well im no expert in this category but there are alot of choices...but in my opinion OCZ RAM's are in the top tier for perfomance... Corsair is another superb choice.

WINDOWS SEVEN CIR ITE DRIVER COMPATIBILITY ISSUE

I would like to mention that I've met some compatibility issue with the CIR ITE driver for Windows 7. The Consloe Media Pad didn't respond very well. I've returned to the previous driver (Vista) using the system restore, everything came back to normal.

RTM=Release To Manufacturer. It means this is the edition released to manufacturer such as Dell, ACER, Lenovo, Sony,... this is the version that the manufacturers pre-install on their computers. This release was out since last july to give time to them to prepare their new products. The RTM contain usually all Windows 7 version available (Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate 32bits/64bits). This is the same version than the commercial release.

FENDI i think that buying a never used before serial on Ebay is a bit risky. if you are 'willing' ;) to pay then why not buy the original. also if u can find the Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate = almost at par with the RTM...which means almost finished product) from the web u will be able to use it for upto summer next time giving u ample time for prices to come down for Win 7...and the RC is like the real thing it does evrything...

I heard that ACER like Sony has deactivated it. Don't know how to reactivate it. We must wait for a new bios that provide it but not sure they will release it or we will have to write a petition for it

    Hello Darika

I finaly purchased Acer Aspire 6935. It came with Vista Home Premium but I did a custom install of windows 7 Professional, hence I had to reinstal all drivers. It seems that all drivers are installed but I cant hear the surround sound emitted from the inbuilt sub woofer whereas I could hear it earlier in vista.

I also see that If I press the Acer Empowering Technology button, I can only see ePower Management, eData Security Management and eSettings Management. I think there was also eAudio management. I went to Acer UK website but I could not find the application for windows 7 although for vista it is available.

Also, I see that the touch panel audio control works fine but it is not precise in moving the sound. I mean even if I drag the volume to full, actually it does not set to full sound and the same applies to setting the volume to low level. The only proper way to set volume is via the icon on the lower right.

Please, can you assist me with this one.

    Thank You

I've managed to enable virtualization on my 6935G with BIOS v1.13 by following instructions on the following thread....Proceed with caution this involves modifying your BIOS!

    http://marcansoft.com/blog/2009/06/enabling-intel-vt-on-the-aspire-8930g/

I can confirm afterwards it is possible to install virtual machine software I have tested with "XP Mode" In Windows 7.

It seems Realtek has removed some options in the last driver (2.36).Indeed, in the Sound management (Control Panel of Windows), in the speakers properties LEVELS tab, most of the levels are missing so the Internal Subwoofer level too.
I suggest to get the previous version that I'm using:
    Realtek Driver 2.32

After you have installed it, you must be able to see these settings :

You are now able to adjust the level of the subwoofer ;)

Anyway, the center level will be useless here as the 6935G doesn't have center speaker like the 893xG.

I'm gonna to update the main page of my review to warn about this little problem.

Opps, you are right Darika, it is 2.1 speakers. But this application "e-audio" is not released for windows 7 yet. Hence I cant hear sound from the woofer. Anyways, I will install the driver of a preivious version you suggested and tell you the outcome.

    Thank You

    Bingo Darika!

I did as you said and now I can hear the surround sound. Bravo! Bravo!

Now there is just one issue with my audio level touch panel which is:
It does not respond accurately while controlling sound. Rest all controls work fine, just the volume meter is not accurate to control sound so I have to use the volume icon to increase/decrease volume. This happened after I installed windows 7 but it was working fine in vista. I guess there is some application/driver that I need to install for it to work accurately.

As I mentioned some days ago, if you have installed the CIR ITE Driver for Windows 7, you must replace it by the one made for Vista, and the audio touch panel should work like before ;)
I've also had this problem with Windows 7 CIR ITE driver, so I rolled back with the Vista driver version.

Well I think you sould try updating your BIOS to the latest ver1.13. But I wonder if you faced this problem when you was on Vista. If yes then I guess it is something to do with BIOS. Even Darika, on her review has stated on her review of Acer Aspire 6935g that after she updated her BIOS there was improvement in gaming graphics.

Also, a word of caution, which is updating BIOS can be risky and if done incorrectly can permanently damage your system. You can find the latest BIOS on the acer website but even they warn about updating unless told by any personnel of Acer to do so.

    Hope that helps.

    Scorpio,
i think you have throttling problem. Let me explain this. While you are playing games it is possible your CPU overheats (or BIOS thinks it is overheating) and CPU starts downclocking thus causing low performance.
i suggest you read this thread and inform yourself more on this issue. Theres also solution for acer6920G that i think works to on 6935g.
at least you can see how to check if you have this trottling problem.
    Good Luck.

Anyone knows how to control the CPU fan? SpeedFan doesn't work, and others say that fans sensors are not found... I heard that Acer blocks that options... Is there someway to turn around this?

I see from your laptop specs that you have n-draft wireless. I own acer 6935 and wanted to know how to find out if I have n-draft or not.
