I got it for 169$ the other day, but even at that price it was a steal, and they had cheap & fast shipping too wich made it even better.

Just make sure Gophn that you update the first post on the thread as needed. We've got this hotlinked now ('RAM Deals' I think is the key) since it is so good!
-
Fry's in-store is offering the same Crucial ram for $49.99 after a $30 MIR if anyone is interested. 1day sale only for anyone who's local in san jose.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

-
lordofericstan Notebook Evangelist
does anyone know of a killer deal (besides the one listed on the first page of this post) for a 2gig ram in one stick? Im sorry but i just dont have it in me to go through all 31 pages. Thanks.

oh sweet, must of missed it.
-
OCZ 4GB is dead
-
because I couldn't get the Fry's website to work and at the
time the operator said they had only about 90 left and
they would be available until Friday, if they lasted that long.
I was surprised how cheap they were. I couldn't find them
anywhere under $200 for the same product. I think someone
said they were close to that price 2 weeks ago, so maybe
they will go on sale again. -
I want to say thank you for listing these RAM deals. I was hearing that RAM will be priced higher in the future and I wanted to get 2 gigs sometime but i wasnt sure until i ran around here. I bought the crucial one for my A8JP. thanks a bunch.
-
i was wondering when I will get or if i get this rebate back to me. Will they actually send me it or do i have to be up on their butt about it.
-
-
Anyone know if 4GB's (2gb x 2 dimm) will run in symmetrical dual channel in Vista 32-bit, even though the OS will only allocate 3gb's to the user? I'm itching to purchase another 2gb Patriot stick if the price ever comes back down to $89.99.
-
-
I just got mine in the mail a few minutes ago. $159 +$6 shipping was pretty sweet! Sorry... I shouldn't brag. Hopefully it will come back. -

How do I know if the DDR2-667 or DDR2-533 is right for me?
HP DV9500t -
since the HP dv9500t is the new using the Santa Rosa platform.
You should look towards the DDR2/667 or even DDR2/800 -
Thanks Gophn. What would be the difference between a DDR2/667 and DDR2/800? I'm clueless! Thanks!
-
at the moment, most of the benchmarks and tests have shown little to no performance increase from DDR2/667 and DDR2/800
for the notebooks, its does not makes sense at the moment to use DDR2-800 since its slight (if any) performance gain... for the huge price premium.
for desktops, the memory becomes more useful for overclocking -
i'm having trouble ordering from frys.
i live in canada, really close to the boarder, so i ship it to the united states and pick it up from there. [because it's an extra 20bux usd for shipping, opposed to free]
but everytime i order, i get my order cancelled.
anyone have an idea of how i can get my order through.
btw. my billing address is in canada; if that makes a difference. -
You could try calling your credit card company and adding the US address to the approved shipping locations.
-
wow if i waited one more day..... oh well i guess im saving 12 bucks comepared to these patriots
-
any microDIMM deals???
-
-
Good deal?
Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory - OEM
$24.99 after $20 MIR (+ $4.99 shipping)
NewEgg Link -
Very good deal. Nice find!
-
i think i'll just call them and see whatsup -
Ok did the updates on price and items... seems that the prices for 2GB DDR2 might have steadied and could be on the rise soon... especially since all of the stock of these 2GB stick under $90 are gone.
-
I was going to wait it out and see if the Patriot memory would come down close to $89.99 again before i bought another 2gb stick, but the 2gb density prices seem to be on the rise so i decided to just purchase another stick from frys.com. Total cost, including CA tax [(8.25%
DARN!], for 4GB's (2x2GB) is $205.65. Definitely not as great as the OCZ deal, but it'll do.
-
I missed out on the 2x2GB OCZ deal. Do you expect there will be similar deals in the near future?

"PC5300 and PC5400 are the same thing (they exist for both desktops and notebooks)
It works like this, you take the speed of the ram and multiply it by eight therefore you get 667Mhz x 8 = 5336
All that happens is that some manufacturers round this down to 5300 while others will round up to 5400 (i.e. PC5300 or PC5400), that is all there is to it.
The same story exist when talking about PC4200 vs PC4300" -Evolution
You can find that on page 28 of this thread. -
That's no accident. The marketing department knows exactly what they're doing. OCZ RAM is 100 faster!
-
I ordered my notebook with only 1GB of RAM, leaving an empty slot for upgrade. Does it make sense to get one 2GB stick for a total of 3GB, or should I go straight for 4GB. I've read somewhere that you should install two identical sticks (2x1GB or 2x2GB) in order to utilize the dual channel capability on DDR2-667Mhz modules. I also take it that one should use a 64-bit OS + 965 chipset in order to see all 4GB. Is that correct?
I have the 965 Santa Rosa chipset with Vista Premium 32-bit. -
dual channel is not really important anymore.... you wont really notice an increase in performance... synthetic tests only shows about 5-10%.
Getting a total of 3GB is fine, you wont even use all of that up either.. its plenty. -
-
I guess I'll take it to 3GB for now, then some day I could replace the 1GB stick at better price. -
