake! Thats a hell of a sell for being 2 years old.
-
Yeah this deal was awesome and i shouldnt have missed out on it . I was scraping together some cash myself since i sold my W90 recently due to $$ reasons but miss having a gaming notebook . Not sure though i can part with $1600 for CShawkeye's deal which seems pretty decent but when it starts approaching the 2k mark its just to rich for my blood right now . i was looking for the base config one that i could have upgraded down the road abit as i saw fit .
-
Rather then risk it on ebay I would sell it either here or send it back.
-
Guess what, I just called Dell this 10min. ago. Turns out that I just got the Purchase ID but not the order number or even the order status. They stopped the order process and gave me a middle finger! DAMN but well, I hope you will get the order go through. The good news is this laptop needs a lot of tweaking and upgrades in order to be really running faster than Gateway P-7811FX, ASUS G50Vt-A1, or Alienware M15x I already have. I still love the Alienware the most!
-
Posts from other forums were suggesting that orders are either being canceled or showing up on invoices with the 8700. Looks like if you ordered after Thursday it might be a battle.
-
So should I say I am happy coz they aren't charging me with invoice showing 8700M GT Dual SLi then?
-
I get the same thing. I ordered on Friday, but received a confirmation e-mail with an order number while I was on the phone with a CSR. The charge even showed up on my Dell account later that evening. But it still doesn't show up on my account with Dell. I am torn between contacting Dell or just keeping quiet and hope that I am one of the lucky ones who slips through the cracks.
-
I am sure they are trying to cancel your order. Hope all the best!
-
I know for a fact that mine's good to go now, because in the end they had to cancel my order and manually make one with the same specs and price.
Somehow I got a free year of lo-jack too (which is useless) and the gray wings were +0 dollars, so I came out ahead.
My order status is "Order Processing" but it was only placed last night. My address is properly filled in everywhere. -
Did you call them and try to manually make one with the specifications? If so, let me know if I can call them or email the specific agent to get this through.
-
i hope they haven't cancelled my order i would thoroughly pissed if that were to happen but we kind of all saw it coming eventually
-
Well, I talked to probably 15 people last night, no one wanted to help me so they just kept passing the buck. I finally got sent to an operator, pretty irritated by this time, and he asks me where I want to go and I just started explaining what I'd gone though. He stayed with me for another 30 or so minutes being very helpful and in the end was the one who got it sorted out for me. He did have to transfer me to someone, but he talked to that person directly first, so when I got transferred all the person did was confirm the specs, confirm the price, and place the order for me.
If you have a Dell Purchase ID and have not gotten anything else yet, you can call and eventually someone will be able to track it properly (lots will tell you it's not a valid number/has no record), and from that, they gave me a quote number. I was able to give the quote number to people later and they said the order didn't go through for some reason, and gave me various options, all involving me making a new order. I made it clear that enough of my time had been wasted and I was not about to place another order, PLUS I had used a promotion for the order that had since ended. The guy was nice enough to care that I was either going to have my quote made into an order, or I was going to cancel entirely, and he got me over to someone who was able to do that.
Because the quote did not actually become an order, and my order was created by a sales representative who just re-created my configuration and then set the price to be the same as my old quote had, there's no chance I'm going to get canceled. -
I got to 'order and system configuration department' this morning. Guess what, I will definitely call them tonight. What's the name of the person you went through? I didn't wanna waste all my min in Cingular so I hanged up with one of the ones in that apartment. Remembered the name of the person?
-
Sorry, but I do not remember the names of any of the people I talked to. I'm terrible with names.
-
Just got my machine in, wont open it up yet unless someone wants to buy it. Going to call dell now to get a return label.
-
I have one here ready to go now... lol
-
what's your configuration? Basic specs of what?
-
Not even the phone number?
-
When I get home I'll give you any info I have, I wrote down some phone numbers during the call but I'm not sure how much of a help that will be.

look on dell's support section on their website.

Why don't I do this, I will call the same number I got again, I will request the quote number so I can talk to people for specific information and ask the person to re-configure my orders. What's the skill you used to talk to them? Flame them or what?
-
I called Dell and confirmed my order is in production and that my configuration did include the dual 9800M GTs. I simply called Dell, entered my order number, and then after I listened to the automated response I requested to speak to a CSR. Once I got a CSR on the phone I got her to confirm my order and my configuration. The CSR also said she would try to expedite the order as right now it has an estimated delivery date of 6/11/2009. So unless they pull a switcheroo on me in production, I should be OK.
-
the problem i'm having is that i guess my order didn't go through i guess cause it not showing up on my account and never go a confirmation email did you ever have that problem basilios?
-
Absolutely not. That never gets you anywhere with CS, and the people who usually are most upset with CS are upset because they flamed CS.
I worked in customer service for some time, and I still do in a way, and let me tell you.
Here's the blunt truth about CS - it's boring, I hated every bit of it, and I generally treated people I was helping as the enemy. I generally wanted to screw them over if it was within reason (tell them what they wanted was not possible vs actually helping). I didn't start that way, I went in with the desire to help people. But so many people have such an attitude, treat you like crap, treat you like you've burned their house down. It's insane, and it makes you hate them. Whenever I talk to CS, I am as pleasant as possible to them. I am gracious. I let them know when I am frustrated, but I let them know by saying "I am frustrated because I have been transferred 20 times and no one has helped me yet." Don't yell. They say I need to be put on hold, and I thank them for their time. Always remind them that you're grateful. By doing this, I'm not longer their enemy, but their friend. And you're much more likely to get help from a friend. -
My experience is that you always catch more flies with honey. If you get frustrated, express your frustration is with the system / company and NOT with the CSR. Tell them that you need their help resolving the matter. They will probably be more inclined to try to help you then. And if they aren't, thank them for their time and call again to speak with someone else. This usually works for me (because nothing in life is 100% guaranteed...except death and taxes).
-
LOL, I try to play it cool with CS, but there have been times when I was just furious with At&t and maybe let the CSR have some of it.
-
YIKES! IT FINALLY WENT THROUGH! I just talked to the person 10min. ago and he could confirm my order by re-configuring the system and placing the order again! Now I will have the 8th lappy in my apartment!
I also tried to see if he could help me to change the system color and the versions of Windows. Neither of these two went through, but I am already happy with what I got from the answer from CSR this time! -
I think I was a lucky one (although the jury is still out on that one) because I ordered over the phone and actually got an order number while the CSR was on the line to confirm it. My account still doesn't show it, but I really believe that is because Dell has siloed me off as an Employee & Education Purchase Plan (EPP) customer and apparently if you make an order in another area, it confuses the heck out of them.
Also, a BIG +1 to what Hep said above about dealing with CSRs. -
Nice, Good Job!
-
Well I have til this afternoon if i have any takers.
-
CSHawkeye81,how much do you want to sell you XPS1730? If I can not get mine with 9800GT , then I want to buy yours.
-
What I paid for it after shipping and taxes in which was 1694
-
$1694. wow. that is lots of USD. Sorry man, i can not afford to that much.
hope other taker will find you soon.
Good luck! -
Did you give the CSR a quote for him to reconfigure the system? I had one of these in my cart before the deal died but once it died it disappeared from my cart. I am hoping to find some way of getting a CSR to reconfigure the system for me. Any ideas? -
Unless you have some record in Dell's system of your configuration and price, I think you're basically out of luck.
-
I have one in my saved cart still.. lol
-
I am almost 100% sure you are correct but I am still holding on to a little bit of hope =).
-
Well you don't even have the purchase ID, so it's just ...............
-
i upgraded the following
t9300
128GB Solid State Drive plus 250GB SATA HD (7200RPM w/ FFS)
Blu-ray Disc Combo (DVD+/-RW + BD-ROM)
ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
Intel® PRO/Wireless 4965a/g/n Mini Card
Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
2 yr In-home Service after remote diagnosis + Complete Care
+ 1 day shipping + tax ~ 2230.
the w90 still is at 2399, and is bigger.
*EDIT*
and FYI, i am still looking into the w90 if my xps doesnt ship, or they dont give me the configuration i order. -
So you gave him the purchase ID? I simply asked what you had to give the CSR so that he would reconfigure your cancelled order.
