    I got a hit the hay, sleep on this, button up a few things and tomorrow I’ll have some content on it.

    But doesn't it have an HDMI 2.0 port? which is pretty damn good for outputting video even to 4k?

    I reset my 15+ and it seems to be running worse now. Temps aren't leaving the 70s, but it's also not using the CPU correctly at all either in benchmarks or otherwise. So Bob, I am looking forward to your vid!

    It does have an HDMI port, just not sure if it's 2.0. It has 2x mDP though which should easily cover 4K even if it's 1.2 (at least that's fine for 60hz).

    So you need to have dual channel memory in order to resolve the 35watt gaming limit?

    So odd issue... decided to keep this OP 15... so put in my own 512gb 950pro and formatted and installed fresh. Now that I'm back up and running, the windows key does not work. I installed all the Mech G2 drivers (should be the same?) and end result is the same... any ideas?

    EDIT:

    NVM, I guess when I installed the OP Control Center, it defaulted to disabling the windows key. All good :)

    Did you check if EC was updated properly in BIOS. By just running f.bat it will only update the BIOS but not the EC. In order to update the EC I had to change the command in f.bat and after that it updated the EC to 1.35.09. Now it performs just like Mechrevo BIOS 1.16 with 1.33.09EC. So I will keep this OP BIOS, ok logo btw.

    Ok... so for all of you having trouble... it appears no one is going through the images I uploaded.

    Setting your FANS to GAMING MODE is not the only setting you need to change. You need to also go to the setting in the far right, "SYSTEM MONITOR" to GAMING MODE. Also, go to your windows power plan by right clicking your battery. Your current power plan should be a non-default one named "MyGamingMode" which is created by setting it to Gaming Mode in System Monitor. You can see the proper settings in the images I uploaded here. These are completely stock + OP control panel, I didn't even undervolt it at that point:

    https://imgur.com/a/d4xSFLk

    If you need proof, I downloaded BF V per Bob's request to show that it was working as I had described. The results were above bob's initial results. Again this is all stock + undervolt. I havent swapped my ram yet.

    I'm aware that is common knowledge for some of you veterans of the tongfang here. But I am hazarding a guess that the vast majority of these new OP15+ Users don't know that. Which is why everyone here who is complaining is getting a PL1 Throttle of 35w.

    While you are here tho, it appears the Mechrevo Bios has a 55w PL1 vs a 45w PL1 when in gaming mode, correct? How difficult would you rate the process to flash the bios. I've watched some of the guides but I was concerned a bit about compatibility, but it appears Bob was able to flash it so not sure. Curious if the New OP bios will have the 55w PL1 or if it will remain the same.

    Ahh I see, I thought everyone would read all the 139 pages... /s ;)
    There is a lot of info about PL1 and PL2 from page 100 and forward.

    Edit;
    I have PL1=55W and PL2=65W on both Mechrevo and OP bios. But I like Mechrevo BIOS more since it has two added features, OPL and two modes for the Fanboost button, one to just make the fans spin faster or the other to change fast between gaming and office mode, which makes it easier to switch between power levels witout going into gamingcenter.

    I flashed bios in both Windows and EFI shell, both methods have been rock solid on this machine!

    To Update EC;
    @AFUWINx64.EXE GK5CN6XN105.ROM /p /b /r /x /l /capsule

    Don't forget to enter BIOS after and press F3 then F4 to reset powerlevels stored from previous BIOS

    Waiting to see Bob's fix on this. Surely it's not as simple as dual channel RAM... but this is what he alluded to.

    There were a bunch of different ideas posted on his Youtube video, maybe someone there found the right solution.

    Thanks! Had the bios flashed but not the EC. Both complete now.

    Also installed the gaming center from OP support 1.2.2.8. After installing and rebooting I set it to Game Mode and it set the TDP to 55w and 65w (short power). Now after another reboot it is setting it at 45w and 78w (short power) and XTU won't benchmark. Very odd. Reinstalled XTU and still getting 45w/78w but the benchmark is running again.

    I also removed the 16GB stick and put in 2 8GB sticks. They are running at 2400mhz though instead of 2666mhz because there is no ability to set the XMP. I asked OP support and they won't let us change the XMP.

    After putting in dual channel RAM:

    Dropped voltage -.140.
    TDP to 45/78w - 1450 Marks
    TDP to 55/65 - 1455 marks.
    TDP to 55w/78w - 1451 marks.

    Cinebench R15 - 1254 (got 1278 with single channel RAM)

    Before putting in dual channel RAM XTU benchmark would never get above 1030.

    TRY this at your own risk!

    Download the latest OP.zip, extract it to desktop.
    https://mega.nz/#!hDAnkAhb!vEBgkcHr-32n85148wGjdh_51ubGtEH45dAl4-ATdqE

    Run 01_BIOS.bat as administrator, it will ask you to continue, just press enter and let it do it's job.
    Computer vill reboot a few times and will also be black for a while. Once it is ready it will boot to Windows Desktop.

    Enter the folder again and now Run 02_EC.bat as admin. Now it will restart much faster, but into BIOS, and it will update the EC firmware while in BIOS, just wait until it's finished and restarts by itself and boots into Windows.

    Now restart and press F2 to enter BIOS then press F3 followed by F4. Done!
    Now you are on the latest OP 1.05 and 1.35.09 bios!

    I did exactly what you showed here but when I run the .bat files the command prompt opens but nothing happens after I start the process. It never restarts, never goes blank. Nothing.

    I flashed the bios and have that up to 1.05 but cannot get the EC to do anything even if I enter bios and hit F3 and thenF4

    ok, so I finally got the EC to update and that solved my problem! No more power limitation on Civ 6 anymore. It ramps up at will and all seems well.

    I had to use a combination of my Bios flash that I posted and the EC flash steberg posted to get it to take. Not sure why, but it finally updated and I am 100% good to go. I might add that I am still in single channel RAM, so that had nothing to do with it, at least in my case.

    Thanks everyone for the help and the hard work!

    Looks like you figured it out but for the rest of you, batch file is running from current directory so do not start it from Windows Explorer. Instead, open cmd in Administrator mode, cd into the directory, and run 01_BIOS and 02_EC as per steberg's instructions.

    Thanks to everyone's help and links to all the updates, everything is good for me now as well. Updated BIOS, EC, and Gaming Center and it's running like a champ. What a deal, glad I returned the Omen from Microcenter.

    Not to go off topic but does anyone know if/when the 4 cell getac batteries will be available? The only supplier I've seen in this thread is cheap-laptop-batteries and they seem to be OOS. I like to do all my upgrades (RAM, HDD, thermal reapplication, etc) in one shot.

    Congrats on getting the OP15+ running correctly. Could you please kindly post cinebench multi score? Also do you have a Y7000 for comparison?

    I am evaluation several 8750H gaming laptops and so far the Y7000 has the best benching performance compared to Asus GU501GM, MSI GP63, all with 8750, full 1060, 16GB ram, pcie SSD

    I am mainly going to use the laptop for photo editing in Lightroom and photoshop, so cpu performance is most important, with gaming secondary

    The GP63 has unlocked bios, imon modded and undervalued, but y7000 in stock form still beats gp63

    TIA

    Lenovo y7000 with only two exhausts has better Cinebench r15 scores? It hit 1279 with my msi gp63. What are your settings. There are some windows updates where you need to make certain mods to throttlestop to counter the OS changes.

    So I need some clarification. Do I need to update the bios/ec and get dual channel memory to get higher CPU power? Or getting the latest bios/ec posted here enough to get the higher CPU power?

    You're really just grasping at straws if all the systems that you're looking at have the i7-8750H. They will all perform similarly, within a few % points. Just go with whatever system that hits your price point. All i know is that the TongFang systems + LG 144Hz IPS Display Panel LGD05C0 is a killer combo, especially for photo editing. I have no backlight bleed on my Overpowered 15+ system whatsoever.
