Haha, nice job with the tape. You should get some velcro wraps or zip ties.

dessssk. lol i dont like how the wire just hangs there when the speaker is on the cabinet, plus if you drop a book or something on the wire on accident your speakers will fall down and go "boom!" (probably not, but it will fall)

Heh. Finally finished putting together my university setup. Sort of bland as I don't have much decoration but I guess it'll have to do for now. But any input as to how to improve is welcomed. This apartment is sort of cramped compared to at home, so ya.

Sorry for the poor quality pics. Camera phones don't provide the best shots with their limited functionalities/options.

40" Samsung A550, gonna hook it up to my PC for some 1080p action :)

lol, picked up this stand for $20 and it works perfectly for my printers.

Wiring is very messy, as you can see in the pic with the TV as there's like 30 or so wires running around behind my PC. Like, literally, 30 wires, well maybe 20ish.
And yes, I know 5.1 is a waste here but these speakers suck anyway. I should've gotten a pair of z-2300s. Would've been much better.

    One question:

How do you plan on setting up gaming on that 40"? Like, where are you actually going to game from? Your desk? Or will you use a game controller and sit on a sofa/chair?

lol. I don't think I'll have time for gaming on the TV. To be quite honest, I don't know what game to even play on the TV other than Soldner X where, indeed, a game controller works great (the game gets pretty bloody difficult later on, very fun, reminds me of the arcade style).
Maybe I shouldn't have used the word action, but it's moreso for videos/movies and such (I do indeed purchase stuff that I enjoy such as Planet Earth/LoTR although I have no Blu-ray player here lol).

Well, i'm kinda interested in hearing what other people, like Unknown do. He has a 50", but how do you game with that? You can't just place it on your desk and go ahead with life! Cuz i'm sure you wana use that screen for movies as well, so how do you place it?

There are options. A HTPC for movies and gaming. Just use a wireless keyboard/mouse or pull out the elite wired ones if needbe when having a gaming session. A coffee table will suffice as a desk/tabletop to game on. I think that would be the best route if entertainment was the priority.

Caveman no, just tired of my office being 5-10 degrees hotter then outside during summer. I blame the vaulted ceilings in my townhouse :p

HTPC or you could have an easy setup to plug your laptop to the tv. Granted a dedicated desktop will work best, but having a video connection ready could make plugging in the laptop quick and easy. But then again I hope whatever you plug into a 50in lcd has a strong graphics card.

ProE....my freind is for the novices....

Plug yourself into something like CATIA, you'll be in for a serious trip !
been using v5 for years, it's insane what you can do on it. although the one thing i found it cannot do (that ProE can do) is put text on a solid part in 3D.
i think in v6 that can be done now....

look up some videos on dassault's site on v6, you're sure to flip out

    high five! :D

Logitech comfort curve 2000...best budget keyboard EVER! The touch is almost like the higher eng MS keyboards but at a great price! the buttoms (e.g. volume...etc work very well too, all plug and play no discs required)

    Mouse wise...
We are talking about the Razer Deathadder! For me its more of a comfort mice more than gaming.

I've got to agree with that. Quite often, someone quotes another person and they quote the entire post. Pics and all. We saw the pics once, we don't really need to see them five million other times. Oh, and D-EJ915, I love your user pic (but in my opinion, Konata is a far better character).

It saves a hell of a lot of desk space to wall-mount, the stand with the vp930b is awesome, an ergonomic work of genius but it eats desk space. I basically got the corner desk to finally do something about lack of desk space and it was a bargain at 30 quid.
