I understand however, what I'm saying is that Sager should recieve the same amount of WSXGA's from Compal as Xotic does however its apparent that they got more since orders are being filled up to Jul 13th and people who ordered in June like me arent even getting a peep from Xotic.

yea it just seems like more bad news followed by more bad news, its a rather depressing wait unfortunatly but when it comes and hopefully it will before I am forced to cancel it will all be worth it

Syntax Error, I don't think this is true. Donald told me that Powernotebooks and XoticPC never actually receive the Sager notebooks. Apperently they are shipped straight to the customers from Sager directly.

Before I knew this I said something similar to what you said and his reply was:
Hope that clears some things up :)

I suppose in your case this is true, but in my case, being a California resident, I have to have it shipped to Nevada first then back to California. Reason being is that I don't want to pay sales tax. I suppose if I had the money to waste, I'd have Sager ship it out to me directly and I'd have the laptop in 45 minutes, essentially.

syntax im in the same place as you. since I live in california its going to probably be a longer wait for you and me to get our np2090s. and since i ordered in xotic..its going to probably take longer since yours is going to pnb in nevada.

I wonder what the possibility of picking up the notebook at Sager Notebooks is, I dunno how that might work, but their warehouse is a drive away, and I'd much rather pick it up myself. :)

Lol you Californians are complaining about the wait... I live in Maryland, how do you think I feel?

If you ordered a Sager and don't live in California, yes the reseller never receives it. In all other cases, as in you live in California, or you ordered a Compal/FORCE/Power Pro your reseller will get your laptop.

if you pick it up i would probably guess that you would have to pay sales tax since you are buying a product in california. if you go to nevada then you are buying a product in nevada.

I'm about a mile from Xotic. Thats why mine is shipping from California by PNB. 7% on $1700 is $119 - makes quite a difference.

Hmmm. I've been hearing that since mid-June. Doesnt mean much. Going to pull the plug on my order next week. The latest email I got was that the pre-orders for IFL90s will be shipped end of July to early August which is next week.

Now I read things on the forum talking about mid to late Aug. You'd think that an operation like Compal with supply chain software and all that would be able to reliably tell the resellers when the order is slated for production.

I'm pulling the plug too if mine isn't shipped by late next week. I ordered from Powernotebooks June 4th (yes June) with the WSXGA+ screen.
I have gone too long for this to drag on another month. I'm gone for work and every week that I don't have this thing is a real burden. Trying to do CAD stuff while only at home and losing the productivity while traveling is getting to be too much.
I hate to make the switch over to the ASUS G1S but it is looking like that is what I will end up with. I also plan on sending an email to Excalibur PC to see on potential shipping dates for the Asus V1S.
    This has been ridiculous.

I hear ya Jurassicjet. I wish I had my new machine to do the testing and configurations I need. Part of my plans for the summer is to come up with a better backup system than what I currently have. To do that I want to try technologies that I have not used before (different filesystems, encryption, logical volume management). Doing that with my current machine is a pain in the ass. I ran a compilation last night that took forever. And my tests today also took much longer than necessary. :(

Let's not confuse shipping dates for new orders with shipping dates for Pre-orders. Of course new orders will ship later on into August. Pre-orders will ship much sooner.

I really implore you to check with your reseller about YOUR order instead of trying to interpret the information brought back here about someone else's order...you will be much happier.

It depends if you ordered a Sager NP2090 or the Compal IFL-90. If you ordered the latter, then we have no info on when their shipment's gonna come to ship out to the resellers (in your case, XoticPC) and configure to ship it out to you. The news Donald posted only applies to Sager NP2090s. It may seem unfair, but that's what happened with shipments and Sager was on track on securing their IFL-90 shipments properly.

I had talked to Ron Baird of PNB the other day and he said he would be shipping me a model that was the same minus the fingerprint reader. I said that it would be fine.
Googling around though, it looks like this model is the FL90, and has a few more differences than just lacking a fingerprint reader. Does anyone know what the differences are/have any comparision pictures?

The FL-90 and the IFL-90 have a few differences, most of them being aesthetic and looks than specs or technical differences.

FL-90, has a different lid and different top buttons, the plastic is a different shade of color, more "bluish" than black.

    From Stevonio's review (the FL-90):
    Different lid:

Different top buttons, true buttons rather than heat sensitive buttons:

Wow, my buddy ordered his back in late June from Xotic and he called Friday and they told him it would be at least 2 more weeks. He almost canceled the order but after looking around some more there is nothing that can beat the deal he got with this machine.

Aesthetically, the FL-90 is not looking to good for me. =( Stevonio, which do you think looks better (since pictures wouldn't do the FL-90 justice)?

I do not like two-tone back on the sager, but I like the heat sensitive button bar area for the keyboard better. Pure black would have been better IMO, but im pleased.
