I ordered my compal laptop on the 13th of July at Informatique.nl and it's being shipped to me as we speak I should recieve it tomorrow.

I was told it would last Friday or yesterday. No e-mail yet. I e-mailed powernotebooks twice yesterday to see if it shipped and there hasn't been a response. There was to another e-mail I sent them so I don't have a good feeling about it.

His order was May 21st, yours was June 1st.

 

Powernotebooks still have not recieved their 2nd shipment yet and dont know when it will come in. I ordered at the end of May and was told last week (7/25) I would be in the 2nd shipment for sure. As of yesterday it was still unknown when it will ship.

 

I knew I wasn't the longest. 71 day is the loser I guess - I wouldn't say winner. Have any of them shipped?

okay so I just called powernotebooks and Ron told me that I should be in pretty good shape to get mine mid august (I ordered July 3, WSXGA+) but that it would be good for me to call back tomorrow b/c he said that Donald is going straight to Compal this time and skipping the middle man to get the screens in. He also said that they really don't know how Sager got theirs in or where the hell they bought them from. I don't know about you but I want my IFL90 to be legit and be tested properly. I'm not saying that Sager isn't doing that. All I'm saying is that I do trust powernotebooks and xotic and I know that they are all as pissed off as we are now and seriously try to not give them too much crap... Let's just hope that whatever Donald is doing now will work and the shipments will start coming in!!!

The only middle man I can conceive of is Bizcom. The more I learn, the more I think that the source of the many problems that have occurred this summer is Bizcom. Not the production problems but everything else.

Bizcom is 1900 years behind the times! The orders are going to arrive here sometime in 3907.

 

@donsell, my order was placed may29 (credit-card, so I got "in line" right away)... Last I heard from Ron on Saturday, was that my computer was "in production last week", and might even have shipped out friday. They haven't sent me anything since, email or laptop, but I've been trying really hard not to keep bugging them. Now it's not going to arrive in time for my next business trip either.

I was told the same thing, that it'd ship last Friday or yesterday at the latest. I sent Ron an e-mail 2 times yesterday and didn't get a response.

i'll call Ron and see what he has to say.

 

Sit tight...we will have an update in a few minutes for those that were supposed to ship either Friday or Monday. A few did, and the rest that we expected to ship are shipping today.

 

donald what did you guys mean by the fact that your going stright to compal and does Justin plan to do the same?

 

I was expecting to get a tracking number and hoped I would see a tracking number for your laptop this morning as it is our standard practice to send out tracking numbers the next business day after your computer ships.

Did Donald say he would have an announcement in a few minutes, and then give the announcement in the next breath, or is it just me?

 

I meant we would update those that are shipping today personally...those that were told last Friday or this Monday either have been shipped or will ship today.

 

I'm still waiting on my shipping info from Xotic. Does anyone know how long their testing thing goes for?

Compal IFL-90 shipments are snailing its way here, Sager somehow secured their supply of IFL-90 whitebooks pretty fast, so it's really a matter of how well distributors can get the notebooks to resellers, and Bizcom is really lagging behind in its acquirement of IFL-90 whitebooks.

 

I called. The expect it to ship today or tomorrow. I'm excited!

I don't think you're bugging them if they indicated that your computer would ship in a certain time frame and you hadn't gotten confirmation of shipment.

 

Well, that sounds a whole lot more promising than "we expect". I'm getting a little scared every time I hear that phrase, as I imagine everyone else is too.

 

You are all patient people. No way would I have waited as long as you have. I would have been cussing Compal's, Sager's, Xotic's and Powernotebook's name on a daily basis after two weeks.

I hope the IFL90 is everything you've been waiting for and more. I hope you what has happened to the 1520 people don't happen to you. It's a shame to wait so long for something only to have it not perform up to your expectations.

i hope so too, i ordered june 15th from powernotebooks so i'll hopefully be in the second shipment

 

Any ETA's on the "second shipment" of IFL90's that PNB is getting?

 

If I were to order an IFL90 now, which company would get it to me fastest at this point? I would need it here by August 18th at the latest - is that reasonable? I currently have a 1520 on order from Dell, but I'm quickly falling out of love with both the computer and the company. If I knew I could get an IFL90 here before August 18th, I'd jump on it - could that be done?

Very doubtful, but you can call Sager, powernotebooks, or xotic and ask. I've been waiting since June and boy does it suck. I ordered a Thinkpad a few weeks back, so I'll take the first one that ships and cancel the loser. At this point I don't know who I'm hoping to win because this IFL90 fiasco has left a very bad impression. Good luck on canceling the 1520. I had to wait 1 hour and 25 minutes before I got a rep from India. I could barely understand what he was saying; consumer-level Dell support sucks.

 

Yeah, I've been trying to call them asking why it hasn't shipped yet, and if anything is backordered. They're telling me no...which clearly isn't the case. I've had enough of Dell, and frankly just don't want them getting my money. Unfortunately, it seems as if they win by default, as all other comparable notebooks are out of stock (or that's the impression I'm getting). Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

 

I ordered on July 23 and Xotic pc told me that I should have the WXGA before the 13th, they are not sure if they could have the wsxga by that date because sager has no info on their 2nd shipment.

My guess is if you order today you probably would get the WXGA by the 18th, as for the wxsga probably not, but this is my uneducated guess merely estimating on the information I have been told, like others have said just email them, or better yet call them...

 

Dell business support is much better than their consumer support. You could consider a Latitude - they're actually very nice but not great for gaming. I don't know enough about the Vostros to say if you get consumer or business support.

 

Hey everybody...I ordered my IFL90 w/WSXGA+ today from Powernotebooks, they say it should ship Mid-Late August and they gave me a free upgrade to 2nd Day Air. Hopefully, I will receive by first week of September as I am from Canada and will be flying down to NY for vacation and pickup!
