Look at the poor MacBook there![]()

Haha, nice job with the tape. You should get some velcro wraps or zip ties.
-
hey dudes been away for a while moving into my dorm........
and heres my initial setup (minus my new studio 15 which should be added to the mix soon...)
just a question....do you guys think it is better looking....having my middle speaker on the desk or on the cabinet above?Attached Files:
-
-
Fancy dorm!
Are you a lefty by any chance? -
dessssk. lol i dont like how the wire just hangs there when the speaker is on the cabinet, plus if you drop a book or something on the wire on accident your speakers will fall down and go "boom!" (probably not, but it will fall)
...hi -
-
rezen Id say leave the speaker where it is IMHO.
-
Heh. Finally finished putting together my university setup. Sort of bland as I don't have much decoration but I guess it'll have to do for now. But any input as to how to improve is welcomed. This apartment is sort of cramped compared to at home, so ya.
Sorry for the poor quality pics. Camera phones don't provide the best shots with their limited functionalities/options.
40" Samsung A550, gonna hook it up to my PC for some 1080p action
lol, picked up this stand for $20 and it works perfectly for my printers.
Wiring is very messy, as you can see in the pic with the TV as there's like 30 or so wires running around behind my PC. Like, literally, 30 wires, well maybe 20ish.
And yes, I know 5.1 is a waste here but these speakers suck anyway. I should've gotten a pair of z-2300s. Would've been much better. -
The room look's really nice! I like all of your *electronics*
You also have a nice view of the outdoors, too!
Fresh and bright rooms are good thing!

Poor quality pics? They look a hell of a lot better than any pics taken from my phone. Very nice setup, by the way.
-
thanks!
and yep i'm a lefty
what gave it away??
the speaker remote on the left side? -
you need one of my pipes!
-
Bah Id take a cold dark cave over bright hot rooms any day
.
But yeah I agree his setup does look nice. -
One question:
How do you plan on setting up gaming on that 40"? Like, where are you actually going to game from? Your desk? Or will you use a game controller and sit on a sofa/chair? -
lol. I don't think I'll have time for gaming on the TV. To be quite honest, I don't know what game to even play on the TV other than Soldner X where, indeed, a game controller works great (the game gets pretty bloody difficult later on, very fun, reminds me of the arcade style).
Maybe I shouldn't have used the word action, but it's moreso for videos/movies and such (I do indeed purchase stuff that I enjoy such as Planet Earth/LoTR although I have no Blu-ray player here lol). -
Well, i'm kinda interested in hearing what other people, like Unknown do. He has a 50", but how do you game with that? You can't just place it on your desk and go ahead with life! Cuz i'm sure you wana use that screen for movies as well, so how do you place it?
-
Oh...BAH back!
...Who know'sthat room might be sunny and bright and air conditioned!!!! My desk is by a window..makes it nice
Your a cave man??? lol...
It really is a nice set up!

There are options. A HTPC for movies and gaming. Just use a wireless keyboard/mouse or pull out the elite wired ones if needbe when having a gaming session. A coffee table will suffice as a desk/tabletop to game on. I think that would be the best route if entertainment was the priority.
-
hmmmmm, that is an option. I wonder what Unknown does
-
Caveman no, just tired of my office being 5-10 degrees hotter then outside during summer. I blame the vaulted ceilings in my townhouse
HTPC or you could have an easy setup to plug your laptop to the tv. Granted a dedicated desktop will work best, but having a video connection ready could make plugging in the laptop quick and easy. But then again I hope whatever you plug into a 50in lcd has a strong graphics card. -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Sweet setup. I love the brightness but it can be a pain when working at the computer. If this is your "university setup" I do not want to see what's at home lol. -
ahh man, i remember that 1ghz inspiron 4100...the good old days.
-
I ve decided to share my setup as well. Its probably not as clean as many of yours but I m still in collage, so there is no time to clean
well, here we go ...
That was my old desk:
heres my new setup:
-
I have been following this thread for long time but never got to upload pics...just lazy i guess.
This is my setup in June....it was really productive:
Dual monitor setup..so i can drag windows from one monitor to another.
This one is for Late night when i want to Surf as well as watch TV:
Now i have a pair of large Monitor speakers + new Headphones + Creative XMOD ... will upload a more recent pic soon -
Nice keyboard and mouse Noc...
I have the same lol! Very nice SZ too.
-
Hey there! I just like everything about how you have it all set up!
Nice toys!
Cin
-
ProE....my freind is for the novices....
Plug yourself into something like CATIA, you'll be in for a serious trip !
been using v5 for years, it's insane what you can do on it. although the one thing i found it cannot do (that ProE can do) is put text on a solid part in 3D.
i think in v6 that can be done now....
look up some videos on dassault's site on v6, you're sure to flip out -
Hey thanks..well i stole that keyboard from my bro.. ...and that SZ is my dads.. he gives it to me many times when he is travelling...i take good care of it.
Thanks Cin' ..u shud also post some pics of your room
-
Yes, I need to do that...been thinking about it...and just procrastinating..lol.
Soon, though!
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
@ Nocturnal
I have the same Keyboard and mouse too! Great combo
Nice setup too. Lotsa cool toys
-
it's actually a Latitude C640
-
What is that keyboard and mouse combo yall are talking bout?
-
high five!
Logitech comfort curve 2000...best budget keyboard EVER! The touch is almost like the higher eng MS keyboards but at a great price!
the buttoms (e.g. volume...etc work very well too, all plug and play no discs required)
Mouse wise...
We are talking about the Razer Deathadder! For me its more of a comfort mice more than gaming. -
Thats looking good, what mac do you have?
-
he has a Vista and XP mac
-
Masta-your setups is great!you are rich i guess?
-
I was about the say the same thing... that Sager is the godliest laptop I've ever seen! And two Xeons in your Mac? Post some pics for proof!
-
roxtc, yeah nice specs, but I think you are breaking forum rules by posting an image with that kind of background.
You better change the background picture before a moderator bans you
K-TRON -
K-TRON thanks for the concern, but you do notice it's a QUOTE. =]
-
you can remove the IMG tags and it'll save us some scrolling
-
I've got to agree with that. Quite often, someone quotes another person and they quote the entire post. Pics and all. We saw the pics once, we don't really need to see them five million other times. Oh, and D-EJ915, I love your user pic (but in my opinion, Konata is a far better character).
-
Guys,
Please make sure that your images are NBR appropriate(some posts have been deleted/edited). Also, most image hosting sites can automatically resize images, so dont be afraid to use them.

Thanks guys. I m not that rich. I sleep on a futon instead of a proper bed
I ll post some pics of my mac when I m gonna be cleaning it out which will have to happen pretty soon. -
i wish i had a futon, i love those. i don't want to lie down, 1 minute later i got couch-like furniture.
-
-
I like your setup a lot. your desk has a lot of space, and ive always wanted to wall mount an lcd at a desk...and nice case! I wish i bought it instead of my p180 years ago...
-
It saves a hell of a lot of desk space to wall-mount, the stand with the vp930b is awesome, an ergonomic work of genius but it eats desk space. I basically got the corner desk to finally do something about lack of desk space and it was a bargain at 30 quid.
before:
Oh and if you're talking about "mahtor" my PC (There's a fun story behind the name), it houses a 5-year old P4 [email protected] -
@MastaMarek: oh,how bad!i think we can collect money and buy a bed for you
j/k of course-if serious,i waiting for new pictures!
-
Saw the wooden HP at the Cosmetic forum a few days back, and seeing this (browsed through this whole thread today) still gets me amazed.
-
Wow, you browsed through the entire thread? Not even I can do that when I am extremely bored.
