lol the only saving grace is my laptop. The computer room will be up as soon as i get into the new apt and get unpacked and all. Still wont be near as elaborate as some of these others. I am getting rid of most my furniture before the move and starting fresh so to speak.

I spent my Amazon gift certificate on a new green laser pen. Pretty cool thing.

    Too bad it's illegal in the U.S. (5mV>). D'oh!

You sure? Last I checked there was no legal limit but just there are illegal things you can do with it. Example its a Felony to point a laser pointer at a plane while it is in flight.

I was going to get one of those OMG ultra laser pointers back in the day and passed because it was a bit too expensive for any real worth I would get out of it.

This is where I was going to get it from: http://www.wickedlasers.com/more-lasers/_300mWover.html

Those guys sell supposedly the brightest flashlight in the world too. 4100 lumens, its like a spot light in your hand.

Yeah its illegal (hence me having to pull a diode out of a drive lol). You can check out dealextreme.com and read the little text:

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12804

"United States Customers Only: due to new regulations enforced by the US FDA and PayPal, orders of >5mW lasers units shipped to the United States are no longer accepted. Orders that were previously accepted and unshipped will be cancelled and refunded to customers. This affects United States orders only."

What's ironic is that I got mine from Amazon, I believe from a company who distributes lasers in California. :D

I've got a flashlight that has an illegal flashing function that can blind. Getting through the goddam Sydney customs was very tense indeed.

Just bought myself a new glass desk at OfficeMax. Was pricier than I expected but from what I was looking at Staples and OfficeDepot.. I think I got one heck of a bargain.

I'll be sure post a picture of it once I get it all assembled and when I get my basement cleaned. I have nearly 60 boxes lying around along with thousands of computer parts just sitting on the floor.

BTW, I finally got a new computer chassis. Been running my computer without one for almost a month and a half. I'll be sure to post a picture of that as well.

    Thanks :)

I looked at a few different ones and ended up getting one from "Premier Mounts" its well built, sturdy and easy to install. The model number is AM200, bought it at SEARS, believe Circuit City wanted $200 for something along the same line, this cost me $129.

    A vacuum cleaner may help.

My mother manages to clog up her laptops with a lot of dust pretty quickly - don't ask me how - I in contrast generally have a clean laptop...

Open one of two flaps and carfully vaccuum it - but if you are unhappy with the idea, or worried about static, etcetera, don't do it!!

    Hmm...
Our old Asus fan stated to make a noise out of nowhere - when I took the laptop apart - I figured out what it was, but not how it happened.
The fan was touching the "casing" - but that would have meant it had grown ??? ...
    Hmm...
Try the hardware section to figure out where the problem lies!
    (new thread maybe)

This is my bedroom --- Which of course doubles as my computer room! :D

I know it doesn't look the greatest on camera, but hey. The house I live in is over a hundred years old, and the furniture within is probably about the same age, haha. :p Plus, it's a step up from my old setup:

    http://i41.tinypic.com/x4ki90.jpg

    Put together that computer entirely from scratch --- Had it for about five years, I think, before finally getting my current Vaio to replace it. :D It never did me wrong, not once, and even though it was insanely slower/smaller than my new Vaio, I sometimes still miss it ... ;_;
