m15x with Binary GFX enable and Smart bay battary gets 6 hours
-
-
yeah perhaps its the 8662 with 260 for me
-
do u guys know if the laptop supports the x9100?
-
i think it only suports x9000
-
-
yeah.........but it is a good cpu anyway
-
the x9000 is the highest santa rosa CPU and the 1730 support over clocking via multipliers in BIOS. only extremes though
-
Still overall a good laptop, now I need to get something small to travel with. Any suggestions??
-
i going to get this cpu if i get this deal but i will take another 4 months
-
it will game very good in the mean time
Nvidida GPU's are not cpu dependent
Any game at a low resolution will be bottlenecked at a low resolution
high resolution is GPU bottleneck -
-
also, regardless of being an older platform.
this deal kicks major donkey. (figure out the donkey) -
You will find that if you're to purchase just that GPU part alone from the Dell Spare Parts department, it will cost $1,000+!IMO, this XPS M1730 offer is not only a very good deal, it is simply "unbelievably" good!
So for once, this is the kind of deal that "if you believe it is too good to be true, IT REALLY IS TRUE!"
-
This is so tempting, but I recently made a commitment to play video games less.
This would not have a positive effect on that. -
agree'd if you bought this and did not play games you would be RETARDED lol
and your not
but playing games now can help you feel better about these bad times
-
-
get it and leave on 9800m gt in there sell the other and you have a 700$ laptop that looks sweet and has a back up card for gaming
-
I have a decent desktop (E8400/6GB PC2-6400/8800GTS G92/500GB 7200.11 RAID 1) that I do a lot of gaming on.
I could of course buy this, upgrade it to 4GB of RAM, add in BT, Intel 5300, RAID1 500GB 7200RPM drives, Vista Business X64, and an X9000 and sell off my desktop...
But by then I've spent $1700, and I won't even get $700 for my desktop.
This would only be slightly better than my desktop is.
And I will move this once every month.
That's a lot to spend for something that will replace something you already have and is working well.
If I could get $700 for my desktop I'd consider doing what I said above, just because then I could sneakily play video games in another room while my girlfriend is sleeping.
THIS IS HARD ENOUGH AS IT IS, STOP MAKING ME WANT TO BUY ONE MORE.
Thankfully it's not Montevina or the order would've already been placed. -
mummmmm xps goodness
-
-
yeah man the price is crazy
-
...thinking of selling the P-7805u...
j/k.
If it was 15", I'd be all over this one--- -
I couldn't pass this up, I actually bought it within 10-20 mins of reading the post in the sager forum a couple days ago. I didn't even think it would go through, because I thought it was a mistake or something lol. But its real, my order is currently "In Production".
This thing is gonna blow my X205 away, just hope I can adjust to normal laptop speakers. -
Good lord, I hope this deal lasts until the twentieth. Or at least about three more days.
I want to pull the trigger, but I'm going to aim first, to push that metaphor to its absolute limits. -
it will last until the 20th eactly
-
Thanks to everyone for the help! -
if it would stay until middle of june i would get it
-
svideo out is fine
-
arghhh i have this just sitting in my cart mocking me
-
To buy, or not to buy
:X i don't think that a dual core will be enough even for gaming in the next year, santa rosa is slow, the battery time doesn't exists (ok i know it's a DTR but everyone likes battery time).
But this thing is very well built, incredible cheap...
Oh god :X -
yeah .... im having the same problem.... pisses me off....in a good way
-
there's a part of me that wants this deal to go away so it'll stop taunting me lol. sucks for me but sucks even more for anyone who recently purchased a gaming notebook with similar specs.
-
yeah ....i really want to get it but i really want to wait for the the new laptops from AW
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
All else aside, the bang for the buck factor is quite nice. This new laptop from Alienware will probably be triple that price.
-
Thank goodness it's a 17 incher. It makes it easier for me to resist it!
-
do u guys know how crysis will run?
-
Not that this should even sway my decision, but does this include a webcam?
-
-
yeah i was hoping i would get home and the deal would be over hate to say that but then i would not have to decide another day
-
has anybody received email confirmation(not acknowledgment email) yet? confirmation email has order number and usually follows the first email (acknowledgment email).
-
i know someone who ordered and they did..
-
nomoredell, why do you keep saying it's for WoW? WoW is not even SLI optimized neither does it require a strong video card to run at max.
Also, what's the return policy on this? Will they charge a 15% restocking fee? Free shipping back if I have issues? -
Also, will the XPS be realistically bottlenecked by the Santa Rosa and DDR2 or only on rare occasions? -
-
-
when i called to check total pricing they had no issues i just didnt place the order at that time...
-
anybody able to get the 64bit vista instead of 32bit???
-
didnt ask i would just "get" the disc when you get the system and do a fresh install anyway i had a few 1730's and they all ran much better with a fresh vista install and the drivers. just use the key on the notebook it will activate both 32 and 64bit
