Well, get a friend to *USE* it for you! :D

For a small handling fee, you could paypal (or send a cashiers check) me the money, and I'd do it, and ship it to you.

back in the day someone from the UK bought something from me..and didnt read item location etc. I put the shipping time as 3 weeks to the UK since he didn't want to expedite shipping.

He sent ebay/paypal a claim that I was fraudulent. since the item wasnt at his doorstep in 1 day. seriously. ONE DAY from NY->UK on regular international shipping.

They reversed all charges in my account totaling ~ $2800 USD to all the various people who paid me $. Paypal/eBay did not listen to me, even when I proved the item was shipped to him, and he received it. I had to fight tooth and nail to get my money back from all the other buyers.

I am indefinitely suspended from using paypal/ebay, for doing nothing wrong.

this is why i CANNOT use ebay/paypal, and even if i could...i refuse to.

i understand trust me ive been burned a couple times same type of issues one reason why i very VERY rarely ever ship outside of the us anymore. what i did was simply open a new paypal account with different credit card / bank info... but some people cant do that

i have tried, they close them.

funny thing is..at the time, ebay/paypal protected scammers more then legit people.

dont know if much that has changed.

I've only ever sold one thing on eBay (motorcycle), but I have 100% positive feedback for purchases. If you ever wanted to, I'd do it for you. Or probaably half a dozen or so other people on this forum who have been around longer than I have. There are ways to get things done!

i used my mother in laws address thats all that time. but after almost a year i was able to use my old address again. i lost almost 4k$ to a sale outside of the usa myself so i know how you feel i never recovered my money though  the sale was to one person when i used to own a car audio shop on one of the car audio forums they wanted to buy a whole system worth of stuff almost 4k$ and turned out i got burned on it

I believe that was an older one he sold a week or two ago. He still has the one he bought from this deal or he returned it to dell.

I sent that one back to dell yesterday, the other one was my coworkers that he wanted me to sell for him. The guy who bought it is kind of a jerk as he kept calling me asking dumb questions and I even offered for 100 more to install a matching HD and setup a raid 0 and reinstall everything for him, but he said no.

I don't think it's the nice way to make money for this. There are already three M1730s on eBay with 9800M GT SLi. How many of these are coming from Notebookreview or sickdeals?

I got one, but if you take a look at the price very carefully this is not the best deal of the world. In order to surpass the performance of something like the following, you really have to spend a lot to upgrade.

Don't quote me on that....my link only pointed to a processor. I don't know of any NBR orders that ended up on ebay, and I will keep mine for sure. But I saw the ones you are talking about as well, and nice or not, if somebody spends their money and can make money off of the investment, who am I to question it. All it really means is that more people who really want one of these will have the opportunity to buy one (if they missed out on getting one from Dell). And the market will determine what they're worth. I see a lot of them on ebay with "buy it now" in the $1500 - 2500 range, and if somebody wants one bad enough they will pay it. I know I'm not going to force anybody to buy one.

Well thats the problem with most deals like this, most of us want just one ore 2 for ourselves, but there are others who ruin it all buy buying 5 or more and then resell them for a profit, but that's capitalism at its finest. For me it just sucked that he decided this week to sell that laptop as if we he decided 2 weeks ago it would have been closer to 2k or more.

Idiot. Just the 9800M GT SLi makes people grab the system like crazy? I am actually battling through the priorities of upgrading which laptop I have now. I will probably get my P-7811FX and G50Vt-A1 out, keeping the Alienware and the M1730, but seriously after I look at the prices and the eBay markets, the $999 is actually the not best deal of the world. You grab the X9000 and it will be $300 and up. Damn I am getting my QX9300 soon but all the laptops I have will not support this beast! hahaha.

I don't think so, did you get my message 1 page ago, where a system with X9000, dual 8800M GTX SLi, RAID 0, WUXGA+, Blu-ray reader, and 4GB DDR2 cost about $1600? Bear in mind that 8800M GTX SLi is just as fast as 9800M GT SLi.

I am actually not a big fan of Dell. This is probably the first time(the only time too?!?!?) that I got Dell's laptops(XPS M1730). I hate their mechanical design, but the fact that they have good hardware configurations so it's not really a bad laptop. I am gonna get another M15x with FX3600M but I have to wait and see...

yes there is almost no difference between the 8800 and 9800 in fact i flashed my sager 8800gtx into a 9800gt when i had it. everything worked perfect and reported 9800gt. could be all dell is doing with these.. you never know..
